      @@davebartels612 there is no "reservation" in CFB.... These players will spend the week going to classes, eating in cafeterias and restaurants surrounded by hundreds of other students, practicing with their teammates in close physical contact, and then go into the mosh pit of a game every Saturday against close to 100 players from another school that has been doing the same.... If you think there is even a small chance that a season can be played without a huge outbreak, and literally many deaths from this, you are not being serious....

    • @DrPommels
      @DrPommels 4 роки тому +2

      @@user-rm8gk8gr3g thats is an interesting question... want to take a quick guess how much of the economy South Korea shut down? They had their 1st confirmed case the same day we did, Jan 12th. By March 6th they had tested over 250,000 people, had installed thermal monitoring/imaging in many public areas, and were shutting down specific areas where outbreaks occurred. It turns out that on that very day they ID'ed their 3rd "Special Care Zone", effectively quarantining a several block area in Seoul and issuing stay at home orders in that area of the city. BTW, they had a mandatory mask rule in place by February. On that day, want to take a guess what our President was saying? He went on Hannity and told his loyal followers that people with the virus could get better by going to work.... He was right, they "could" get better, but they would without question spread the virus to others. Are you aware of how monumentally stupid it was to say that even then? Should we look at how those 2 approaches worked out? It is not like SK had better info from China, they dont and didnt enjoy a particularly close relationship with Xi, that was Trump. On March 6th SK had roughly 8,000 cases and 200 deaths. Out testing at that point was an absolute mess (though that week Trump told us anyone that wanted a test could get one and they were all perfect) and we had only confirmed 277 cases and 14 deaths... we were winning! To this date SK has now had 15,000 cases and a little over 300 deaths.... They have roughly 1/6th of our population, so if we were handling it equally well we would have 100,000 cases and 2,000 deaths..... total... to date... It may surprise you to find that they never shut down their economy. They did shut down around 30 Special Care Zones to aggressively isolate outbreaks... and they wear masks.... always. So how many lives, in addition to the 160,000 deaths from the virus, is President Trump responsible for because of his complete incompetence in handling this virus? Good question..... But hey, at least you have Georgia showing the way in opening schools the way the President wants.... That oughtta show em.....

      listen to the perspective of the football coach, and anyone else.... but dont for a minute think it is an equal perspective to that of the health professionals on this issue. I wouldnt pretend to tell him how to plan a practice, or design a play, but I have thoughts about it. I wouldnt expect him to take those thoughts with the same weight as his offensive coordinator. This isnt a political issue, it is a virus. It only cares about 1 thing.... replicating. If you give it an opening, a vector, a pathway.... it will replicate. And in doing so it will cause great damage and even death to a lage number of people, we didnt evolve with this virus, we have no protections other than the basics.... wear a mask, wash your hands, and stay distant. Somehow, I dont see that a lot on football fields, and so far have not seen a lot of that in college age kids. Play the season, make the pandemic worse, kill some number of people that wouldnt have died otherwise. But at least you get to cheer on Saturday.....

Folks will soon discover the pull we have, the rivalries we can renew, and the power we can wield developing our own schedule and keeping all of the income we can generate. I have been to many away games. There are literally tens of thousands of expat NU fans in every state. They show up like a conquering Army. Everyone says NU's not Notre Dame. That's right. It would be hard for me to believe a coach that says I love my players and you are still willing to out them in harms way as a leader. As a parent of a division 1 (Power 5 conference) level athlete it is my job to guide my child in certain decisions especially when their judgment is clouded by emotions. That's what parents do and it should be what coaches do when parent entrust a child to them. To hear a coach discuss economics and children's emotional wants over the health and safety needs of these kids is outlandish. I wonder
    1. How many of these people making comments are parents?

    The health and safety is not your number 1 concern, winning is. Otherwise you wouldn't let injured players play.

    I think Nebraska should join the Big 12. Nebraska never really fit into the Big 10. The sports that are offered at Nebraska are more associated with Big 12. I don't trust a college that won't play hockey.

      @saigonbond Nebraska does not belong in the BIG 10. Different values, football team now sucks, maybe the women's volleyball team can bring them back to greatness. The football team and the Nebraska administration are now just a bunch of whining bitches. What happened to the great football tradition in Nebraska? It left with Tom Osborn. With that coaching carousel you have there it's just luck you won 6 games last year. Getting beat by teams like Indiana? Nebraska thought moving to the BIG 10 was going to be easy and would be competing for a title every year. That was wrong! You have great recruiting classes and yet field shit teams. One more thing try starting a hockey team...Or go back to the big 12 where you belong.

    This ain’t about you, bro, and your lousy football team .The world will go on without Nebraska football for one season. There’s a health crisis going on. Maybe you’ll get it done in the spring, maybe you won’t.

      Not about you, bro. It's more about Frost than it is with you. The players and coaches want to play, not your program, not your business. Besides, the players are a lot better off in regards to this virus by playing than not.

      Did you not listen to what he said? If they don’t play a lot of people will lose their jobs and a lot of kids will miss a great opportunity not only for a good education but also a possibility to make it to the NFL( that goes for all colleges). It should honestly be up to the college athletes and coaches. They’re the ones who are going to be taking all the risk. Keep politics out of it! From what he said the players want to play. So let them play. Btw you sound like a giant douchebag.
