  • At around 37k miles, this Jeep started experiencing death wobble at speeds above 55mph. The stock steering damper was worn out from heat buildup causing air bubbles that can’t escape. Replaced the factory damper with a ‪@FOXFACTORY‬ TS Stabilizer. Pretty simple install and fixed our issue.
*UPDATE: about 1,000 miles later and the death wobble has returned. Not nearly as bad thanks to the Fox stabilizer, but the issue is still there. I'll be looking into the ball joints next and will likely be upgrading those to aftermarket.
Purchased from ‪@Morris4x4Center‬. Very fast shipping and best price found on the internet!

As an owner of a heavily modified 2018..the stabilizer only will mask the problem. The ball joints that come from the factory are junk. Once I changed to aftermarket ball joints the issue went away.

I appreciate the input. I’ve been starting to wonder if this was a bandaid fix. Glad to hear from someone who’s gone through this and found a solution 👍

Update: Since this is my wife's daily and I don't drive it as much, I haven't been able to determine if this was a solution or a band aid. Drove it yesterday and hit an overpass running about 75. It death wobbled so bad I had to slow down to about 45 for it to stop. I'll be checking ball joints tonight and will likely be swapping those out next.

L bought a lifted jeep with the bump steer present I fixed it by getting a set of Rancho drop brackets and a wheel alignment and now it's back to 100% normal

Surprisingly, mine was all because of the tires. Put a new set of 35x12.50s on it and the problem went away. The stabilizer helped, but it didn’t fix it.

Steering damper do not fix the issue. Check ball joints, tie rod ends, drag link, trac bar and control arms they all can cause an issue also the toe will cause it to if it’s off and also make sure the wheels are balanced in the front
