@@hawk12983 Perfect. Let me be nuts then. Just watched it again for the 65 millionth time (on VHS nonetheless) and I still feel the same about it. The first 2 are the only ones that are masterpieces though. Number 3 is trash.
Back in 1997, prior to the release of the movie, when I was only 12 years old, I would record random TV (news, sitcoms, etc..) in hopes of catching the trailer for the movie. Internet wasn't a thing back then.
Love this movie. Jurassic Park is the best one but this is the best sequel. I don't know why so many don't like this movie because I really think it's great. Dark and scary movie.
The problem is film is subjective even when a movie is great people still won't admit it's great just to be hard headed.. it's been proven by scientists that Jaws and Jurassic Park are cinematic masterpieces with nearly nothing wrong with either of them.. and the lost world jurassic park is an underrated sequel with noticeable problems nowhere near as great as Jaws or Jurassic Park but still a great movie.. this has all been studied by scientists it's not just my personal byist..
I remember watching the lost world on vhs for the first time and I absolutely feel in love with it . I remember one time me and my babysitter watched it And she and I loved the dinosaur action.
I can’t believe this movie came out 25 years ago, and at the time all these TV ads kept airing on all channels day after day. This one was just as good as its predecessor for all the new dinosaurs introduced and everything.
@Jurassic1993Park If I am not mistaken I think some theaters flashed their lights on and off during the preview to simulate lightning an turned the volume up to give the teaser the full effect, but you're right , it's a great teaser
i dont know why people dislike this movie i thought it was awesome too see dinosaurs out of their enclosures and walking around in my opinnion more dinos made for more Fun
I saw the first Jurassic Park when I was 4 on VHS and it instantly became my favorite film of all time. Then when I was 5 I saw Jurassic Park III in theaters (loved it as well) and the following year I saw The Lost World Jurassic Park and then all three movies became a three way tie for the best film of all time.
I taped many TLW tv spots back then and I remember a tv spot where you saw only the spikes puncturing the hollow tree and there was no Sarah Harding in it. There was also a making of special that showed a piece of footage of the Triceratops with a burning tarp running across the camp with workers fleeing. It was cut from the film.
I remember being 14 and went to watch Mars Attacks at the cinema with my friend in March 97. The teaser with the T.rex was shown and we both lost our shit! We had waited 4 years for a sequel!
I know that everybody that "reads the book" says this, but the books were so much better, and way more terrifying. These movies seem almost "child-friendly" compared to the books. And Jurassic Park is one of my all time favorite movies.
Japheth19 if you want to make the most money you need to sell the tickets and if half your audience is under age to get in that cuts ticket sales in half soooooo get it
Is the first trailer a TV spot or just a teaser? I have this intense memory of seeing it late at night on the TV at home and I recall being so amazed and excited for it. I believe it was the first sequel I had ever been looking forward to and being there wasn't much internet then, seeing it just sent a spark of delight through me as a child. Though I remember it very differently, like the "Something. Has. Survived." part was there, but the T-Rex roars into the camera instead.
It was in theaters but I think it also played during the super bowl. Unfortunately I missed it, so it could have been a different trailer during the super bowl.
I love all of the jurassic movies, and enjoyed them growing up but now that I know the background of these movies I need to ask, why didn't they stick closer to the book for this movie hell the book was written to be turned into a movie and had some of the most badass dinosaurs in it
as a narrative it wasn't the strongest plot. it had great action, a lot of the characters were neat and the dinos rocked but the plot was very weak. The movie plot wasn't terrific either but i think it worked for film much better than what crichton wrote.
I don't know why they didn't use the classic t rex roar in that teaser. I remember seeing it back in 97 as a kid and being so shocked. I didn't even know they were making a sequel.
The sound designer has the answer for that. They said they wanted to have another roar for the male rex in this film. You can hear this roar from time to time from both the rexes though, the most notable is when the female rex makes it's first appearance by the trailers.
If you listen and watch the second trailer part of The Lost World: Jurassic Park, you will hear Hans Zimmer's score of Ron Howard's 1991 film Backdraft starting at 1:44 to 2:58

Tyler Rakstis I'm pretty sure that you shouldn't trust a Deviantart pic. It may be more of a sequel to the original than the others one, but it won't disregard the events of Lost World and JP3. Those still happened in the timeline. Also, Spielberg isn't directing Jurassic World, he's just the executive producer.
The DP on this movie was horrible, scenes came off unintentionally goofy. I hated it as a kid and enjoy it for what it is as an adult because Goldblum and Stan Winstons Team always Deliver.
I have this jurassic park trailer in my head either for 2 or 3 that i cant find and im not sure is real anymore. None of the trailers fit. Did they ever stop using some trailers or am i just crazy?
Does anyone know why the last movie spot had music from Jurassic Park 3 in it. Is this a re-edit or was the music first developed in 1997 to be reused for the jp3 hatchery scene. Maybe a glitch in the matrix
@@Jurassic1993Park Ok, so where do you find these videos to upload? Is there an original source, id like to better understand where these tv spots come from.
Usually through the Internet, but mostly on UA-cam. As for where these TV spots came from, simple. All of them sans the last one were originally posted on the Jurassic Park site during The Lost World marketing. As for the last one, someone recorded it on VHS way back in the day and digitized it later on to post online.

Not really. It's not as memorable or groundbreaking as the original. More of a cash grab sequel that wasn't really needed.
