But at the same time he owns a record label which means he is investing in others in the hopes of making a profit it's the same thing
That's why when you invest in someone else's company, your not investing in the company, but your investing in that person
Prime example of what he's talking about is Fyre Fest and Ja Rule. It's easy to say shoulda, coulda, woulda on lost investments, but at least you don't accidentally stumble upon something that could ruin you.

Anybody looking to invest in dividend-paying stocks, keep in mind you need to invest a significant amount for it to be worth it. I currently do it but I’m slowly building my portfolio and haven’t reaped major benefits thus far. But patience and consistency is the game

I usually understand Iman point of view but an investment is an investment. You either got buyers remorse, needed to get liquid assets quick or were scared due to lack of knowledge of the industry. If they make 300 billion and you made 30 million off of a possible 100k to 500k investment then you would have created enough extra capital to invest in 100 apps and 1000 raps my G. All off of someone else dream and wanting to be successful. While uber was growing you could have still done your own thing because there a regular people creating Apps and services with far less than your worth. You crazy to take out all that equity out of that startup. Especially if you seen it grow quickly bruh. Arts cool and all but that seed money grew money trees.

I understand he's not the richest basketball player so having a lump some out there got him nervous because he wasn't knowledgeable of said investment. When people aren't knowledgable they get buyers remorse. Him rapping could never make him as much as that investment overtime. I say this because music is only making money for the top artist through streaming, tours, merch and outside endorsements. I had this argument with my girl the other day.... I guess it comes down to perspective.... she wanted me to invest our tax refund combined into stocks and I became infuriated.... all this hardwork I put in buying books repairing my credit (hers was already good) ... learning business structure, branding,marketing,sales, accounting, business credit/Capitol, etc.... knowing I can guarantee a $15-30k monthly profit and in the process learn what it takes to become a thriving business.... my ability to read a financial report and know what to look for in what a business is lacking in and see where the money invested can go to strengthen a weak link in the business. I make $2350 monthly and my girl with all incentives makes $3130 monthly. If I know I can guarantee over $10k monthly profit.... why not invest into me/us?... by the end of the year we will have the financial freedom to spend our money more freely.... like all rich people.... our taste gets more rich and we buy nice things like jewelry, luxury cars, designer clothing, surgical cosmetic enhancements, etc so that loose money can go to investments.... The faith and clarity comes from the knowledge..... I got about 67 books that I go through on a daily.... some are similar topics but a different author so I can figure out which author is lying.... plus I read their reviews to catch the b.s. If you can get 30k followers and make $5 PROFIT off of only 10k followers.... that's $50k easy to invest in stocks instead of buying a car or some jewelry..... or invest into property because its tangible... I hate the idea of broke people investing into others BEFORE investing in to yourself simply because they are lazy and lack knowledge and motivation. I think we should do BOTH.... but strategically I would pick me first.... remember companies would rather fuck up the stock investment dollars before they fuck up their business line of credit with the banks.
