There was Louis, Duke, Mississippi John Hurt, Hank Williams, Stevie, Paul/John, Bowie, Kurt, and other modern greats I'm not hip to etc. They just keep on coming and its great!
Dylan DID play piano in Bobby Vee's band for about 2 weeks in 1959. When Bobby Vee first went on tour a scout went ahead and would recruit local musicians for that leg of the tour. It was a way to keep costs down. in 1962 or 1963 Dylan went to visit Vee in New York when Vee was performing (Dylan wrote that in his book Chronicle's Vol.1 and made a big point to include that). They've always had a soft spot for each other.
