Greetings from Helsinki! You should check out their song Loneliness (winter). That song is a masterpiece. Another great one would be Time from the same live rehersal session.
Ahhh you would be surprised how many amazing metal bands Finland has. I haven't been really into it for last 10 years, but before that I had a long period when I was obsessed by Finland and their metal scene. And maybe the most amazing thing for me is that all of them, no matter wich genre of metal they play, respect each other and often colaborate. I think that only in Finland you will find musicians from power metal and death metal band (for example) hanging and making music together. I could talk much more about this topic, but I will cut it short and say that I really think that you should start discovering more Finnish metal bands of all genres, because I am sure you will love some of them. And when I say that, the first one that comes to my mind is Sonata Arctica and their first 3 albums. First of all, their main composer and singer is a great friend of Tuomas from Nightwish, then, they have to offer you something that you haven't heard yet, but I think will surprise you how beautiful and melodic it is, and lastly, they are a big nature and wolf lovers. 😉 I don't like their sound after the third album, but those first three are really special. Or maybe trying Stratovarius from 90s. That band influenced both Nightwish and Sonata Arctica (and used to be my favourite band for a long time). Ok, I could really recommend so many Finnish bands, but this was something that I think you might truly like. I think you would be especially moved by Sonata Arctica ballads. They are wonderful. Like "Last drop falls", "Letter to Dana", "Mary Lou" (acoustic version), "Draw me"... there are so many. Or Stratovarius ballads like "The land of ice and snow" (about Finland) or "Forever". Sorry for the long comment. 🙈 Warm hugs! 🖤
@@tapsavaan1671 Wow! Kiitos for this! I had a huge smile on my face during the whole video. It was so beautiful seeing them together and remembering some of them that I forgot. 😍🖤 I didn't recognize some of them, but it is logical since I haven't been into Finnish metal for the last 10 years. But it was truly beautiful and nostalgic. And..... R.I.P. Alexi 😥
@@jovana_r yeah.. CoB was great and alexi was great quitarist. Btw.. chek this Finnish band.. it almost metal, almost.. but it is still good way old school rock : Thy row - The round.
@@tapsavaan1671 I will, thanks! I don't care if it's metal or rock or pop as long as it sounds good to me. I'll definitely check it. 🖤 And yes, Children of Bodom is one of those, numberous, Finnish bands I loved. 💔
Great reaction! Wintersun is found by Jari Mäenpää (guitar, leadsinger) and he is mastermind behind the band and writes all the songs of Wintersun. Other wizards are Teemu Mäntysaari (guitar, backing vocals), Jukka Koskinen (bass, backing vocals; also now basist of Nightwish) and human metronome Kai Hahto (drums, also in Nightwish). There is still two songs from same rehearsals Time and Sons of Winter and Stars. I suggest you do first song Time. Forest Seasons album is great to react also. Especially you could react to Loneliness official lyric video. Their first album Wintersun has really great songs like Death and Healing, Starchild, Winter Madness, Sadness and Hate. I suggest you react to Death and Healing official lyric video first. Please and peace 🙏🏼😎✌🏼
WINTERSUN now were talking have been waiting for you guys to get to this was going to recommend them but wasnt sure Dominika would like Jari’s growling lol but this was a perfect intro song to these top class musicians now get ready for Time and Sons Of Winter & Stars from same sonic pump studio you are both in for the ride of your lives lol another great reaction guys keep up the good work 👍🏻👊🏻
I'm not a fan of growling unless it adds to the song and is still understandable. In the case of Jari and Wintersun the growls are an intricate part of the story and recognizable. Wish I could say the same for bands that write great lyrics then growl and grunt the entire song so you cannot understand one word.
You're rapidly becoming a true music expert, Dominika. At 10:50 you say this: "I love how they put all three voices together, and they're not always in sync..". That is exactly what jumped out to me when I first listened to Wintersun ("Sons of Winter and Stars"). They do the exact same thing with the guitars, i.e. the secondary melody line following its own path. Has a very distinct and almost "classical" feel to it, like a Bach fugue. Then I saw John Wilson's reaction (JW Soundworks. Now there's an expert if I've ever seen one!), who used the classical term "countermelody". And that's precisely what you described when you talked abt their voices (oh please Tuomas, so hope you've written vocal parts for Jukka in the new NW songs!). Anyhew, great reaction again you guys. Cheers from Amsterdam! 🤘
Got in my car after digging out from the worst snow storm in decades. Turned on the car stereo and this was the first song that came on. Now that is what I call karma.
Hi there, great reaction, correct there are two members of Nightwish present, drummer Kai Hahto and bass guitar Jukka Koskinen, here Jukka sings, maybe he will sing on Nightwish too, greetings
G'day, Aussie fan here. I've loved your reactions ('specially the Aussie ones) since you started your Nightwish journey. Someone coined a term for Wintersun's music: "Brutiful" ... a combination of "Brutal" and "Beautiful." Their song "Time" from the same session is my personal favourite, but "Sons of Winter and Stars" also has that killer Brutiful sound. Definitely worth checking out. Keep up the great work, you guys are wonderful!
Hello from Finland! Love your reactions, always makes me smile 😊 I have a request for you. In Finland we have this folkmetal band called Korpiklaani and I would like you to react to their song Leväluhta (official video). It's a folkmetal song with a little reggae wibes.
I understand when he doesn’t want to sing songs where Marko sung before, those boots are hell of a big to fill. But I will be disapointed if Tuomas doesn’t write something for him to sing to their next album.
@@pekkatoivanen4619 Only a idea. No evidence. But maybe Jukka and Floor's voice don't work together? Sometimes two voices just don't gel. It will be interesting to see where it all goes. Marko and Floor were really something special together.
Wait and see what Tuomas may have in his sleeves with Jukka. It took some Time til Troy had his first Song..Kind of..where he really sings. Maybe i am wrong cause i have not heard only him as a 'male fronted Singer'.
If you liked this song, I would strongly reccommend you watch the song "Time" from the same rehearsels. I honestly think that "Time" is one of the most beautiful songs ever written!
Your reaction/analysis are always a pleasure 🖤 And yeah, Kai & Jukka have a sidhustle at Nightwish and Teemu at Megadeth. Also, now that Time II has finally been released a week ago after 12 years of waiting, I think "Silver Leaves" took the title of the most beautiful song of Wintersun ua-cam.com/video/Lp2wU6gtp0E/v-deo.html

It is always good to see one to wake up from "just a noise" point of view. Metal has one thing that not a any other "group" in the world has...everyone is welcome. Much love from metal capitol of the world, Finland /
I like this much better than Sons of Winter and Stars, because I prefer the vocals here - I'm not a fan of very harsh vocals except for highlighting (which this song does well). I found it too much in SoW&S. Glad to hear Wintersun isn't always liike that!
I love you discovering bands that I enjoy. Great reaction. Here is another one for you - the band Soilwork, a Swedish metal band that I really like. Here is a link to a concert that they did in Helsinki Finland, and on this song, Let This River Flow, Floor is a guest singer. It's a wonderful surprise, and it's stunning! ua-cam.com/video/-yXB7CB6DmU/v-deo.html
Well since they are going to react to more finnish bands then I am going to recommend Battle beast, Sonata arctica, Children of bodom, The Dark Element and Ensiferum. 🤷🏻♀️🥳🖤

If I could recommend "Sons of winter and stars" from the same session as this song. Well worth a listen I think
And "Time" as well.
both of them and then nothing at all
