why to calculate this much just for a practical administration of drug
we have a alternative to that like simply we will calculate the dose for 2ml n then if we have 1ml syringe we’ll just divide the dose by 2
1.44ml in 2ml of injection for 1ml it will come around 0.72

I guess I've a simpler method
Dilution over strength multiplied by dose multipled by weight
Usually inj amikacin come in 100mg in vol of 2ml.....And it's practiced as 15 mg per kg so here is final dose
2÷100×15×3= 0.9
Inj Amikacin 100 given iv In BD so that we simply devide 0.9 by 2
Hence dose for inj Amikacin 100mg for baby of 3kg would be 45 units or 0.45cc IV BD 🎉

you can apply youngs formula
age upon age+12 into adult dose
it will come around 3/15*150=30mg

There is no fixed ml according to mg,, it depends upon the drug,, need to check the strength before administring the dose

Md ji your calculation is incomplete.because of that .dr.prescribed 36mg / 36hr of amikacin. So we can devide the final dose in to two dose or 12 * 12 * 12 * = 36 mg
