    in all seriousness the actual new armstrong would be awesome if it was a huge stoke reusable capsule on the top
    but this is very cool how much extra performance you get

    I’m pretty sure that BO had plans for a “New Armstrong”…oh you mentioned it never mind

    TWR 1.52 is my favorite kind of TWR 😁

    i think before planning the next 10 rockets they should at least try launching their first orbital rocket

    It's an obvious idea, but honoring the originating rockets, you can go with Blue Saturn, or New Saturn.

    with what mod did you get that lounchpad from?

    • @RaizSpace
      @RaizSpace  Місяць тому +2

      I believe it was adapted from an old version of Modular Launch Pads and turned into a Kerbal Konstructs static. Don't take it too seriously - it was just a makeshift thing. You'll get better results using a more current version of Modular Launch Pads and putting it on the rocket in the VAB, probably. I did this back in the day because physics was not cooperating with me and the pad was flopping all over the place.

    Funny concept this one is, next you should swap to raptors if it wasn't done yet)

    • @RaizSpace
      @RaizSpace  Місяць тому +2

      The problem with Raptors is SpaceX doesn't have a hydrolox engine to go with them.

      @@RaizSpace sorry but I don't understand, why the need for hydrolox?

    • @bernhardschmid9222
      @bernhardschmid9222 Місяць тому +1

      @@RaizSpacewhy not go from kerolox to hydolox more gradually: RD-171s in the first, RD-704s in the second and RD-0120 in the third Stage.

    • @RaizSpace
      @RaizSpace  Місяць тому +2

      @cristianshay227 The Saturn V tank volumes in the second or third stage are meant for hydrolox - if you want less dense fuels, then it would be better to reshape the rocket in those two stages. You really don't end up with a Saturn V, nor a rocket optimized for the Saturn V's role to send payloads to the Moon. Starship is optimized to deliver propellant to low Earth orbit, because that's what it will be doing in most launches.

    • @RaizSpace
      @RaizSpace  Місяць тому +1

      @bernhardschmid9222 Methane is generally considered better than kerosene for reusability. As for your proposal - just use the Vulkan rocket - Energia in a stacked configuration. The RD-0120 as a third stage engine suboptimal compared to what I used to use with the Vesuvius stage, which was more vacuum optimized - the engine number slips my mind. The RD-704s have a particular purpose, but adding other kerosene engines as a first stage sort of robs them of it and makes them irrelevant.

    So what comes next, first stage recovery attempts?

  • @marcusrauch4223
    @marcusrauch4223 Місяць тому

    Not that I want to get a rocket named after me (who am I kidding, of course I do), but "Marcus" has lsatin roots and means "blessed by Mars" or "son of Mars".

    question how do you get the build mode without the vab in the way?. like building outside the vab.

    • @RaizSpace
      @RaizSpace  Місяць тому +1

      It's a mod called Hangar Extender. It creates a button on the toolbar that will do that and also extend the building space.

    Reusable is the most annoying buzzword in aerospace now lol

    • @RaizSpace
      @RaizSpace  Місяць тому +2

      It's been a goal of aerospace for a long time - since the development of the Space Shuttle and even before that. I'm not sure we're there yet, but since it's been a consistent theme for practically the entire history of spaceflight, I'm not sure it's a buzzword.

      @@RaizSpace I think it's a good goal, but I don't really think it's all that necessary, having nuclear engines for in space travel is more important than recovering empty tin cans
