tommy is a unique musician. he has perfected a sound like no other. look at all the extra money he has made, by not paying a band. he is the band. I love him. he is the best.
So much emotion and feel in his playing.. im glad to have seen him live in Liverpool it was incredible made me laugh, cry and feel most of all feel inspired to be a better musician, thanks Tommy I owe you one!
That's not just music... it's entertainment. Nice job Tommy. Wish I could do that. I heard bass, drums, acoustic guitar, and vocals all from the same guy.
As always....Tommy is awesome! I wondered why there was so much chatting going on out in the audience though? That's rude, especially when such an extraordinary talent is performing....
Do you really think people who listen to top 40 country, or what ever it's called now days knows the difference,? They don't. They really don't. I happen to drive to Oklahoma the 7th of Dec. and listened to the country radio stations on the way. Ha. When they deregulated Radio and the FCC rules, and lawyers and bankers started programming stations this is what it has eventually come to. Well how long did it take for them to destroy the USA? For you novice's it's like this. I go to Jerry Jones the Owner of the Dallas Cowboy's football team. And I say Jerry I'll give you 20 million dollars if I can play Quarterback. You would think, why that's crazy. But what if he said ok I'll take it, now that's real crazy. ha ha ha. That's how it works in top 40 country music. It makes not one bit of difference if you have ever played qback to these people are not. See, it use to matter, that's why you had so many one hit wonders. If you had a great song they would play it. Now the music, all of it, is awful.
Incredible!!! I would give give my left and right hand to play very less than as half as good as Tommy! But I won't do this really, 'coz then I could 'nt torture my guitars any longer... ;-). Thanks to Tommy! KEEP ON FOR THE NEXT THOUSAND YEARS, PLEASE!
Never been to Nashville. Hope to go someday. I'm guessing the Big Stage is a club venue, not a concert venue. Tommy doesn't seem to mind playing for a bunch of drunks talking over him, so I won't either. He still commands attention. This was probably a fun night. But I'm glad I wasn't there because I'd rather be listening talking. I'll look for a Tommy concert, rather than a club show.
Do the people in these venues ever really grasp how lucky they are to see this man perform in front of them? The level of disrespect they show whenever he plays (usually) is insulting.
This is Nashville. He is not Kenny Rogers or Kenny Chesney so he's not "one of the greats". Just like football is no longer a sport, music of this caliber is just another "entertainment act" in Nashville. Nashville musicians love this as do the fans but Tommy obviously has not paid homage to the great (talentless) Nashville elite. Hint: try Austin for a REAL music experience. Tommy's there all the time.
everybody shut up with the crowd are rubbish comments. it's not like a strict thing where everyone must sit like their in church for god's sake. what they should all sit reverently like stones? it's called music, entertainment. even tommy says he doesn't want to impress the musicians. musicians are the ones who are likely to sit and watch every note. that's worse. maybe the tables are set out like in a jazz club. people should be free to enjoy music as they see fit. he's not playing quiet songs
I play with Maton Guitars by some years now so I think I can say a word about it by personal experience. The Maton woods seems to bring a good sound after some time. Remember these are guitars born around a Pickup, and not the reverse. I personally like the old APmic more than the new AP5 original/Pro. I tried a lot of new Messiah/TE/808 which in store sounds plastic (even on new AER's, Fishman's and so forth), no good high frequencies, a lot of low-mid explosive sound which is kinda punchy and cool but doesn't bring a balance sound to my hear. On the other hand my very old 808 Artist has that very woody and acoustic sound, you bring the mic volume up and you feel the guitar is like coming to life and is overall balanced, kinda has a reverb sound by its own if you go up on the neck and is getting better and better every year. I bought a EM325c with AP5 four years ago by purpose not liking the overall sound, it was a plastic dull but with a good fatty sound. After some time became a pleasure to play, the sound is warm and feels "complete", It has everything you want to hear, everything you play on it now just is a pleasure. I think Tommy's guitars need a little bit of time... :D
Tiziano Natale I agree, I think you're right. I have a maton808te with ap5pro and love the sound (check my channel), cant wait for it to age A bit more for that extra woody tone.
Great playing! From your video of Ava Awaits that's exactly the sound with the new Maton's that you hear when the guitar is brand new or almost. It feels kinda "softy" (though doesn't seem "plastic" like the new Messiah!) on high end and the brightness comes before the full sound, with the big bass and mid range exploding (I can hear that on your Blood Brothers video even better). With time it will take more depth and the wood getting older will give more "mature" sound! Keep it up and cheers!
The people talking in this video probably can't play an instrument so they don't appreciate Tommy's skill! I wish they would go some where else to talk!
BUTTERS Brian Popo The Platters' version isna up to much either. Tom Jones' version is by far the best. Fabulous guitarist though Tommy is, his vocals aren't so hot. It's particularly noticeable in 16 tons in which his vocals are completely devoid of any feeling. At times he seems to get carried away by his technical virtuosity on the guitar (although I didna notice too much of that in 16 tons).
Tommy Emmanuel is the best two guitarists I've ever seen!
He counts as two ?
@@ahdamn90 counts as 4 musicians if you think about it. Bassist, rhythm guitarist, lead guitarist and a drummer. Tommy Emmanuel, ladies and gentlemen.
🪒🛎🔨💫
if i get 1/16 as good as tommy, ill be happy in life
Wowwwww, love Tommy Emmanuel, and love this song. Shared by a colleague. I'm in heaven right now!
what a legend
Some guitar , some character, some playing, some shirt!!!
Great as always
tommy is a unique musician. he has perfected a sound like no other. look at all the extra money he has made, by not paying a band. he is the band. I love him. he is the best.
I'm blown away every time.
He never fails to astonish.
High definition picture, best guitarist in the world but what the hell is with the audience? Shut up!
Yes he has always been my favorite player. If there is one better, WHO?
An Amazing guy! shame so many people there didn't appreciate him too much yapping to be heard!
So much emotion and feel in his playing.. im glad to have seen him live in Liverpool it was incredible made me laugh, cry and feel most of all feel inspired to be a better musician, thanks Tommy I owe you one!
When I met Tommy he was playing drums. Great drummer also. Very nice man and touring New Zealand in Sept 2017.
Years go by, and he just keeps getting better... Amazing !
amazing performance... brilliant showmanship... phenom. guitar playing.. total does as total is...
This is just so joyful.
he has a unique style. one of kind. I love these songs.
That's not just music... it's entertainment. Nice job Tommy. Wish I could do that. I heard bass, drums, acoustic guitar, and vocals all from the same guy.
Only Tommy can make E-A-B sound like that......
As always....Tommy is awesome! I wondered why there was so much chatting going on out in the audience though? That's rude, especially when such an extraordinary talent is performing....

:'( i feel you....
those people! >:(
Agree. Some people can be rude. No matter what. Even before Jesus.
Wow, love this version!
That is just so incredibly good. wow this guy....
Fantastic as usual
tommy is incredibly awesome, and i also love that shirt he's wearing! :D
Way to keep Merle's music alive!
Amen, man!
Saw him doing this last night in Darwin. Thanks Tommy!
This guy's a bloody genius.
TE brilliant as usual. Reminds of the scene in Blues Brothers (Bob's Country Bunker)
amazing!!!
I love it that you took the bait, let's reeeeeel in!
magnificent entertainer.
Incredible!!! I would give give my left and right hand to play very less than as half as good as Tommy! But I won't do this really, 'coz then I could 'nt torture my guitars any longer... ;-). Thanks to Tommy! KEEP ON FOR THE NEXT THOUSAND YEARS, PLEASE!
incredible guy
GREAT !!!!!!
This man puts his heart and soul into playing, and the audience isn't even paying attention. Sad.
Love it
Love this style!! In the tradition of Merle Travis, he is the best. Tommy dominates his guitar!!
What country is it where an audience watches a great musician like Tommy and talks and screams all through?
Tommy è unico
Un chitarrista dalla musica nel sangue
Il ritmo ce l ha nel corpo ed è una potenza quando suona
Lui sa che la chitarra la fa suonare
uaah 💥🎸💥🎸💥🎸💥🐻👍

3:24: He's so cool!
one of the best guitar players on the planet. Cant sing for shit
Oh my goodness! Those folks in the audience really needed to shut up. How rude!
Excellent!
Do the people in these venues ever really grasp how lucky they are to see this man perform in front of them? The level of disrespect they show whenever he plays (usually) is insulting.
Let's go back further ,look up big bill boonzey
@koensieben622 Got it added in the title now, thank's, I appriciate all the help I can get in getting titles right on the videos I take.
Who the fuck is talking during this!
This is Nashville. He is not Kenny Rogers or Kenny Chesney so he's not "one of the greats". Wow, even geniuses like Tommy have to endure terrible sound and rude audiences:(
Its full of feel and heart and quite frankly ridiculous... I..i,, piff...
everybody shut up with the crowd are rubbish comments. it's not like a strict thing where everyone must sit like their in church for god's sake. what they should all sit reverently like stones? it's called music, entertainment. even tommy says he doesn't want to impress the musicians. musicians are the ones who are likely to sit and watch every note. that's worse. maybe the tables are set out like in a jazz club. people should be free to enjoy music as they see fit. he's not playing quiet songs
PEARLS TO SWINE!
Marcel Dadi !
6:13 - 6:26 Gawd!
This guitar actually sounds better than his newer ones anno 2017 I think

@tif70 Well, he ís a decent drummer actually!:-) He plays drums too!
The people talking in this video probably can't play an instrument so they don't appreciate Tommy's skill! I wish they would go some where else to talk!
No need for them drums lads... Tommy's in!!!
@koensieben622 this version of nine pound hammer is freakin amazing, stop b*tching about the title!
your missing ''saturday night shuffle'' in your title:)
At times it sounds like he's playing 3 guitars at once.
not ungrateful, drunk!
I hate it when people are talking and yacking while I'm performing.. they should leave and go to a bar.
He was just telling the uploader that he missed the name, get over it.
definitely not that public anyway.
Why go to a show like this and talk the whole way through?
Depois dizem que brasileiro é mal educado... Um artista desse naipe, tocando desse modo assustador, e a platéia desatenta e barulhenta.
RUBBISH VERSION GO AND HEAR THE PLATTERS VERSION
BUTTERS Brian Popo

it is a great pity he performs for chattering parrots
Must be old.... this version does nothing for me. There's more to a song than a lot of notes played fast.
wow, must americans always talk while someone is performing?jesus...
they all seem like knockoffs of ernie ford's version
+Lefty Dunne Tommy has been playing this almost 50 years now.
worst audience ever!
Pretty crappy 'bait' if you ask me, proberbly one of the worst jokes/whatever it was that I've heard for quite some time...
