    I didn't realize that your layout is larger than what I thought, good to know the powercab has enough power for it.Thanks for this review, I appreciate the effort.

      Neil lieN Glad the video helped.
      The first video you saw was before i built the expansion. With a layout this size it helps to have plenty of feeder wires.

      Hmm wiring, I'm not looking forwards to that, looks like tedious work...

    Very helpful. Thank you. Think I'll put it on layby for chrissy at Trainworld in Brighton. I have a HO layout on DC, been thinking about starting N scale on DCC for a while but was a bit worried that it would be too complicated for me as i'm not very 'tech savvy' either. Cheers mate, you explained it beautifully.

    300 Aus $ is quite close to the Canadian $ and therefore, I paid 280.00... So with you being in Australia - being 1/2 way around the globe and the NCE being an American made product, I'd say an extra $20.00 to ship it to you (is probably what the extra 20 dollars you were charged for!) is pretty darn good! Seems like YOU got the better deal! Great System NCE is.. Had the 10 amp Pro system a few years ago but became (sadly) outdated or obsolete because it was not updatable.

    you forgot to mention that a DPDT switch is required for this NCE Power Cab system in order to operate a separate Program track. Certain Decoders can handle the "POM" but some can't. Also, make sure you remove other locomotives from your track to save the headache of remembering what road #'s are per train.

    Nice info, like the way you explain it, just to let you know a Powercab runs $200 list - F about $150 discount in the US, so not knowing the exchange rate is it looks like you paid about the sa.e as here....thanks for sharing....Jack

    easy peasy for sure but I'm interested in turning my NCE Power Cab into a wireless.. What EXACT procedure is required for this? I'm interested in understanding how an Android/iPhone can take the place of the NCE Cab...or does it?

    Great video. Really simplified programming locos. How do you power the track? Will one pair of leads from the track provide power to the entire layout?

      Alix Janove if you have a fairly small and simple layout one pair of leads will be sufficient to power the track. However if you have a large layout like mine you will need to have what's called a 'bus line', which is basically a pair of thick wires that follow the track underneath and you have small 'feeder' wires that connect the track to the bus line.

    Hello.. I would be interested to know if it's possible to program the NCE with the Hornby auto control feature that's programed into the Sapphire decoder? there is a youtube video of this listed as, 'DCC SERIES: AUTO CONTROL HORNBY ELITE V1.4 (Part 24a)' by ay76..

    Do you leave the original transformer does it supply tack power at full. The Powercab does not supply power to the track. WHAT SIDE IS POSITIVE to connect to track hopefully not a dead short. 4 red wires and which is positive?

    Could I change the speeds of multiple locomotives at once? For instance: I have a train with 3 locos. Do I have to adjust their speeds individually?

    when you run multiple locos, how do you switch between controlling each one

    • @Gavs_rc_hobbies
      @Gavs_rc_hobbies  4 роки тому

      Ok, if you're just running 2 locomotives you can press the recall button which goes back to the previous locomotive running, however if you're running more than 2 you will need to enter the locomotive's number to select it.

    Can the nce power cab operate turnout decoders and how?

      Yes, under either the macro function or the accessory function. Depending on the brand of turn out control.
