two legends of my most favourite bands Maiden and Tull ! I am 50 years old and have tears in my eyes, so glad to see that Folkrock and Heavy Metal never die !!!
Bruce is amazing singer. Jerusalem is gorgeous song. This performance is awesome for all the musicians. However (not a flame war), I personally do not consider IM as the "best rock band ever walked on the earth". I do love Black Sabbath better.
I wandered through each chartered street, Near where the chartered Thames does flow, A mark in every face I meet, Marks of weakness, marks of woe. In every cry of every man, In every infant's cry of fear, In every voice, in every ban, The mind-forged manacles I hear: How the chimney-sweeper's cry Every blackening church appals, And the hapless soldier's sigh Runs in blood down palace-walls. But most, through midnight streets I hear How the youthful harlot's curse Blasts the new-born infant's tear, And blights with plagues the marriage-hearse.
I was there and I almost cried when he started singing like that. Amazing voice, amazing song, amazing acoustic, amazing flute, amazing mix.... The best christmas concert I've ever been.
Hmm. I see that my comment has been deleted. WHAT'S WRONG WITH EXPRESSING MY FEELINGS TO AN AMAZING SINGER?! TELL ME. I didn't say anything bad whatsoever. Heck, I praise DIckinson and Anderson probably more than anyone here!
This song isn't really Bruce's. Emerson, Lake & Palmer did this song back in I think 1973 as a "cover" of Hubert Parry's English/patriotic hymn that dates back to the early 20th century (1916 or 1917 if I recall correctly). It's based on Blake's poem called " and did these feet in ancient time."
no disrespect to anderson or jethro tull, but Iron Maiden is WAY bigger than they are these days. also, they're playing a song from one of Dickinson's solo albums, that probably has something to do with it as well.
In all the truth it should be presented as Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden) and Ian Anderson (none band name) because whoever knows a bit of music is well aware about who mr. Anderson is and what he did along his career.
Bruce Dickinson. The man who can dress up like a grandpa and still kill with a single note from his throat. Next to one of the greatest legends in rock music... awesome!!!
I think that's the point, Bruce Dickinson is known much more widely in popular culture, not just among people whose musical tastes extend beyond today's mainstream
5:13 "caught somewhere in time" I see what u did there Bruce. :D

The best thing about Bruce's performance is that he came dressed as a cab driver.
Best to be yourself. Who is that guy on the bass again? He is from a famous band. Argh

Wow, Bruce sounds great. He needs to sing in an acoustic setting more often.
The powerful Bruce's voice, together with anderson's talent = PERFECT SONG

This song is credited to Dickinson. The melody can't be the same.
