"Port" es una simple adaptación de un juego a otra plataforma. En este caso, la version original fue la de WiiU y sencillamente agarraron todo su contenido para portearlo a la Switch, es decir! que esta ultima no se aprovecha al máximo, ya que no se trabajo específicamente en ella para sacarle todo el jugo. De allí a que no veas muchas diferencias entre ambas versiones, por no decir que casi no las hay.
The Wii u has a bit more fog and contrast, giving it a warmer feel. Where the switch version looks a lil shaded and clear (which isnt completely a good thing considering the contrast in the Wii u version helps mask the graphical flaws)
Take into consideration it was built from the ground up for the Wii u and was ported over to the switch. Wait until we get a game that is built from the ground up

I love the Wii U, I bought one two years after I got the Switch and I play it more than my Switch now. The Wii U has Tekken! Why the hell is Tekken not on the Switch? I do agree the marketing for the Wii U was bad. They didnt really show off the console, they focused too much on the gamepad leading people to believe it was a Wii addon. The name Wii U is fine though. Like NES and SNES, or PS4 and PS5.
Played through on wii u and at no point did I feel like I was playing an inferior version of the game or that I was somehow missing out by not playing on switch(plan to purchase it for that platform sometime soon). Honestly looks and plays great no matter what console you’re playing it on.
the superior version is still wiiu one emulated on a powerful pc (constant 60fps among true HD patch), just forget Switch one, the FPS on switch is as trash as the wiiu ones. My 1st playthrough was on Switch, then played again on PC, the difference is like DAY and NIGHT!

I've been playing this game on the Wii U for about 6 days now. I play the switch version at work (coworker got one.) I can say this. The game looks absolutely amazing on the Wii U. I feel totally satisfied in spending around $70 for this game as opposed to $450 for the game. Because that is why 99% of the public is doing. Buying the switch for Zelda. The biggest difference (which nobody will notice) is not the visuals. It's the sound. There are some added bird or insect noises. Things like that.

Aonouma stated they didn't want to have a major upgrade for the Switch version as that would've stalled development and said and I quote "Breath of the Wild doesn't come close to pushing the Switch to it's max." The frame drops are likely slight optimization issues from porting it to a totally different architecture.

I just decided to replay this , before TOTK. I am noticing the game is more sharp & with TV I am using it on it manages RGB & tries to get the best image. Natively it looks the same. I actually think the Wii U version looks better. This is due to yes there is more pixels on screen, but why they didn’t add more detail? By detail I mean landscapes, and textures. You can now clearly see what wasn’t upscaled for switch. Regardless it still looks great! It does look better then then the Wii U slightly but I will say “the loading times are long if you die?” I dont understand that.
honestly to me this looks like more than just a rez difference. i think wiiu may be using a different form of anti ailising or some kind of artifacting like dithering etc. cause the switch handheld is the same rez and even goes lower and doesnt look blurry.
People have to remember that BOTW was made for the Wii U not the Switch, it was just so late to it's release they offered it as a release title too. Best decision they ever made. It shows how little power the Switch actually has over the Wii U though.

Never get enough of admiring the landscapes of this game...I just stare at them for a while every time I play it...had already taken more than 30 screenshots with the joycons XD I was thinking of making a challenge among BOTW players, something like "who ends up getting the best screenshots collection of the game", and then posting the winner's collection on Miiverse or something like that XD
Yea, looking at this video has helped me make up my mind not to buy Breath of the Wild again for the switch. I purchased it on the wii-u and finished it there 2 years ago. Thought about picking it up on the switch in hopes of better graphic, but looking at this I might as well not bother and save that money for something else.
Only major difference I can see is slight draw distance, which isn't much even then... And I suppose the colours are a tad bit different. Eh, I'll make this my Wii U's last hurrah.
The graphics are exactly the same. The only thing different between the two is the resolution. On Wii U its natively 720p. Docked on the Switch is 900p, and un-docked is 720p.
The lack of anistrophic filtering (aka sudden blur at a short distance), low draw-distance, and a few hefty framerate drops in crowded areas are my only real real issues with the Wii U version. It plays very well otherwise. Personally I'll likely be getting the Switch version as well for the technical upgrade when the console actually gets more original games.
Guys , it also depends on your tv.When I looked up on yt for Mario Kart 8 on my ips-screen smartphone, the colours weren't that crisp and vibrant, but on my Amoled Samsung tv they looked stunning and very vibrant.
Whilst Breath of the Wild was great on the switch, both systems were too underpowered to appreciate the game in too many ways, and this comes down to the controls too.

Actually, Nintendo, at one time, was designed for graphics. The Nintendo 64 was named that because of its ability to run games on 64 MB cartridges. While this may not be "graphics" it was made to run more demanding games. Nintendo DID want to design for graphics. And they will need to so they don't go out of business. (no one wants a terrible looking game) Although, I do agree that story and gameplay can trump graphics. But Nintendo has never been "all about the gameplay."

The colors look better on the Switch, and I heard the frame rate on the Wii U is somewhat worse...and that's pretty much it (other than resolution, which is identical should you play the Switch version handheld)
Guys the reason that the Wii U version is both smoother and looks "better" is because in the case of this game, the Switch version is the port. Usually that doesn't happen, but with the way things happened, the Switch version of the game ended up being the port. The original is the Wii U version. This also proves that the human eye is more attracted to vibrant colors (the Wii U has more vibrant colors) than a slight upgrade in resolution.

I just picked up a switch lite and this game again after selling off my entire nintendo collection early this year. This game is certainly something special.
The wii u version is better in my opinion because it's more lightened than the switch (of course this is MY opinion no need to get pissy if you prefer switch)
I have it on wiiU and totk on switch. I can definitely confirm that the graphics are scaled down on the wiiU. It took me by surprise how downscaled it actually looks after jumping back to it.
WiiU was the original console on which BOTW was developed. There is a video where the Aounuma and Miyamato are showcasing some elements of the game on the WiiU system. When the Switch came, they improved the textures and lightning for it due to its increased hardware compared to the WiiU.

FireAntoniyo I don't own a wiiu but even I could see the difference in the two consoles, however just cause the wiiu's graphics isn't as crisp as the switches doesn't make it a terrible buy! I'd personally would suggest to those that have a wiiu to get botw for that console rather than spending a small fortune just to get the switch port. The switch is still worth buying thoughXP

The Wii U is struggling to hit 20 fps in almost every area, while the switch, in handheld, has constant 30 fps and, in docked, much higher resolution and texture quality. Maybe that's why?

I personally find the two to be NEAR identical! However I can see the differences too. Would I say the switch's is the better port? No, the wiiu's?, again no. The reason why I think this is cause either version is going to give you that fantastic zelda game play regardless if it's the wiiu or the switch your playing on!! (And no, I don't own a wiiu).
Thing is, it's really best to just try and get the switch for future games, they won't be making new games for Wii U much so it would be best to switch... to the switch!

Colors are more washed out on the Wii U version, resolution is lower, and performance is slightly worse.
6 years later, after release of Zelda TOTK I can say that you were wrong. BOTW pushed Switch to it's max.

People have to remember that BOTW was made for the Wii U not the Switch, it was just so late to it's release they offered it as a release title too. Best decision they ever made. It shows how little power the Switch actually has over the Wii U though.

I never thought the switch would look better than the Wii U. I figured that it's size was to prioritize flexibility over capability. Looks like I was wrong.
Never get enough of admiring the landscapes of this game...I just stare at them for a while every time I play it...had already taken more than 30 screenshots with the joycons XD I was thinking of making a challenge among BOTW players, something like "who ends up getting the best screenshots collection of the game", and then posting the winner's collection on Miiverse or something like that XD

Yea, looking at this video has helped me make up my mind not to buy Breath of the Wild again for the switch. I purchased it on the wii-u and finished it there 2 years ago.
Thought about picking it up on the switch in hopes of better graphic, but looking at this I might as well not bother and save that money for something else.
Only major difference I can see is slight draw distance, which isn't much even then... And I suppose the colours are a tad bit different. Eh, I'll make this my Wii U's last hurrah.
The graphics are exactly the same. The only thing different between the two is the resolution. On Wii U its natively 720p. Docked on the Switch is 900p, and un-docked is 720p.
Dont forget the frame rates Bro im playing on wii u and sometimes its just too laggy

The lack of anistrophic filtering (aka sudden blur at a short distance), low draw-distance, and a few hefty framerate drops in crowded areas are my only real real issues with the Wii U version. It plays very well otherwise.
Personally I'll likely be getting the Switch version as well for the technical upgrade when the console actually gets more original games.
And right now they haven't released any original zelda games and the switch is already at the end of its lifespan

Guys , it also depends on your tv.When I looked up on yt for Mario Kart 8 on my ips-screen smartphone, the colours weren't that crisp and vibrant, but on my Amoled Samsung tv they looked stunning and very vibrant.
Only those with the most trained of eyes can truly see the difference. Seems that you can't go wrong with either version!

Actually, Nintendo, at one time, was designed for graphics. The Nintendo 64 was named that because of its ability to run games on 64 MB cartridges. While this may not be "graphics" it was made to run more demanding games. Nintendo DID want to design for graphics. And they will need to so they don't go out of business. (no one wants a terrible looking game) Although, I do agree that story and gameplay can trump graphics. But Nintendo has never been "all about the gameplay."
strom yes but Nintendo is all about gameplay look at 3ds v wii u which has better graphics obviously wii u but it doesn't really matter because the gameplay is their but between the wii u and switch it's really no difference and if their is its extremely a very slight difference the switch reminds me of an updated ds in a way when I'm out an about I'd rather socialise with my friends live the real life or listen to music on my phone I'm very happy with my wii u and I will keep it sponge side my collection of games both virtual and I will not get a switch because it's not worth it it looks and feels flimsy and it just no difference I'd rather get a ps4 pro to be honest I'll get a new Nintendo home console in the future I hope it's not going to be another portable one

The colors look better on the Switch, and I heard the frame rate on the Wii U is somewhat worse...and that's pretty much it (other than resolution, which is identical should you play the Switch version handheld)
Guys the reason that the Wii U version is both smoother and looks "better" is because in the case of this game, the Switch version is the port. Usually that doesn't happen, but with the way things happened, the Switch version of the game ended up being the port. The original is the Wii U version. This also proves that the human eye is more attracted to vibrant colors (the Wii U has more vibrant colors) than a slight upgrade in resolution.

The wii u version is better in my opinion because it's more lightened than the switch (of course this is MY opinion no need to get pissy if you prefer switch)
I have it on wiiU and totk on switch. I can definitely confirm that the graphics are scaled down on the wiiU. It took me by surprise how downscaled it actually looks after jumping back to it.
WiiU was the original console on which BOTW was developed. There is a video where the Aounuma and Miyamato are showcasing some elements of the game on the WiiU system. When the Switch came, they improved the textures and lightning for it due to its increased hardware compared to the WiiU.
I have the Switch version digitally and I plan to get the Wii U version physically.
There are really just few differences.

no hay mucha diferencia solo en los colores y un poco en la resolución de la hierba pero tampoco nada destacable para tener un procesador gráfico de envidia
lo del procesador grafico no tiene nada que ver, esto fue hecho asi para que ninguna de las versiones tuviera una gran ventaja con la otra. Si quieres ver lo que hace el procesador de la Switch, tendras que esperar a otros titulos o en si, al verdadero Zelda Switch

I played the Wii U version originally, but I’m going to be replaying on Switch before TotK comes out. I played some on Wii U last night, and I was surprised by how much worse it looked than what I remembered, or at least on the Gamepad.

FireAntoniyo I don't own a wiiu but even I could see the difference in the two consoles, however just cause the wiiu's graphics isn't as crisp as the switches doesn't make it a terrible buy! I'd personally would suggest to those that have a wiiu to get botw for that console rather than spending a small fortune just to get the switch port.

The Wii U is struggling to hit 20 fps in almost every area, while the switch, in handheld, has constant 30 fps and, in docked, much higher resolution and texture quality. Maybe that's why?

I've never had a problem with the fps. It's completely fine to me when I played through it.
Adam Skeen the temple of time pictures show you how much better the switch version is. Link looks worse in wii u. I can just see the flickering and weird shit happening in the wii u version. Iy isn't a black ops 3 change but still noticeable.
I personally find the two to be NEAR identical! However I can see the differences too. Would I say the switch's is the better port? No, the wiiu's?, again no. The reason why I think this is cause either version is going to give you that fantastic zelda game play regardless if it's the wiiu or the switch your playing on!!
(And no, I don't own a wiiu).
Thing is, it's really best to just try and get the switch for future games, they won't be making new games for Wii U much so it would be best to switch... to the switch!
