Just one question: Do you really think people who can only afford to rent a tiny appartment like that will be able to afford a whole ass kitchen island just for storage?
@@NachaBeez I'm talking about who have to rent out such a small space. If they can't afford anything bigger surely they won't be able to buy an kitchen island.
Luna - That room looks cluttered and stressful and if i were to judge that room i’d say that only a couple of hoarders were gonna need that much storage. But it’s understandable, they had a lot of tips for storage and decided to put it in the same video which wasn’t a great idea but i forgive them lmao.
Expand the room using galvanised steel frames, Borrow aunts screws to tighting the galvanised steel frames, Add wood veneers over the galvanised steel frames add shelves for storage underneath a matress on top and kitchen at the expanded part use the remaning to makeshift the windows back in their position
I think the goal was to maximize space in a city apartment like new york city. However rollable areas for storage is also space you can't use of have to leave open. I think a much better option would be a rollable bed frame with mass storage underneath.
I love the idea of building a bed with kitchen cabinet. I’m looking to renovate my tiny bedroom and hoping to include more storage space beneath my bed and this should work pretty well for me! The only question is how the inner side of the bed was built? I think a single row of kitchen cabinet would not be big enough to accommodate 2 persons on it.
Buy lengths of smooth wood about 1'' by 3'' and cut to size of the mattress and lay over the top of the cabinets to support the mattress over the space in the middle (which you can use for items seldom used such as suit cases, out of season clothing etc). There are a number of UA-cam videos showing how to make a bed using kitchen cabinets from Ikea, one of many hacks using Ikea items.

Okay but I have just one problem... The whole setup looks nice and everything, but you are expecting someone who can afford a broom closet sized apartment to buy a whole kitchen island?
Zach K I think if someone were to actually do this they would probably put a dresser underneath the bed. They could have also used old cabinets that were being sold second-hand or built their own.
So then why dont you live with all your belongs on the floor? Or live in a huge mansion. Silly person... Putting things away is how you keep small places clean
Love IKEA, especially organizing products and ideas. Please IKEA, amaze me one more time! I'm struggling for the past four years in a tiny crew cabin, onboard a cruise ship. We are divided 2 in each cabin, having bunk beds, one desk, tight closet and metal walls (not allowed to destroy them with fixing the new furniture on) super small bathroom. Make a video on how to organize clothes, shoes, uniforms, suitcases, cosmetics and all the other stuff we use and need during six months contract. And please provide us with more magnetic hooks and organizers 😁😁😁
I loved in a bedroom that was the size of a queen size bed and room for a PC tower as an end table but no real foot room. I mounted verticals bars on the wall, hooked some shelves on the bars and put my computer screen, keyboard, and beta fish on it. It was very tight but functional. I’d love to have dresser-like storage under my current bed. That would make it a world of difference. My dresser is in another room of the house right now.
I think I could’ve done this differently. All the clothes hanging on the walls and on racks would make it feel cluttered. Use the space under the bed for all the clothes. Idk why they needed a kitchen island when beds with drawers underneath already exist.
Now could we please have a single room which is about 1.5m x 2m in size (mine is actually about this size) as ideas would be great. Currently I store under the bed, on the bottom of the bed (baskets which can easily be removed to change the bedding), on the walls - using strong double sided gel tape and hooks - and I removed the door and replaced it with a curtain rod which holds a curtain for privacy but also all my dresses which need to be hung up. And I have plywood over boxes containing little used items which makes shelving for make=up and accessories etc as well as books, bedside table for water, tablet etc.
The thing is the clothing will make everything look terrible, you guys/gals put clothes that match the room palette, some people have a neon pink shirts right beside a navy blue shirt and a swamp green tee to bring it all together, but the room palette is all pastel colours (yes I'm Canadian) that is the one big flaw with your design that I have.
@WakinTheDeadFan how can you live when your socks don't match your bedroom curtains? I expected you, of all people, would understand the importance of color coordination better than the average plebs, Mycroft. Disappointed.

It will look bad. You are correct. A friend of mine bought a house, gutted it and turned the upstairs into a single bedroom. Probably 12 feet by let's say 25. There is no closet. Almost everything is hung, there is 1 dresser. It's as if you just put a bed in a really large walk in closet. She's about to add even more racks to hang more clothes. It was a really clean, huge space, and now it looks super cluttered and always messy and she loves to be able to see it all. My eyes just bug out when I see it.
I find a desk more important than the storage area behind the bed. I would put the bed facing the door (a bed with storage underneath but not so high, it looks like an altar), the clothes hanger is well in place and I would put more storage under it, finally a desk for 2 people from the mirror towards the window (unfortunately the heating will cause problems when putting a desk against the wall). Another option is a functional cabin: bed on the upper level and a free space below for a clothes hanger and on the other side a good desk to work or hang out (in my case it wouldn't work because I have a pet and I like it to sleep in my bed)
I like the end result. Anyone living there would need to really cut down to the most essential, multifunctional pieces of clothing as well as becoming extremely organized. Without that I don’t think it would work.

I'm going to be moving into share accommodation with my dog, so I'll really only be able to store my stuff in my room. The bed storage and movable shelf headboard are absolutely perfect storage ideas! I'll probably also have an actual bedside table setup (on lockable wheels), since reaching behind me or knocking the bedside table drawer could end up being problematic for the glass of water I like to keep near to me during the night.

There are some good ideas here but I think better is possible. If I had this size of room for 2, I would probably opt for bunk beds or a fold-down wall bed. The limitation of not drilling any holes makes things more difficult. If possible, I would at least try to install some upper wall shelves and use the height of the room as much as possible. From above that room looks like a hot mess. How about just getting rid of alot of that crap and go minimalist? I couldn't breathe in a room like that. Closterphobia city.

those drawers under the bed are always a great idea.
I love everything about this
You should make a shelf that you can pull down so as to use more upper space. But nice video anyhow felt very comfy and nice.
You would need to drill the walls for that
galvanized square steel
Oh I read this as 1 sq m lol I was looking for a solution for my small room in my rv. I have about half the space you have in your video!
Anybody knows what software they use to made that animated room design?
Probably not the software they used, but Sketchup is useful for visualizing layout
@@C7y323 thanks
Don't know if you're still looking but of SketchUp didn't work for you, you can also try floorplanner.com
Love how you call that small, I can barely fit a single bed in mine
From above that room looks like a hot mess. How about just getting rid of alot of that crap and go minimalist? I couldn't breathe in a room like that. Closterphobia city.
It's called claustrophobia first of all

Impractical. Anyone who's actually lived in that small a space can tell you this can be done way better.
I get that not everyone can have space, but if it comes down to using kitchen islands as a bed, I think it's time to look over everything you own and decide if you really need it.
The cabinet is only half of the bed. What’s under the other half? I suppose you wouldn’t suggest a second cabinet that you can’t access.
I never realised this until this moment that they were a couple.

Just put the bed on the corner to the window and you have way more space and possibilities... who the hell is supposed to use this movable shelf and where is the desk?!
like this room, btw what is the bed name
So usually when someone lives in small apartments it means they don't have that much money to spare. So that means none of this will help because it's most likely expensive
no, because you can save up in anticipation for a move. which you should be doing already if you are moving
