I love how each robin has represented some side of batman. Dick represented his most heroic side, Jason was his more vengeful and brutal side, Drake was his intellectual side, and Damian has been his arrogant side. It's cool how each of them are "more Batman than anyone else," but when together as the bat family, they pretty much are Batman.

Actually when Jason was robin he was the most like happy one in the comics. A lot of people think he was the more against the rules kinda robin but actually he was always happy as robin. Dick was the one that went against the rules
For real. Jason’s comic history is so interesting to me, from his very first appearance(literally a dick grayson copy paste lmao) to now. His Robin days in particular were brutal because there was weird ass sabotage, for the lack of a better word, against his character in the writing, then the poll on him dying, to after where he was always talked abt as the Angry/Bad robin IRL and in comics when that wasn’t the case.
I love all the Robins and the comics aren’t perfect by any means, but it often feels like his character gets the short end of the stick.
Don’t even get me started on the women tho lmao.

I feel like the best part of his character is that he is only the way he is because of the fans. The fans hating him caused him to get killed by the joker, and it almost feels like his vengeance is targeted at the fans who wanted him gone as well.
Fun fact: apparently, there's evidence that that poll was actually not actually fair, and Jason might ght have survived if not for the fact that many people who wanted Jason gone also had a lot of money for stamps.

@@thenexus7343 doesn't really apply to Joker tho. He enjoys his beatings, since in his mind it's just another proof that Batman can't escape him. Joker enjoys being beaten and he would enjoy being killed, there is really no way to win. At least in one of those options sufferings of the innocents would stop. One of the common excuses for Batman not to kill him is that this way he will "lose" to Joker. But he already constantly loses by allowing Joker to do basically whatever he wants.

That's the Arkham games universe, it's not the same period of time for other universes. Like in Under the Red Hood, it's assumed Jason was tortured for only a few hours before he died.

I remember the theories back then about how Jason could have been the second Red X from the Teen Titans cartoon because of how familiar he acts with Robin and because it could have been a pretty interesting twist to have Dick be the second one instead of Jason.

@@ahmedjagirdar2773 Death in the Family is the arc in the Post Crisis which is Pre52. Jason's birth mother Sheila basically delivers him to the Joker. The Joker beats him with a crowbar and then locks the warehouse with Jason in it. The DC animation for Under the Red Hood follows that canon.
He was only brutal towards rapists when he was robin. He was a total sweetheart back then. Grayson as Robin, on the other hand, he was driven by anger and vengeance

The ending of the Red Hood movie was Oscar worthy.

In the comics he actually wasn’t tortured for months, he was beaten to near death with a crowbar and then blown up in a building with his mother within like hours of being found by Joker. It’s still a pretty messed up scene in comics for something that happened in the 80’s.
I've always loved Red Hood for his character and design, he's one of my favorite DC characters
Batman wanted to kill the Joker, but couldn't because Joker had become the Iranian Ambassador to the U.N.

Red Hood is honestly an example of how a character can become too popular.
As much as I love him, over the years he’s been getting softer and softer to the point he’s no longer that Under The Red Hood level badass I fell in love with. Feels like a watered down version.

I fell like red hood get unknowingly placed in the category “not interesting” just because from a glance his character design is relatively simple but there is so much going on in his design that I’m in love with.

He deserves more. He is the true hero that Gotham needs. Batman doesnt fight crimes for his people. He fights for himself.
The difference is Batman respect justice. So, since he's able to he tries to capture them so the justice system can handle it.
Batman isn't at fault for criminals running around Gotham, it's Gotham own justice system.
You could argue that Batman is doing a disservice to Justice if he knows Gotham’s system is corrupt but he continues to do the same thing.

@@toxicsmoke194 And my counter argument is that Batman does try to get rid of the corruption, but a Bat demon was released back and sealed away after Gotham was first founded and his evil influence spread throughout the city since. Comic book BS, but it is cannon.
