Such a good job of capturing the gravity of a hunt you can never repeat in Wa State. 24 years old and making it look easy! Congratulations and thank you for sharing with those that choose to watch!
What a great well put together film! As a resident of SW Washington that has been putting in for 20 years and has fully accepted the fact I may never draw a goat tag it was awesome to stumble upon this and be able to live vicariously through you guys. Outstanding job and way to showcase a cool ass goat hunt with friends.
Hands down one of the best goat hunt's I've ever got to watch and how exciting to see it happen on a mountain that I hunt the basins. An have watched these boogers bounce around up there for years in the spotting scopes
@@OTCOutdoors I hunt a lot of the back side of the blowout and I've watched a many years in a row with a spotting scopes during bear and part of deer season. Been putting in for it
Congratulations, Austin. Hard work and the luck of the draw are a great combo. You displayed it well. Brayden; You put together a great film. Your great grandfather and I hunted together once or twice. He was a great influence in my family's life as was your great grandmother. Keep hunting hard and loving the wild places.
Thank you so much for this epic hunt and the beautifully crafted video of it. Youve captured something that so few evernget to experience. I hope to see this firsthand...someday!
Badass Austin! Congrats on a stellar goat! Been away from social media last couple years and I gotta say things I miss the most was seeing and following guys like you on your adventures and journeys, glad I got to see this on UA-cam, keep after it dude your a savage!
Congratulations young man. I put in for those tags for 23 years before I left Washington. I drew a moose tag back in 94. Got a moose up by Lake. Ione never did get the sheep or the goat tag. I live in Tennessee now.
Excellent film. Congratulations on the once in a lifetime hunt. You definitely earned it with the work you put into your hunt. Hopefully one day I will have the same opportunity.
Well done!! Great, great video! Im 62 with max points. Goat hunting is better suited for 24 uear old legs, but I keep applying. I've filled my sheep and moose tags here in WA. Will probably age out before drawing goat tag.
Nice goat, WA is an amazing state with a lot of game. Wish our state would do a better job of management for us. What unit or area were you in? Cascades?
WDFW holds a once in a lifetime raffle every year, where a minimal amount of tag holders are selected every year to go hunt them. There is no general season for goat.
This video is way better on mute some of the worst music to fuck up an amazing hunt. Loud disturbing music in such a serene beautiful environment. The music become the lead character in your video. Piano way too loud, have to turn volume down then you can't hear the narration. Try some audio leveling next time. Great hunt though.
Maybe spend a lot more time at the range perfecting your marksmanship. That's evidenced by the second shot mainly but the third shot was high by a few inches for the heart. Not really sure where the first shot hit but not a premium placement there either. If you were able the final shot while it was rolling down the hill trying to get up would have been good. Good job of stalking though. I just hate to see an animal suffer because of an ill placed shot. BTW I started goat hunting in the late 70's in Glacier Peak Wilderness and later in Olympic National Park to thin the numbers after the dept of fish and game relocated some.
Hey there, as you can see when it’s slowed down, the first shot was ‘premium’ placement , right behind the shoulder, couldn’t have been any better, double lung. The spotter saw the ripple and thought it hit back, so being jacked up on adrenaline, he shot another round aiming higher and forward because the spotter wrongly said he hit back. He then slowed down, and shot the 3rd shot even though the animal was seconds away from expiring from the first shot, dropping the animal, lights out, high should. There was no suffering. Also, Shooting an animal while it’s rolling would not have been a good decision like you’re suggesting, as it would be more likely to hit not where you want it either wasting meat or just unnecessary as the goat is rolling down the hill at a fast speed. I don’t think there much need to ‘perfect’ the marksmanship, when the first shot was only perfect, followed by the 3rd shot ending the life quicker. Thanks for your thoughts though!
Congrats on a great time on the mountains and an awesome billy!

Awesome video and goat but the music sucks 😂. I had to mute to continue watching.
