Sounds a lot like Voltaire (which is a compliment to highest degree). Song by Michael Land. I take no credit for the song or image. All rights belong to Lucasarts.
You know what, though? The original version really accented the xylophone more strongly; the "playing on bones" effect was more prominent. This version loses some of that, but it gains in the other sound effects. I'm not sure which I prefer.
The original sounds fuller and has a more pleasent impact, I noticed the same thing, this one only has a promint HD violin but the rest remains in the background
This is one of the reasons I love the Special Edition the soundtrack its so good I don't even know what version of the smae music I like more, both of them sound awesome.
Hmm... when I heard Ungarische Vaterlands-Blüthen of Johann Kaspar Mertz today, I though hey, it's like the ghost ship theme. :) Check out op. 1. no. 1. :)
orginal sounded more typical bone xylophone feeling, all skelton like music this version doesnt have that feeling and instead trades it off for a diffrent more ghost feeling with sound effects
The skeleton who's head kept falling off, he never danced in the same rhythm...

Great sound, but after the beginning, the theme gets lost in too much improv.
Michael Z. Land is a man of genius! I hope he continues to compose such catchy tunes.
probably the only music I prefer in the special edition than the adlib
I love the shrieking, whining fiddle in the remaster...reminds me of early Andrew Bird...
Damn its catchy!
woah... gave me goose bumps, this new version. pretty cool, what the did with this tune. Awesome soundtrack, awesome game ^^

It kind of suits the situation on the ghost ship though because I was quite lost too.

Same here! :D It's great
Wish there was a version of this song without those stupid voices...

Check the original Monkey Island Version. It has some sort of bone xylophone instead of the voices, very nice if you ask me!
Shit, it's not the original :(
