Great cover! You nailed it! This was the first punk rock song I ever heard, my next door neighbor played this album on cassette for me and I totally loved this song right away, but my mom got angry that I was listening to them at my age (I believe I was 6) and made him turn it off. I remember calling into some radio stations over the next few years and requesting it, but they never played it. It wasn’t til I was about 12 and my mom chilled out on parental advisory warnings for music that I could finally get the CD and hear it again lol
your F# hack in the end of the very first chord (transition from B to G#) solved the mistery that was buzzing in my head. Thanks a whole lot, great cover =)
Man I love the tone you have on this it sounds great. What pickups do you like to use? I just recently got a bareknuckle nailbomb alnico in my les Paul and love it still trying to tweak the amp and pickup height to get the sound I want though really want something that can cover stuff like this and classic sounding stuff as well. I’m running through a Marshall dsl combo but I’m eventually gonna get a Friedman probably a be deluxe
Thanks a lot Nathaniel, I’m glad you liked the tone. I no longer have this guitar, sold it a while ago but I was using a Lollar El Rayo humbucker which was sort of a P90/Humbucker blend. Right now I’ve been sticking with the stock Humbuckers on all of my Les Pauls (Custombuckers) and I am really happy with that sound. I’m a big fan of Bareknuckle pickups too, and I’ve gotten really good results with Lollar Imperials. Can’t go wrong with a Les Paul and Marshall combo! And yes, Friedman stuff is the shit. Thanks for dropping a comment man. Cheers 🍻
I have huge problems with power chord muting like if the root note is on the A string then the E string is open and can’t not accidentally have it ruin the note
Not sure how I can help you. I guess try practicing keeping your index finger ever so slightly pressed on the open E to keep it muted. It takes some practice. Good luck bud.
Killer!!!! Question for ya... Looking for a smaller rig than my '84 jcm800 2204 and V30 loaded 4x12. Looking at Runt 20 vs Pink Taco, given your Friedman any advice either direction? Pairing with Orange 2x12 btw.
J.P. Rosentreter my first Friedman amp was an original Pink Taco, killer little amp, ran it with a 4x12 at the time for band practice at our rehearsal joint and gigged with it a couple of times with a 2x12, loud little fucker and would keep up with our loud drummer. One thing I wish it had was a dedicated clean channel or mode which that version didn’t. I believe the newer one has a voice switch but I don’t think it’s footswitchable, the Runt does. I’ve never owned one but I’ve played with one a bunch when I want to demo guitars at Guitar Center, sounds great and it’s much more versatile. If I were you I would go with the Runt and the 2x12 Orange. Good luck bud.
Completely off topic and not even a criticism, but why do so many people swap the pickguard on this BJA model? If you wanted a humbucker LPJ without the LP Special-style pickguard, why not just buy a different junior and get a P90 that fits a humbucker route? I'm curious as to the thought process. I understand its different and isn't uniform with Gibson's style, but when has that ever been Billie's style? And why would you (general use of you, not specifically you) then buy that "weird" guitar just to revert it back to the standard style?
Haha, no worries man. I got it because of the custom color, you don't see red Juniors around. I hated that large pick guard, like most people so I just made it my own. If I wanted a real Junior id get a Junior, I wanted to put this guitar together and actually made a video documenting the parts and though process on why I did it.
Late upload. Not sure why the video didn't post automatically at noon even though I had it scheduled to do so. Oh well, enjoy!
No Use For A Name I guess I can say the same. The second I heard Basket Case for the first time on MTV it was definitely life changing.
Love it. May I request private ale ? From the kerplunk album.

Very nice cover. How is the guitar tuning of this song? Not Eb i think?
Thanks, Eb.
Rock on
vegjeezy17 hell yes! 🤘🏼
What amp settings are you using ? Your tone is awesome !
Feuri thanks man. I honestly can’t remember but the guitar/amp/my recording combination has a lot more to do with it than just the amp settings.
is standard tuning?
Yeah I believe so, it’s been a while.

I think so, yeah.

Thats a dope song but it might be a little bit out of my league as with most Propagandhi songs, I'll see what I can do.
