"if necessary for years, if necessary alone" ... Geez the balls these people had. The courage of those men and women, no wonder they were named the greatest generation.
There is a David Low cartoon from the Evening Standard showing a British soldier defiantly waving his fist at incoming Luftwaffe aircraft with the caption "Very well, alone!". Always makes me tear up.

I listen to this all the time, Winston Churchill is a hero of mine. I look at him as a someone who’s iron will and unwavering courage in the face of adversity is admirable.
I agree. I lost my health aged 44, 23 years ago now. i started out with one illness and along the way have collected 4 more chronic illnesses rendering me disabled these das. I live alone. I forge on regardless every day, like millions of others with different challenges. Mine is pain and isolation but ou klnow what.. NEVER SURRENDER has always been my motto. I go to bed each night with an idea of what household tasks for phone calls or whatever I need to achieve the next day to keep hearth and home together - I do what I can - then I recoup. Its a small act of self discipline within very bad health. Keep going.. always. its all any of us can do and muster up a cheery voice and a smile when you speak to others. Then again, I had two parents from the war time generation - I was brought up with it. lol.

"British" army , its a normal error but it means alot here, scottish ,english, welsh and irish regiments are very proud of their respective histories and traditions :) and are very different all while falling under one banner of "british" .. but not all english..
As I am American, this speech brings tears of pride every time I hear it. Why? One might ask.....the answer is simple. Kindred blood, and a shared spirit. A common history, and shared forebears. Now we face the spector of fachism again.....this time its called globalism. Again we stand against it..... Again we will fight, if need be in the hills or landing grounds...and again we will never surrender.
During the historic events at Dunkirk in World War II, the courage of the soldiers shone brightly. Faced with the perilous situation of being trapped on the beaches, surrounded by enemy forces and with limited options for escape, these brave men demonstrated unwavering determination. Despite the constant bombardment and the odds stacked against them, they stood resolute, displaying incredible acts of selflessness and camaraderie. Their unwavering spirit and bravery in the face of adversity served as a testament to the indomitable human spirit and remain an inspiring example of courage for generations to come.
I have watched this many times...Hoping that you will lend your talents to more collaborations with Britain's Last Lion. More Churchill videos PLEASE... We need them now more than ever.
If only they listened to him in the mid 1930s when he would often go to dinner parties and say to the people he met 'You should be worried about your children because of this man in Germany' They laughed at him, thinking he was just a conspiracy theorist.
A master piece. My grandfather who was a Royal Engineer, was evacuated from Dunkirk. If not for his rescue, unlikely I’d be here. He went back in on D-Day. Lest we forget. 🫡🦘🇦🇺👍

The Brits- they might be arrogant, they do often play zero-sum games with their allies, but they will fight their own war to the finish. I respect that last part to no end. Especially since, at that time, their resolve was backed by an institution that was proudly recognized among the finest navies in the world.
My grandad was one of these lads at Dunkirk . He was so desperate for water he drank a bowl of rancid stinky washing up water that he found in a boat .
@@imaortigosa3281 No, he was a grandfather who died before I was born. My dad was able to pass the story down. Apparently his mum and wife did not recognise him when he got back to England.

Even back then, during epidemics people would cover their mouth and do quarantine… Do not be mistaken, history is full of pandemics and outbreaks, and so on…we just forgot how to handle them cause the last one was 100 years ago… In fact there are numbers suggesting more people died during WWI due to the Spanish Flu than the actual conflict itself… However, Canada, China, Hong Kong or Taiwan were well prepared because of their experience with SARS Cov 1
