- 2019 explorer, 3.5 N/A 6 cylinder. Intermittent start issues. Fuel pump was replaced by Ford 6 months after we had it. Sometimes the car starts up fine. Sometimes it cranks and cranks like in the beginning of the video. No CEL or codes thrown.
I’m case anyone is wondering I tried the Fuel Pump driver first and it didn’t work. Changed the fuel pump assembly and that fixed it.
has the problem continued or did the fuel pump assembly fix the problem? I have the same issue with my 2019.
@@adamwilson9125 the fuel pump assembly fixed the issue. She’s been running great ever since.
So you had to drop the fuel tank and replace the fuel pump?
@@willlard3981 yes. It wasn’t that difficult for me as it’s a FWD base model so there is no driveshaft only exhaust.
Im having the same issue with my 2018 explorer.
I took it to the local mechanic. At first theytold mee it was the fuel pump, then they told me it was an electrical issue, then they told me its not getting enough air 🫣.
I'm so confused. I took it from the mechanic as its been starting fine but im afraid to drive it to far from home, in case it doesn't start again.
Weird for 2019 cars tbh
Yes that’s what I thought also. Especially since that was the second time the fuel pump had to be replaced. So far it’s been great since then.
