Thank you so much, saved this video. I’m about to do this job myself this week. Do you think the airbox is absolutely needed for the intake vanos? This was super helpful. I have been out of the used car world and auto repair world for ages and I rolled the dice and got my son a 2012 Mini Cooper S Countryman which I’m replacing multiple items this car is known to have issues with and while the valve cover is off and I should do the timing chain at 96K…I honestly feel that’s above my skill level, if I could pay you I would good sir for the timing chain. So far, vacuum pump replaced, spark plugs, coils, valve cover, and vanos sensors pending but the timing chain I think is too much for me.
I'm so glad this helped! Thank you so muching for watching and sending a kid comment! We will be doing the full timing set, guides , oil pump drive all of it! Please stay tuned and let me know if it helps, as these engines commonly have timing issues at this mileage, and it's usually the guides that deteriorate. Thank you again we really do appreciate it alot!❤
Hey we just got a 2014 Countryman S yesterday and today we got the code P13C9 and the mini system is stating it lowered the engines input. Would you recommend i change the solenoids to see if that fixes it?
It might, but unfortunately its usually the timing chain thats the problem. Altho sometimes changing them helps, and you should put new ones in anyway if you do the timing chain. We actually changed the timing chain and guides on the mini in this video, unfortunatly we didnt get footage of it
Thank you very much for watching we will try to put up a video on the chain as well. (These engines are kinda notorious for timing chains at 100000kms)
Good work brother, your education is on point and neat.
