I had the opportunity to visit John the last month of the last year he was here in AK. He had torn down much of his garden but a few things remained: red peppers, cucumbers, canteloupe, runner beans. He gave me a 6" diameter Ailsa Craig onion. We talked about a lot of things. This was in 2006. He said he was going back to Wales to take care of the family farm/estate. Now I see that he's moved to the Philippines. I bought one of his kits. It sounds like he is constantly experimenting to find what works. Bountea is a moving target- where do you get the kits anymore?
