Bermuda is a great place to visit. You can find more of my Bermuda travel information here goo.gl/87Qtw8. Unlike islands in the Caribbean, Bermuda is due east of the United States. Keep that in mind, as Bermuda is not warm all year. Tourists cannot rent cars on Bermuda. Tourists can only rent mopeds or take a bus or taxi. The food is Bermuda is amazing. Bermudian Fish Chowder is my favorite dish. Their Rum Swizzle drink is awesome too! We just got back from Bermuda. Great island
We rented a mini elec car and did the whole island.
Beaches, caves, swizzle inn,

Last year we rented an electric car called a Renault Twizzy and that worked out pretty well.
Bermuda didn’t have the Twizzie when I was there but I’ll have to check out da Twizzle fo Shizzle! 🇧🇲

Seeing as to how 98% of cruises to Bermuda dock in Kings Warf/West End, you failed to mention taking the Ferry over to Hamilton (Capitol of Bermuda). Very inexpensive and run pretty often. Trip to Hamilton on the ferry fast so you can shop and or eat there then take the bus back and the bus drivers can tell you about the many beaches along the way.
That’s a great tip. I love riding mopeds from tip-to-tip though. Did you know that mopeds will fir on some of the ferries too?
@@IrixGuy And on the three cruises I've done there, I rented SCOOTERS as well, going from tip to tip of the 23 mile long main island. I would always rent a scooter but for those that can't or don't want to, the ferry/bus combo is a great option! Not sure if you could call them Mopeds since they don't have pedals!

Great question! That’s one of the few beaches in Bermuda that I have not visited.

+1Nyletak Car rentals are not allowed. Cars are for Bermudians only. You can ride buses and/or taxis though.

Me Nd my sister and mom wanna go to Bermuda. But we can’t rent a car that’s weird. But a moped that’s like a bike right
No car rentals in Bermuda unless you are Bermudian. Taxis in Bermuda are expensive but the buses are affordable with limited routes. A moped is a lot like a motorcycle.
The island isn't that big. Everything can be reached by bus and ferry.
A moped and a scooter are not the same. A moped you can pedal or use the motor, a scooter is much like a motorcycle it runs completely on a motor.

as a Bermudian, do not put your purse or valuables in your scooter basket...it'll most likely be snatched by a passing scooter.

I know you said about the mopeds... but I wonder if they have golf cart too... cuz I'm traveling with my mother and her friend ... and they are senior citizen ... and I really cant imagine they riding a moped ...lol
Thank you. Unfortunately, unless you're on a golf course, taxi, bus or mopeds will be your only option. Only citizens are allowed to drive cars, so there are no rental car agencies on the island for tourists. How expensive is the food in bermuda. Wife and i taking a cruise in a couple months . and thanks for sharing information.
Super expensive but super delicious. PRO TIP: Pay to check a bag and load it up with non-perishable food items. I did that to eat breakfast on the cheap. Lunch is the most affordable meal. Eat a nice lunch the. Graze for dinner.

It's really expensive to live here and the added influx of people building and buying makes it even more expensive for the rest of us. A basic house can be around a million, and basic groceries start at $100.

Been to Bermuda several times and this is a great video of some of the top places to check out! I was surprised that he didn't include Front Street as this is a popular place for shopping, nightlife, and some of the best restaurants on the island. I'm a huge fan of the following restaurants with the first being a must-go: Mad Hatter, 1609 (in season), Port-O-Cal, Red's (best steak), and Pickled Onion. I could rattle off more but these are all top notch. Oh - if you're in the mood for pub food with a balcony, Flanagan's is the place to go. Awesome wahoo bites as an appetizer.
Definitely go to the Swizzle Inn as he mentioned. The rum swizzles are a different recipe than elsewhere on the island and quite potent! If you do go to Horseshoe Bay, make sure to explore the coves to the East of the main beach. You feel like you're discovering a secret beach the whole walk!
If you're visiting in March-April, whale watching is a great time! I went in 2016. Tour guides were great. Just make sure to take some dramamine if you get sea-sick easily! The tour was in the neighborhood of $100 a person but well worth the price.

+SKBenergy Awesome! Yeah, cars are for residents only and they are limited to one car per household of a certain size I think. Most all of the locals drive mopeds or motorcycles too.

Actually there are loopholes to that rule and plenty of locals may have more than one car. They'll just have to be registered to a different house, so apartments get around that.
Can you tell me how long ahead I should book the mopeds we are cruising July 2019 with 65 people we will be on the Norwegian escape We also want to rent jet skis and swim with dolphins

LOL if you think that’s expensive, try taking a taxi in Bermuda. Mopeds are the affordable way to travel Bermuda. Rental cars are unavailable in Bermuda for tourists. 🇧🇲
What is your opinion of best place to stay. We were looking at Grotto inn. Planning on weeks stay next August. Any help is much appreciated

The minimum age for anyone to rent a moped is 16 yrs of age - the person must provide proof of driving skills (your current license from your home country) will usually suffice. Most rental venues will give you a test drive on a moped to see how comfortable you are, this is your chance to judge if riding a moped is for you - or not.
The locals are very aware of the rental moped (the red letters/numbers indicate a rental) and will look out for you - and in most cases they will go wide to overtake and avoid you. We (the locals) watch out for you and your safety.
+T E Well said and very true! I had the test drive every time that I rented a moped from Oleander Cycles. Bermudians are some of the friendliest people that I have ever met and they do indeed look out for you! #Bermuda
We are taught to be friendly to others due to the fact that often it is the tourist dollar that feeds our families. So in essence it pays to be nice to strangers and we are brought up with that in mind, or back in the old days you would have gotten a good smack for not paying attention and being polite.

It can be very dangerous but I wouldn't choose to experience Bermuda any other way. Mopeds are so much fun in #Bermuda
Have sat at Swizzle Inn while medics and police took a tourist away in an ambulance. We use the buses so we can see the scenery and not have to watch the traffic on the wrong side of the road
Exiting the Swizzle Inn on a moped stone sober is dangerous. Take the typical tourist after a few rum swizzles and it can be fatal.
They were on the road not into the Swizzle at all. There are injuries from bikes everyday and even deaths. Road rash can spoil your holiday. Again I say we prefer to ride the bus and be able to see the scenery not have to watch traffic that drives on the wrong side of the road.
Be careful! A lot of Tourist always hurt their self’s/ die on mopeds in bermuda. Also it rains often randomly in bermy so you’ll have to stop constantly to put ur rain coat on😭

Not sure. Americans can’t even rent a car in Bermuda to my knowledge.
We don't have car rental business here. We now have something called twizzy which is a three wheeled vehicle. But ideally you should take the ferry, take it from a local.

I loved Bermuda. Maybe you are thinking the Bahamas, not great there
