Can't wait until I get to the point where I can add a wind turbine to the setup I am getting ready to install! Glad to see that it was putting out at less than 10 miles an hour! Looks like a pretty good setup....
Yeah that's what i was really looking for was under 10 mph with the test blades. They worked great. I didn't get the high wind video but at least i got the low wind video. Man, they said 60 to 70 mph winds and a possible tornado, i was ripped off, 20 mph and buckets of rain.
I am glad you didn't get a tornado! I don't need to see the output from a tornado! Thanks for showing me how it looks when you set it all up. Really cool..
Yeah, no kidding. The 60 to 70 mph winds is what i wanted to see how the test blades would work out. The rain was just coming down in buckets and kinda ruined the output anyway.
Your video quality is getting better and better. The camera is very steady and your audio picks up your voice even at a distance. I am glad that you did not get the tornado that you predicted, but you didn't seem too concerned about it yourself.
That's the most impressive system i have ever seen...wow. They must cost a fortune to build yes? Looks to me like that's enough to power a small town let alone a single home or shop? I've been watching several of your videos from up here in Canada today and I have learned allot and want to say thank you for them and perhaps help me to know what to buy and not having no knowledge about wind or solar power. Great videos.
Good update. Wish I had video of what we were calculating the other day of our freedom ii 24volt pmg. I guess I will have to buy a couple brakes soon instead of my homemade wire jumpers. Have ordered 4 new meters so maybe we can get a good video of our output. You have a great product.
Very cool. typical...ya try and get something on video and the darn wind doesn't show up or is coming from the wrong direction. Oh well. Great video and thanks for taking a minute to show us the new setup for the shop. It looks really nice.
Thanks Daniel Yeah, the wind quit on me and and decided to come from the wrong direction. It hit the end of the building and the wind turbines all faced each other and that was it. Next test for the Freedom ll wind turbine will be on the 60 foot tower. We just have to run a different cable to it.
Can there be too much wind for a wind turbine? Very clean now very professional. How does the rain effect the wind mill? What is the best spacing for wind turbines to prevent interference?
nice Jeff shame the wind did not play ball. Every time i see your power room you have changed bits in it. let me know how them blades go mate. i have a set of them here i can test with soon as well. My rebuild is getting there. damn post office takes forever to get some gear to me.
Howdy Chris I really wanted to see how those blades will do and at what wind speed they would explode if there going to. I am using the 1 kw blades on the Freedom ll PMG right now, were going to 3 today. The rain was coming down in buckets and the wind shifted from the wrong direction of course. I can only test the roof wind turbines when the wind comes from the North or South, it changed and came from the West, test over damn it.
Looks like wind speed would be multiplied like wind tunnel effect as wind is diverted up along large roof slope? How high above roof crest would recommend putting turbine? I saw your video on trees, buildings etc. was good. My barn stands high, no tall trees close 28 feet high. Frequent good winds. In Indiana.
What size wire are you using from the turbine to the brake switch, from the switch to the rectifier, from the rectifier to the charger controller, from the charge controller to your battery bank or dump load. Great to see you publishing results. Thank you Jeff.
Wind Turbine to brake switch is number 10 awg. 10 awg to the rectifier. 4 gauge from the rectifier to the charge controller. 4 gauge to the battery bank and 4 gauge to the dump loads.
I would like to see the new Falcon Mach 4 and the Freedom 2 PMA. I just picked up my 25G tower, and this setup is what I am thinking I will set on top of it. The tower will be 70'.
That sure is one hell of a set up there Jeff. Hoe I can understand it all one day. I have watched the videos for beginners a few times. Thank you for those.
i'm seeing pretty much the exact same thing with my freedom II. i'm using the 13 blade setup. the 9 blade set up seems to lag behind on power production for me. tey start slower and never seem to hit the amps my 13 blade raptures do for some reason. the main difference is the weight of the hub I think. that 13 blade hub weighs a lot more so it has enough torque to keep it going when it starts.
I understand hating to rewire every thing!! I just got finished hanging a 4x8 and re-running all the wiring!! three dual turbines(3 phase a.c.), two regular turbines(3 phase a.c.) a skymax and 5 outback flexmax 80's going to a hub and then a mate(that was the easy part. it's running the input and out put wires I hated doing)!!! then all the damned batteries and the wind charge controllers.
Hey, Jeff. Need a bridge rectifier, two of those cool looking meters. and some kind of setup to dump a 500w motor. What would this cost ? A question I noticed a black wire hanging off those meters, i assume that is a ground where do you contact it?
Wish I lived in a better area for wind, but too many trees and "dirty" wind. Have you guys considered designing a VAWT? I know they have challenges, but would really help with those of us who don't live in ideal wind areas.
Sir, your commentaries are very impressive, all of your displayed equipment as well. However, and very respectfully, Sir, you talk and talk and say nothing "in sequence" to explain to us beginners exactly why the equipment is setup the way you set it up. Consider me ignorant, and I am when it comes to wind and solar. Maybe it is my upbringing in that we were hugely brought up to accept the fact(s) of "not to play with electricity". Nonetheless, Sir, you present a huge array of equipment, with safety concerns just about vaguely non-existent. Anyways Sir, I do thank you very much for your hard work in producing this video.
I noticed there are two rectifiers in parallel for the pmg freedom were u saying that they are twin turbines with ability to be mounted in series? Or was the video about 1 turbine?
Wouldn't it be cool if you could put blades in a water spout coming off a roof? Then you'd have hydro power too. I would imagine in a large application such as a Walmart or larger building, water could be channeled to really capture some serious energy.
The wind turbines decided to turn and face each other and it killed the power. That's the problem with roof mounting several wind turbines. Mine work at North and South winds but not East or West winds.
I seen your other video on where to mount a wind turbine, and it is really good video. I didn't know the turbines could block each other to that extreme
Here's a suggestion. You should make the axial flux generator be able to mount to the roof top turbine mount currently being for the Skymax turbine. Same goes for the Freedom PMGs. What do you think.
I was wondering have you ever put a wind turban on a travel trailer? We also wonder with all the electronics will a powerful Grid down situation ruin all of this set up of eqipment? We are not rich and want ideas how to produce electricity either on the road or on the farm? We have no idea how this idea would work? I think the batteries to produce all this energy would be prohibitive but don't know? We have 3 (305 each) solar panels at and nothing else. We would like to produce enough to run an air conditioner or heater for home and for the rv. We want the right thing the first time because we don't have money to do it over again because we are retired and are on social security. We will be coming to Oklahoma for a vacation and might drive up if you think that would help and get an estimate of costs for a big enough system to sustain and ideas how to protect the equipment. My husband can weld and maybe this could be done by attaching the pole to the bumper in back of travel trailer and making a brace to bend and secure over the top which is approx. 26 ft. while traveling or a telescoping pole with bracing at the bends? Just have no idea how to go about this? I would rather email than put in comments. How do I do that?
Sorry it says it's 45.6 open volts on solar with max power of 36.9. Max current 8.39 with short circuit current of 8.9. I believe these are flexible panels with no frame. Ignorant about all this even after watching. I got a shock as a young woman and ever since I've stayed away from everything to do with electricity!
The point of turbines is to keep the bank from discharging while the solar panels aren't producing. This relates to what I see our turbines do with our 24v bank.

Thanks Richard. I am not tearing it apart again, done.
ya I don't blame ya.. wiring sucks a lot of the time.. it looks good so you may not have to...
Hugh Jaanus
Yes TANKS... that was on purpose. "Tanks" = Bigger than Thanks....
sorry will never happen :-) your an ass HEEHEE
great stuff - Freedom Wind Turbine - Freedom from the grid. Liberty.
Your video quality is getting better and better. The camera is very steady and your audio picks up your voice even at a distance. I am glad that you did not get the tornado that you predicted, but you didn't seem too concerned about it yourself.
Thank you Jeff - once I get my barn completed later this summer I'll be getting in touch with you regarding maybe 2 of the freedom 2 PMG's
Cool.
great video of your wind turbine output Missouri wind and solar. I really like your wind gage.
That's the most impressive system i have ever seen...wow. They must cost a fortune to build yes? Looks to me like that's enough to power a small town let alone a single home or shop? The weather never cooperates when you want it to.
I'll do another one soon.

MissouriWindandSolar very nice. Ill bet that sucker will really rock once it is put up on the 60 foot pole and in clean air.

Nice setup, great home wind turbines!
JEFF THIS IN LINE DIGITAL AMP+VOLTS METER IS IN YOUR WEB SITE I DON'T SEE ALSO THE CAPER LOGS THE YOU USED THEY ARE IN YOUR WEB SIDE THANK YOU.
My question was more like is 24 volt battery pack & inverter better near wind turbine at tall barn or at house where power will be used?
What size wire are you using from the turbine to the brake switch, from the switch to the rectifier, from the rectifier to the charger controller, from the charge controller to your battery bank or dump load. Great to see you publishing results. Thank you Jeff.

Thank you very much Jeff :)
Thanks for the tour of the setup, saw you producing power at 6mph, awesome. You would have set a record if you got the 70 mph wind.
I hear ya.It's going to happen, i am in tornado alley.
I would like to see the new Falcon Mach 4 and the Freedom 2 PMA. I just picked up my 25G tower, and this setup is what I am thinking I will set on top of it. The tower will be 70'.
I'll be doing one with the Falcons.
Jeff,thanks for sharing.
Your welcome Charles
That sure is one hell of a set up there Jeff. Hoe I can understand it all one day. I have watched the videos for beginners a few times. Thank you for those.
You'll get it, takes awhile.
i'm seeing pretty much the exact same thing with my freedom II. i'm using the 13 blade setup. the 9 blade set up seems to lag behind on power production for me. tey start slower and never seem to hit the amps my 13 blade raptures do for some reason. the main difference is the weight of the hub I think. that 13 blade hub weighs a lot more so it has enough torque to keep it going when it starts.

Your welcome Harley. Wished i could have gotten the big winds but that's mother nature for ya. They got them down the road though.
Hey, Jeff.
Need a bridge rectifier, two of those cool looking meters. and some kind of setup to dump a 500w motor. What would this cost ? A question I noticed a black wire hanging off those meters, i assume that is a ground where do you contact it?
The small black wire from the meter goes to the battery bank and it's a ground.
Probaly costs 100 or less

nice thanks and glad your safe,
Would vertical wind turbine be as effective and do you know of a good model?
What happen with the other two generators , are they duds?
Who makes that fancy Wind speed indicator and is it a complete weather station?
They're from Cape Cod Wind and Weather
Hi Jeff how many set ups do you run at one time under-test
Wouldn't it be cool if you could put blades in a water spout coming off a roof? Then you'd have hydro power too. I would imagine in a large application such as a Walmart or larger building, water could be channeled to really capture some serious energy.
hey Jeff, those are nice volt amp meters do you guys sell them
Super ! :)
Good job.. !!!
Greetings .. Paul P. :)
Good video-thanks!
Thanks
How far can u run the wires to your charger battery bank?
That would depend on your wire size.
why does it say 0.9 at wind speed 25mph time 5:20 I am confused
The wind turbines decided to turn and face each other and it killed the power. That's the problem with roof mounting several wind turbines. Mine work at North and South winds but not East or West winds.

Do you guys have a VAWT system at all?
No i don't.
Thank you.
what kind of battery's are those?
cdmc1984 those look like cell phone tower batteries to me. very good batteries.
You should make a VAWT. I would get one if you made one.
Well, i am working on a vawt now. Should be out this summer. It will have an axial flux generator.
Here's a suggestion. You should make the axial flux generator be able to mount to the roof top turbine mount currently being for the Skymax turbine. Same goes for the Freedom PMGs. What do you think.
96MustangBoy1 Sounds good
Thumbs up video!~~John
Thanks John, it wasn't what i wanted but i decided to run it anyway

is the raider best for slow winds like here in southern ohio. THANKS
nice............
I want you working horizontal wind turbine, but the vertical is very lazy
nice system
Thanks. It has been torn apart a hundred times i think and i am done with that.
Fine tuned it for sure! Congrats!

Bless your no leg
drain your batteries so we can see the real charge
+HyperGro DWC Drain the batteries ? That would take a couple of days.
lets do it....
lets get real data out to consumers.
+HyperGro DWC Your seeing real data.
The point of turbines is to keep the bank from discharging while the solar panels aren't producing. This relates to what I see our turbines do with our 24v bank.
