The Story of the Neville Family with Durham Cathedral Volunteer Guide, Frank Cain

Frank Cain has been a volunteer guide at Durham Cathedral since 1975. Our guides have an amazing knowledge of the Cathedral and here Frank shares the story of the Neville Family. The Nevilles were one of the most influential local families in the Middle Ages. In 1346 Ralph Neville fought in the Battle of Neville’s Cross, defeating the invading Scots. The Neville Family are now buried at Durham Cathedral.
