Evans Hydraulic RED Snare Drumhead: Reasons To Change Your Mind | Sound Check

If you are skeptical about using COLORED coated heads on your drums especially the snare drum, then this should convince you otherwise.
In this video, I did a sound review of the Evans Hydraulic Red coated snare drumhead. The sound check was done with the snare drum tuned to a super low pitch and up to a high pitch.
The head used was provided by Harmonix Music

What reso head would you recommend with the hydraulic? Do you think the evans 500 would be too dead?

I think you are right on the Evans hazy 500 for a hydraulic batter head. I use Evans Hazy 300 for virtually all my snare drums
