I bought two of them right before Christmas. One for my 8 yr old nephew and one for me. Super fun to drive, jumps well, and lands rubber side down most times.
They had dozens at my local hobby town so I grabbed one and immediately took the electronics out of it and installed a Gouprc 60amp 3s esc with a Kingval 2845 can 5900kv motor with stock gearing got this little thing running 58mph. It’s super fun to play with.
Owning myself some rc`s I cant wait to give my little daughter one of these to start into the hobby😊.. Great review!
I got my daughter a LaTrax SST to start, then a Slash 4x4, now an X-Maxx. Ive created a 7 year old monster. 😏

I’ve had mine a few months and love this thing! I got the green one. I’ve put mine through the wringer in my basement and the only issue I’ve had is one of the rear out drive cups plastic teeth stripped off. So I’d recommend upgrading those. Other than that, no problems. Great little car and a great price. The best surprise for me was how long that little 1400 mah battery actually lasts. And it charges in less than an hour which is great. I easily get 20-25 minutes drive time which I personally think is pretty dam good 😂 Great video, Mark.
Picked me one up in lime green just yesterday from my local hobby shop!!! I've only got to make like one or 2 passes with it ( I work alot) but I so stoked to take it out this weekend to the park were the basher group meets. It will be my first lil basher.... I've only ever had traxxas crawlers. My first none traxxas unit...... and just unboxing and going over it yesterday it's a solid little truck....... far exceeded my expectations for the price point and damn that lil tool it comes with is awesome!! My only complaint is it can be difficult removing and reinstalling the body 💯
When this first came out I immediately went to the hobby shop and had them preorder one, I have the exact same red white and blue GROM. Best 1/18 truck I’ve ever owned and I hope they come out with more 1/18 scales like the Senton and Vortex!
To be fairer, it’s seems to be a well designed platform. Could maybe take a fast motor.
I think its perfect however… my natural rc instinct is to push it further… hahaha
I love the Grom I have 2 one is a brasher and the other is a speed beast!!!!! Happy RC’ing Y’all!!!!
A bit off topic but are there any sites that show you a complete build path to say a RC10 or any other type non RTR car? I used to race an RC10 30 years ago and when i bought my kit they had like a combo where you could buy the rest of the stuff you needed in tiers.

Get more than one battery, it s a fun truck but the top partbis a pain to attach , get bigger whells to play in the grass

I love the little tool that they added in there it’s nice to not have that little cross wrench. The diffs are gonna go after like 6or7good jumps. Def worth the 40 bucks for the metal upgrades. And esp if ur gonna go brushless. And yes with a few upgrades they are absolutely little beasts. Just needed a little push out the box.

Why is it that when I charge mine it only blinks green it doesn’t go to solid orange like the manual says so I’m unsure if I’m even charging my battery it’s been two hours still not solid green?

I was in Grand Rapids Mi yesterday. They had about 8 of those, mabe more. I was at Rider's Hobbies on 28th street and they had plenty of those. I am not sure why you were having issues getting one.

@AwakenedRC This hobby shop sells many different types of hobby items. Trains, models, planes, role playing games, etc. It is not a Specific brand store. They always seem to have whatever I see reviewed as new already in stock.

Upgrade the diffs to the new Arrma ones. I went through no joke about 20 of them before they finally were released. But I’m also running a micro x2 and a king Val 4500kv on 3s. Gets me 55 mph. It’s hilariously fun. Tried 4s and I can’t do anything with it. Just does 10 standing backflips in a row lol

Small cars is been the usual with parts avail over there & weeks away , not in this case . I 've Owned Arrma's very Lil & there's nothing wrong with them . Built as tough as the other top competitor.

How does it compare to the FMS FMT24?
I can’t believe they are sold out because the five hobby shops I go to here in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania always have them in stock maybe rc isn’t that popular in Pittsburgh and my brother has two of those and he turned one brushless and did a bunch of hop ups and it’s really fun to mess with

I love mine and all, but the differentials are plastic so mine eventually wore out prematurely and since it’s a relatively common issue, I have to wait since they are on back order😢

Will be my first arrma.
The Arma grom is just like every other Arma truck l own. For it to live up to my expectations and the level that l am on the upgrades cost far more than the truck itself. Comes out of the box suitable for a 12 year old kid. Good luck finding any upgrades for it they all have been on backorder for months. Horizon Hobby stinks. I only use them if I am absolutely cornered into doing so.

The demo unit at my local hobby shop no longer had oil filled shocks. It was covered in shock oil. My old Associated MT18 was a much better unit, but it was twice the price when it was new.

you missed out on the redcat 2 years ago almost 3 now it was a little beast upgraded to brushless 16bl30 esc decent can and all metal was a backflip monster
My only niggle with the thing is that, the body is so freaking clean I wish they would have left the text off. Just leave it as decals for you to decide if and where you want it.

What actuator did you use for the ramp?
I think those cards are so you can put them on the transmitter with a key ring so you know which transmitter goes with whatever car brother.

Can you get these in the U.S? They are listed on sites in the UK as unavailable, although hopefully coming in soon.I have broken one diff so far but they are not hard to fix.

Apples and oranges right there tho. TRX4m, high trail no less… is WAY more in value and capability than the Grom. I want both but still just size alone is not enough for fair comparison. Little simple basher vs scale crawler. Totally different.

Bc this one is based off a model that has proven itself to be great and it is made by a reputable brand that fully supports its models with spares and upgrades found in every hobby shop where it is. I don’t really care about it so I’m with you lmao. There is definitely some novelty to having a mini replica of an RC car, but that’s been done before to your point. I wish they did it to a much larger vehicle though so the difference is actually significant. A 1/24 or 1/18 Infraction/Felony would be sick.
Review a traxxas car (get bashed), review an arrma (get bashed), get the car for a review (get bashed), pay retail for it (get bashed), state the truth (get bashed) No way to win…. Hahaha! I bought this car retail when i was down south and order 3 more online. Thanks for watching though!
