"Space Garage." sweeeeeet... cant wait to live my best Peli Motto life.... buying used parts from "less than reputible" sources. :) (You will find me in orbit of grim hex, we offer good prices for repair.)

Hello from the Packrats we might be able to sort some deals on parts if our overheads won't be needing the parts more :)

I believe some of the original marketing for the ship was that it could link up with other Crucibles to make repair scaffolding for capital ships. So by itself it is limited, but in a group it can repair almost anything.

And the hangar scarab is a modular piece which means the Crucible could have different modules from the Hangar section later on.
Perhaps a space building ability to build small stations.

Crucible is my baby. Love the idea of leaving the scarab behind to help while the ship gets serious work done.
May not always be needed but, sure want one nearby always. May be waiting a while still, alas.
Edit: I'm also guessing salvage will require refining to be capable of the best repairs.

I picked up a CCU for the crucible because I was going to use it as a jumping point to something bigger. And then salvage came out and I absolutely love it, if repair is half as good I'm sticking with it.
The funny thing is I don't think it's going to grow as much as some people think it is, only the scarab needs to get bigger when it comes down to it.

I think it's going to get reworked into a capital ship because it was in Greybox and looked like work was moving firmly on it until the Cargo refractor. On top. Of that the entire ship is built on the old metrics. It quite literally has to grow.

It's these repair ships and the base building ships I feel need to finally get explored with in game mechanics. Repair is becoming more and more important, yet we have no dedicated repair ships! Also, what is base building going to look like if we have no base building ships? Now is the time to start production on these ships.

IMO a Crucible is one of the best buys in SC, as long as you are interested in this kind of gameplay. Useful just about anywhere.

Space mechanic is a pretty appealing profession. Hopefully they add in pve missions so you can stay in reliable business.

GR8 vid! 3 most undervalued ships: BMM @ $650, expecting $995+ FR, Endeavor @ $350, expecting chassis $650+ also expect modules price increase FR, Crucible@ $650, expecting $900+ FR. The fact that it will salvage AND tow plus probability of size increase just confirms a huge price jump at white box with another at FR. Given that Crucible is a repair ship for Capital ships, its growth seems more likely than not given the size of Javelins it will be repairing.

Just as a note, this ship is also included in the Company Package

I appreciate it. I don't normally suggest packages unless people need all the ships inside. I'll probably do a video on packages altogether and their values soon.

This ship is absolutely on my list of ships to get eventually! Maybe it'll go on sale at some point. After watching your vulcan review that one may be more my speed, but I love the workshop this thing can drag around.

11:00 Did you forget about the BMM? It was 90m and 250$ at Concept too and sits now at 230-240m and 650$ as far as I know. I expect the Crucible to end up somewhere around 150m.

The Crucilble will grow in size like you said but so will its price so its an excellent CCU chain(ignore the F8). I personnally have 3 and 2 Endevours for CCU'ing. Ugh...I need help lol

I was working between 8 and 9 myself. Only reason it loses a star is the frequency its primary function will be used is very situational and perhaps heavily crew dependent to get max use out of. That said, you'd buy it specifically for those situations. The fact that it can salvage and has some cargo capacity also gives it some use during "downtime", which lead me to finally give it a 9 as well. I did not know/remember about the salvage ability of the ship so great info there.
I keep a CCU for it on hand for when that day arrives and the loaner for it is the Connie Andromeda so useful ship to fly right now too.

Totally love the idea of the ship. I also don't think the Vulcan is even close to the capabilities the Crucible offers, but has other advantages, so you can very well own and use both of them.

This is one the few ships in SC that I just do not know if it will be worth it or not. I am so on the fence.

If it doesn't turn out to be the capital, I'd be ok with that. It's got so much going on, already.

Awesome look at an essential ship, i would have bought the ship however my org stopped me since we already have two in our org. I see two of these ships beside a galaxy with med bed or an Apollo sitting a quantum jump away from the main battle. I would look strongly into an org before buying large ships however when buying a large unreleased ship will give you a great price. I always like of the Hull D pricing compared to the Hull C.
This ship is a must in order to last in battles upon the game/ship release. The work benches and ability to scrap as well as repair will make it one of if not the best support ship. Even though a medical ship is important I think having the ability to repair ships to get them back in the fight will be the most important job. It would suck to get almost killed by a torpedo just to have to slow limp back to a port to repair which may take an hour plus with damaged components. Having a Crucible a jump point away will be so important.
I hate to giving an unreleased ship a 10/10 but I believe this ship is best bang for buck.
A galaxy which needs a separate module to be equipped to be effective ($50-$90 each)
Just make sure to know that this ship will need an Org to be effective. This will need high end supplies and weapons including missiles and torpedo plus ballistic ammo for anyone you want to repair. Drop ships can come full of treasure then use the work benches to upgrade and fix weapons and armour. You will be busy taking care of everything minus fueling and medical.
If you have the money this ship is amazing, just keep in mind you will need a lot of friends unless you want to be a roaming garage in the peaceful lands. Then and only then will you be able to solo this ship.
