Good part on cadenz that I always have torenen myself on my 3x7 Flevotrike, where the three speed is the internal hub. Wit a little headwind (not much hills here, to choose the lowest internal gear and only ‘play’ with the derailleur t kee my knees happy.
Thanks for this video!! It is amazing! I expecially loved seeing your Azub parked amidst all those high performance motorcycles. You are a Haus doing all that climbing in one day.
Hello Matt. I'm incredible impressed of your long travelling by trike, and not at least your brave desision to follow your heart in the planning of your life, and I think this journeys probebly will define much of your life. I was just about to ask what cadence you normally like to use in the steap uphills. I'm not a triker but think it's interesting to study the difference in the way of pedaling among the trikers I have seen. I'm not at all any expert at this, only a bit interested to learn more. In lack of good shoes built with a click point like this for click pedals, some trikers might use good foot straps both to secure the foot and have the advantage both to pull and push around the entire pedaling process which will activate more muscle groups and over time use less energy or manage a higher speed within the same use of power. This pedaling technique might be more common on regulear 2 wheel bikes. Best Regards Arne G from Norway.
In my cycling club we called the push-push pedaling style "pedaling in squares". And you aren't familiar with the Detroit cycling club, the Wolverine Cycling Club, Michigan's only velodrome and the 24 Hours of Cycling on Belle Isle? I've been a cyclist since 1982 across the state in Grand Rapids and was familiarized with the Detroit Cycling community then. So I'm surprised you seemed unfamiliar with the cycling scene in Detroit! Great video, and Hanza has given you great advice about your pedaling! I'm going on riding now 41 years and no problems with my knees!
You're right about cadence. You don't have to ride slower, just pedal faster. If you had clipless, you could really spin. Just spin and save your knees
Wow, Wow, Wow, Matt! What great video & drone footage you captured. I definitely appreciated your explanation that Honza gave about cadence. My left knee has been replaced 3x's and I find myself "beasting" through hills with my right leg. That, of course, strains my right knee and I can certainly feel it. Like you, I need to pay more attention to my cadence rather than the bull work to avoid damage & pain. Charge up the drone batteries, I foresee some great videos heading our way. Keep on Triking!
I don't think you will be that impressed with La Spezia. The pretty pictures you have are of the 5 Cinque Terre towns west of Spezia. Also, Italian pizzas are served uncut.
Matt, kudos to you for the mesmerizing video. One of your best so far. Azub has done a wonderful job to upgrade your trike. Going slow has helped to capture beautiful nature. Take your time bro. Thanks for some of the stunning shots using your drone.
I miss talking to you Matt, I've lost touch with most of my old friends in our old communities specifically because I had my old phone stolen and they took over my old accounts and permanently locked me out of everything... Eventually we'll get a chance to talk... I also sadly lost contact with Matt F as well... If you ever have the time to maybe we can get together sometime soon... I also Lost touch with Sylvia and momma Dobson it's been a hell of a past couple years
Do they have like the truck weight stations over there like when you’re on the interstate the big trucks have to get weighed every so often, you could roll on top of one of those and it should work just like if you were a truck lol but I don’t know if they have stops like that for big trucks over across the pond.
You know, those bikers are talking about you. Yes, you are the bigest odd ball out there. It is part of all that bad food you been eating and as well to due with your age. Consider adding a shot of olive oil or sesame seed oil to your diet. The older you get the better your joints will thank you for it. I am not sure of your age at the moment. but, I am 61 years young. In my family that just getting started couple years into be middle aged person. Eat better as person less pain. also try turmeric the root as ground powder & put tsp in cup at night for less pain and better sleep. So, you can feel much better in the morning and other resons as well.
I am so happy to see these “old style” Jayoe videos. Made my day! ❤
It's nice to see the old Matt....great to see you back on the bike on another adventure and to listen to your opinions on life
😮Hey Yayo, cordial greetings from Costa Rica, my name is Pedro Angulo, 2016, I suffered 4 spills, but little by little, I made my own tricycle.
Awesome! you built it yourself?
加油 Matt, this reminds my of your older content. Great video.

im really glad you enjoyed it
Motorcycles on road curves is the same as, road bikes on tight bike trail curves; with blind spots. Ever experience that?
Yea I have. But not on these roads.
He held a pair of pedals for the stroks
Matt, enjoying your tour. Could you comment on how you like the new trike. What features are working and what might be better.
i talk about it throughout these episodes... ill do a synopsis later.
Great video! Question: what is the helmet visor you use?
I like how you crossed your legs going down lol
I love that!

I never found an open one
When you’re going uphill, even in low climbing gears, how do your knees feel?
honestly the knees felt pretty good overall.
Wow
55.5 KM.... wonder if it would be doable with a Shimano steps + 630 Wh battery
Does the trike have electric assist? If so, how do you use it in the climbs and descents?
no electric... not e-powered... its me-powered
@@JaYoeNation I would use electric assist for going up hill only.
I from costa rica bless U
⚔️💪😎🏴👍
You could now call yourself a mountain biker...
LOL... with the big tires... i think so

The bikers were talking about my food and age? Most were older… smoking…. And eating the same from the same place. Not sure what your implying.
You are having fun!!, but please you have to wear sunscreen! Please take care of your skin now please ❤
im wearing it in these videos... i was not without... still got some color...
