Funkiest, baaaadest laid down jam evah!
I saw him 1968 at the Apollo. The James Brown Revue!!!
His band was absolutely amazing!!!
Mr. Brown Had The Funkiest Band Alive!
I'm a senior now but there will never be music like his again there was a time I would dance all night and I could dance
THE BAND IS ON FIRE ✊🏿
WOOOO no better band than this band in HISTORY!!!
RIP James Brown the hardest working man in Show business
Meilleur concert de james apollo juin 1967..
The Godfather just gave you a different version of everything, nothing was never the same. That's why he was so great and different from other entertainers. He put his stuff together right there on the stage. That's why all the band members had to keep their eyes on him. Everything was did off of him there was no music wrote. There were times the words in his songs were different. Wasn't because he forgot them he just never gave you the same old thang over and over. The man was a genius on and off the stage. Caught every missed note and beat that wasn't made. Probably why his bands were always so good.
The best show ever !! The real & pure james brown style..powerful and dynamite !! Everybody went to school to know what it was ! Anthologic james brown Apollo 68'
It’s actually from the Apollo in 1967, it was released in 1968.
Simply the best ever!!!!
The jangling of those rethym guitars in the background is the shit.
There was a Time when James Brown
was the hard workin'
Mister Dynamite.
best james brown tune of all time
Pur soul!!!!
So funky as it isn't rushed just I. The pocket
Loved this version so much better than post 68 versions
James brown at Boston Gardens is another great example
❤
James was the luckiest to have boots Collins and his brother to play the strings....
Great chanks from Mr Nolan again 🤘👌🤘👌
Captivating. 👍👍👍
Meilleur morceaux de James Brown
I played guitar in a band with a Bari player who player w James a Maceo around this time… he may be on this recording…he was from Boston his name was Emmitt Simmons …
C magnifique merci pour le partage
Je vous en prie
I am burning !
Relíquia do soul
Am i right in saying this was when James Brown first created this song? He just made up the lyrics and the band never heard it before and just went with the groove????
he lynched them !!!!
Just think if he would kept his band members together, especially the sixties band members. You talking about being untouchable for years.
He'd have to pay them on time though.
James Brown from the 60’s would look fresh with a modern day temp fade😂
@@coryman4245 Next? Shit, he's in front of him!

From 5:30 to 6:01 that is pure stink syncopated funk.
So used to hearing the other edit, this feels baggy. Still good, nice to hear something new to me anyway, as this is a favourite.
Obviously this is a classic but what’s disappointing about it is the drums are way too far back in the mix. The version on “live in Dallas” 1968 smokes this version. Faster, harder, and the drums are so much better. I actually prefer “let yourself go” on live at the Apollo volume two, the song that preceded this, more than I do “there was a time”.
It actually sounds killer with some good headphones on. Hard to believe this band was cranking out this much noise way back in 1967. James brown was a pioneer and was blessed with a fantastic band. Hes right up there with Elvis period
@@corykassabian8839 James Brown was way more influential than Elvis. Elvis was more commercially popular, but he didn’t create any actual genre. He followed in the footsteps of Little Richard and Chuck Berry and others. James Brown actually created a genre basically singlehandedly created funk.
@@PaulDA2000 well idk if I would say all that.. i love Elvis he is a special one of a kind entertainer. James Burton said they had to drag James Brown out of Elvis's viewing cause he spent all day in there grieving.. John Lennon said before Elvis there was no one and Keith Richards said he wanted to be Scotty Moore. But I love James Brown just as much hes great
@@corykassabian8839 I forgot I had uploaded this, this after re-doing it with greater stereo separation, now I've done it, might as well upload it, will be public later 2nite.
@@SoulOnTopJB would love to hear that thank you
Don’t you feel it coming on 🤣
Posted my comments a loooong time ago!! It ain't even on here anymore! What're you gonna do about that?
Do you think your special and that I can recall your looong time ago comments, I ain't going to do anything about it, not only because I can't, I've no idea what they were 🥊🥋
@@SoulOnTopJB Yes. My comments were very relevant. Do you recall 1967 at The Apollo? I do . . . very clearly! You were not trying to offer any opinion on The King, or his band, The James Brown Orchestra?
I DON'T DELETE comments unless they are antagonistic, UA-cam also blocks comments for unknown reasons, The End.
@@SoulOnTopJB Well, again, my original comments (the ones that I made a looong time ago) again, where are they? What happened to them? They were posted on this site, by UA-cam! What you gonna do 'bout that . . . Mr. (knowledged) commentator.
@lsfo Listen fella, sometimes my comments disappear, as regards to your comments, like I said, I AIN'T DOING NUFFINK, you understand, I will delete all these comments in due course, and if you ever whine like miffed child again about YT comments, I'll block yo a$$l
