Cale Yarborough Motorsports wanted to run the T-Bird in the 500, but some "persuasion" by FoMoCo saw Greg Sacks in a TBird for the Shootout, and a Taurus for the 500, and they weren't thrilled because the T-Bird was way faster

If I remeber correctly, TCE and Jimmy Spencer ran a T-Bird in the Pepsi 400, as well as Gary Bradberry in the 78
