i am so jealous of this. I dont have a license yet but found out about ham radio about a year ago and already have learned much. Now i am trying to find a date to take the test for the license.

Sick looking rig. I had an old old V1 for ages until I finally gave it to a family friend. They have fantastic support and are all around a good company. Its really neat to see all the new features they have.
I think SDR++ is perfect for a tablet. I have it on my phone and it feels a bit too cluttered with the small screen.

I used to love listening to scanners as a kid growing up in Phoenix. I would listen to aircraft as well, but since Phoenix went digital, I cannot figure it out. I spent $700 on a digital radio only to sell it a couple years later, cause I could not figure out how to get it to work. I even had the place I bought it from program, but I could not understand the transmissions. It sounded like it was garbled. I also didn’t know how to follow a call. I used to be really simple. They had a channel chase as they called it, which was channel one and then all the precincts had their own channel when emergency traffic came out let’s say for the seventh precinct they would switch to channel one and they would work the traffic on channel one and you could hear all sides of the Conversation, if you have any knowledge on how I could do this again I’d be happy to pay for your time. Thank you.

Sounds like encryption. If you got a digital scanner that does p25 phase one and two, and you still hear garbled mess… it’s encryption, but there’s plenty of other things to listen too,
Look up radioreference.com and put in your county. It will show all the local frequency you can put into your scanner

Hello from Phoenix, Arizona. This is some cool stuff I love gadgets. I don’t have my ham license. I’ve been looking at GRMS lately very powerful 50 W radios that you can put in your car. They work on the repeater system and you don’t have to take a test. You need a license but it’s a 10 year license for $35 coverage your whole family. I’m sure you know all about it, anyway, looking forward to more videos

You got messing around with CB radio, got bit by the cb bug.

That's what happend to me too.
The drug of CB that's how it starts, just 4 watts and 40 channels that's all it takes to get hooked for life.
Now it's crossband this HF that and some ISS when you think you can get away with it.
