Yeah, I've been trying to figure out how to hold chlorine for longer in my pool.
My pool is in the direct sun, Austin, Tx. We need to have a number for Human Contamination Load (HCL), tongue in cheek, to calculate the average contamination per week. HCL will have a factor increase for kids and drunk adults.
I would say my HCL is pretty low actually. I do have a DCL, Dog Contamination Load, to consider as well. That is just about an hour of wading per week for 3 poodles.
I'm happy to see this episode appear. Before I started to do my own pool, because of your videos, I couldn't figure out how pool pros could really take care of all these sunny pools.
Lately, I've been trying to do this chlorine demand test overnight but I can't get the timing right yet. Add liquid chlorine in the evening, let it stabilize and measure it. Wake up before sunrise and measure it again. If it uses more than 1 ppm then maybe organics or non-organics are taking my chlorine.

Not a bad way to think about it. Most pools have lots of organics and oils, which is why our CV-600 and CV-700 enzymes are as popular as they are.

@@Yeah12345 no I haven’t because I didn’t know about it, my phosphates are low, and I feel like orenda seems to be against unknown additives to pool chemistry. I will check it out though
