I bought a rear switch for my insignia sportswagon from a motor factor in Manchester England for £7 50? A friend sent it to me in Spain, 10 minutes to replace the new one , the local Opel dealer wanted about 200 euros to replace, if you raise the rear door you can see the switch, a small screwdriver will release it, the £7 50 one had no connector, just 2 small wires and rubber sleeves, regards,
Hi, i have drained water, and changed filter with these two rubber gaskets. But message( water in fuel system, please contact service) apears again time to time. Do you have any advice? Thanks
The filter change is my next job, particulate filter, big problems, adding cleaner to the tank probably needs to be done long before trouble, mine was full of carbon, I eventually took the oxygen sensor out and poured 500ml of cleaner into the opening, what did I have to lose, left overnight, did that on 2 occasions, car blew out some amount of soot deposits, had the fault code deleted, car is back to normal, Opel dealer wanted 2063, 05 euros to replace, a new dpf from Opel 930 euros, so they were going to change me about 1200 euros labor, probably included new oxygen sensor, maybe, regards,
Is this the same for my Astra J sports tourer 1.7cdti 110hp 2011? people on forums say the 1.7 model does not have an electric fuell pump and there will be too much air inside the filter and the car wont start
I did it...and now i can't get my car to start. I don't know what to do...push or call mechanic to make suction to get fuel in system...how did you solve your problem?
I know this is a late answer for you but for anyone else... I have a J sports tourer 1.7cdti 110hp and didn't soak the new filter. I performed the priming as instructed. The car did start eventually after some panic and nearly giving up. Luckily I must have a good battery as I needed to crank the engine over ten times.
@@mmmmmlemons you are happy, I had zafira A y22dtr motor with PSG16 fuel pump - it could be destroyed after dry starts. But thanks for solution anyway.

A nema vode nigdje..
I've tried doing this but mine seems to drain forever. 2 litres has come out before I stopped as I was panicking that it was draining my tank. can you advise?
How to pump fuel back to system on astra j 1.7cdti? i changed the filter and now i have air from filter housing all the way to injectors...can i unscrew some plug to drain air or any other solution?
It doesn't matter how much is in the tank. The diesel is pumped from the tank to the engine by the lift pump so you only ever drain what's in the filter itself.
Hey Razor bb-8, thanks a lot for this video. I tried to do it myself, but there was a problem: it seems that the fuel runs off forever! I stopped this change operation after more than 4 liters had leaked! Have you previously unplugged any fuel line from the filter? Or do I have to disconnect the car battery so that no pump can pump the fuel? I would be very happy about a short comment :-)
ASTRA J, engine A17DTJ - the same solution. There is no need to open drain plug. You can twist direct filter casing (size 36 wrench).
really easy and clean solution compared to other cars where changin the filter is a super mess
Nice video. I wouldn't have known it was there.

Sam sam mjenjao ovaj filter i uopće nije problem

Süper . Are the new insignias the same? 2014
Is the fuel pump location same for insignia petrol as well??..
Where abouts is the fuel filter located on the Siggy?
Fuel Filter is located under dust plate. just in front of rear drivers wheel.

99% do kontakata. pogledaj na opel hr forumu. skini kontakte od senzora vode i malo očisti.

big shot had same yesterday was turning on tik it catched up and I tvisted back little bit drain cap
How much diesel fuel did you have in the tank when you changed the filter?
i would like to know this
It doesn't matter how much is in the tank. The diesel is pumped from the tank to the engine by the lift pump so you only ever drain what's in the filter itself.
Sometimes the injector's switch off for safety, leave it an hour and it will start perfectly or reset everything with code reader

Frank Saßen Do you solve it? I have the same problem. Fuel runs and runs.

Is there a bash/skid plate covering the filter?
the ecoflexes have a under plastic shield coving it-that was the hardest part of the job for me lol

Thx
I have problems removing that drain plug. It's spinning and spinning but I can't get it off. Anyone has an idea?
