Only thing is the population in peninsula isnt as well studied and hasn't recovered as fast/ as well as the population in borneo. Most likely Sungai Kuantan is home to younger crocs who then move on to other areas when they're larger. Take a look at the massive crocs that pop up once in awhile in Kuala Selangor. Steve was on steroids...Was he? The boat ride was insane... LOL...No monkeys , no birds.... but close encounter with a crocodile.. I think it was at least around 3 to 4 feet long....River cruise, mangrove walk, crocodile encounter, fireflies watching...Seems like it was a great call for the tour .... Kudos to you!!....Last time I remember watching fireflies was in Kuala Selangor in 2002.... seems so long time ago...as always, Stay safe , happy travels...

Wow, I also enjoyed that, especially the night tour looking for crocodile and amazing firefly experience at night and back to the off shore for barbecue,we have the German sosage,banana cake and banana as well.😋🤣
So nice for you guys to see crocs in the wild in their natural habitat than in the zoo in your countries. Natural sense surround with the crocs lurking around providing a phobic sensation.
There is also a firefly cruise in Cherating if you enjoy it. But I really want to watch your video of turtles laying eggs in Chendor if the season is still on...I am local but have never seen turtles laying eggs before!
8:14 Birdwatching requires patient and passion. You’re right, you need to spend longer time to see birds. 10:17 You can get juice if you cut Liana stem into half, and the juice taste like sugar cane (if you're in the rainforest, not sure what's the taste like from the mangrove).
@@ms.chuisin7727 Birds are active both early morning and in the late afternoon. The operator need to engage birders to do bird checklist and the regular hours of bird sightings, location & to have binoculars. It's good to have list of birds sighted and their photos for easy reference to non birders
@@JenutTN If I am not wrong, they were too late for evening bird sightings too. You get better chances of it by the morning. Maybe it's just in my place but I found that there's more birds in the morning than the evening. Yes, I live in Kuantan. There's even regular sightings of hornbills in on the big tree in front of my house.
@@ms.chuisin7727 Birds active in the morning and late afternoon for food. I haven't been to Kuantan River Cruise but it's best to do proper bird survey as the location of the tower may not be at the right place, maybe. The hornbill you always see may be the common Oriental Pied Hornbill.
@@JenutTN I am not sure what hornbills was it. Used to live nearer the forest and we can see and hear a lot of it and now that i live in the city centre I can sometimes see up to 3 hornbills at once. Not everyday. Really noisy when they're here. It depends on what species of bird you wanted to see. Different birds are active at different time. It's not that all birds are active on both morning and the evening.

When I was in University... Me and friend did a 7 days rafting . The raft totally made of bamboo... we drifted from along Sungai Pahang to Temerloh, slept on a small river island... one raft carries all the stove and gas, even boom box... hahahaha.. when you are young, you can do anything... we saw lots of crocodile... when you see that.. you feet need to be taken off from the water hahaha... wild animals and all
ahh, here crocodiles can usually be spotted sunbathing along the riverbank in the morning. usually never come close to humans though. makes me think if a rivercruise might be a viable tourist attraction for my hometown
