As a Polish woman this situation really hurts me, especially when i hear or see billbords telling Jewish people to come back to Poland. My grandparents took me to Aushwitz when i was 7 years old to tell me the story of my family members that never returened, later on in life my dad took me to Majdanek to cherish the memory his family side that was lost. Even the nearest graveyard includs memorials of Jews that where from the area but they're bodies where never recovered, and mass graves of war prisoners including people from France, Belgium and Netherlands. Each time i see any act of antisemitism, or violance towords Jews it feels like my people are being hurt. I pray for safetly of all civilians, hostages, IDF and whole land of Isreal. I feel there is a need to prefice every comment I make with an "I'm not Jewish" statement to make it clear that there are plenty of people who stand with the Jewish people, Israel and all those who oppose the anti-Zionist ideology. I have serious problems with Israel but they are the same "problems" I have with my own country/government and none attempt to negate Israel's right simply to exist as a free and indepeandt state. I caught a powerful Rabbi Tovia Singer clip today. He pointed out something I hadn't noticed; that all Jewish holidays are about the experiences of an entire people; not of an individual. There is no birthday of someone holy (like Christmas, or the Buddhist celebration of the Buddha's b-day) or any celebration of private miracles. It is all stuff experienced by the entire Jewish people, (like Passover, for escaping slavery in Egypt but there is no holiday about Moses & the burning bush) which is why our texts say we can ask our parents & grandparents about the teachings of Torah . . . The tribal waters flow deep.

I feel there is a need to prefice every comment I make with an "I'm not Jewish" statement to make it clear that there are plenty of people who stand with the Jewish people, Israel and all those who oppose the anti-Zionist ideology. I have serious problems with Israel but they are the same "problems" I have with my own country/government and none attempt to negate Israel's right simply to exist as a free and indepeandt state. I caught a powerful Rabbi Tovia Singer clip today. He pointed out something I hadn't noticed; that all Jewish holidays are about the experiences of an entire people; not of an individual. There is no birthday of someone holy (like Christmas, or the Buddhist celebration of the Buddha's b-day) or any celebration of private miracles. It is all stuff experienced by the entire Jewish people, (like Passover, for escaping slavery in Egypt but there is no holiday about Moses & the burning bush) which is why our texts say we can ask our parents & grandparents about the teachings of Torah . . .

Dear Ollie, your message was incredibly moving and yes, it gave me a glimmer of hope in a world currently drowning in lies, falsehood and so much hatred and violence. I have a modicum of understanding knowing this to be the Kali Yuga and also the birthing of the Age of Aquarius and I have often thought how Christians used to have their own Shabbat on a Sunday and how that died out slowly, whereas the whole world could light a candle on Friday evenings, if only as a symbol of solidarity with what is good in the world and as a symbol of this longed-for truth.
I also have another dream for when the war in Gaza ends. I have put it twice on You Tube, but your message was so inspiring, I want to put it again. We should have a tsunami of Hindus, Jains, peaceful Muslims, Jews, Christians, Zoroastrains, atheists, agnostics, Buddhists go and live in Gaza so that the whole world helps the rebirth of Gaza. In 4 generations we could have a Pestalozzi "land" (he's another of my "heroes"). If it takes a village to raise a child, then it will take the whole world to help the Gazans. Ubuntu.
