You nailed not only the charactization of each, but also their fighting style as Vader never does anything flashy due to his cumbersome limbs and delicate cybernetics
@General Kenobi There are some pictures of Revan using two sabers. He may have fought with only one saber most of the time but he would occasionally use two.
@General Kenobi ? It's not a cutscene vision but a vision that appear in front of you and you have to fight him to advance the story. Maybe you just forgot about it, or somehow mixed kotor and tsl together. Don't mind it, you just have to play it again.
I actually saw that line in an old comic where Vader fights Maul. So... yeah. I'm just like "That's called 'self loathing'. Just say that instead of being so melodramatic."
Absolutely nailed Revan's characterization. People forget that while Revan was able to wield some Dark Side abilities, it didn't make Sith, he remained a Jedi through and through (misguided as he could be if you take SWTOR into account). I don't like to rag on people but too many use Revan as an example of the perfect "Grey Jedi" when the whole story of the Prodigal Knight, as Revan is called, is a Sith who saw the darkness and turned his back on it after being given a second chance and made amends.
No revan was 100% a sith lmfao revan might have been well intentioned as a sith but he still was absolutely a sith even if a VERY disciplined one. He exclusively used the dark side after being brainwashed by vitiate and even once he broke free from vitiates control, he continued to destroy and slaughter anything he deemed too weak to be of value. Peole wanna act like revan was a jedi or a sith but by the end of it all he 100% was a gray jedi and is canonically one of the most wise characters in star wars in terms ofnunderstanding of the force
And the second chance? Lmfao mate revan was literally brainwashed by the most evil act the jedi could have done to him so they could weaponize his knowledge against malak, that jedi order straight up didn’t even deserve the title. Revan never had a choice and we ALL know that once he remembered everything he once against turned his back on the jedi so he could stop vitiate. The very term jedi implies you are apart of the jedi order and revan canonically left the jedi order twice so by definition he wasn’t a jedi lmao the very term gray jedi is it’s own thing with characters like the bendu in rebels PERFECTLY displaying what the gray jedi were, neither good evil light or dark but a balance in between capable of both sides of the spectrum
One of the most accurate depictions of Vaders fighting style. He would primarily stick to forms 2-3 and 5-6. Using as many force-assisted combos as possible to overpower and overwhelm his adversaries with intelligence and might over speed and agility. He would likely seek to punish agile and duel-wielding enemies most with the force.
Finally someone who understands the true Revan. He was not a "grey" Jedi nor a true Sith, as that was imposed on him, instead he is a true Jedi like Qui-Gon Jinn. A foreshadowing of what Anakin was meant to turn the Jedi Order into, if the council had not handed over their very own messiah into the hands of the Sith. (abandonment of his wife and son out of fear of their safety notwithstanding)
Why’d he abandon the Order and the Republic when they needed him the most, like Carth told us in KOTOR 2, because personally I think Qui Gonn would at least help the Jedi to recover, before Nihilus ate them all
@@cerealdig As revealed in the novel, Revan was brainwashed into being a Sith along with Malak by the frankly OP Vitiate (who Kreia was referring to at the end of KOTOR2) who was running things behind the scenes. He left his party members, wife and child behind because while he developed a resistance to the brainwashing, (hence why Darth Revan was more pragmatic then most Sith) he feared his friends and family would succumb. The good news is he was right, Revan successfully fought off the brainwashing attempts (at the time) and Revan was able to keep the true Sith invasion from happening for almost 300 years. The bad news is he and Meetra (who was sent to help him in the end of KOTOR2) was betrayed by Scourge, (another Sith who wanted to usurp his master and believes fully in Force Visions, he saw another Jedi beat Vitiate and so thought they were going to lose) which caused Revan to be captured, kept alive and tortured until the SWTOR era and for Meetra to die.
the Revan you are referring to is a screwup by a dumb ass frat boy who turned Revan from one of the most interesting characters in the whole universe into a doormat and a joke. true Revan was a grey force user, someone who understood the full truth about the force- that there should be a balance, and both light and dark side should and can be used if need be.
@@TheSwordsman100 That was sortve retconned though. The explanation offered by gnost dural is that they still willingly had to go to the dark side. And once they were out of vitiates reach they became their own men and still followed the dark path
I think Revan's original armour was better. This SWTOR version is pure Sith, while the original armour was half and half - Jedi armour, black Sith hooded cloak. Half and half suits Revan's story better. Like Count Dooku - black Sith tunic and trousers, brown Jedi cloak.
I love how strong the lore is with both characters. And the combat seemed fitting. Revan is everywhere, while Vader’s moves seem limited because of the suit, but he makes up for it with the Force.
@@A-RedHerring That’s what I’m saying, it’s because he’s strong with the Force, and uses it beyond anyone’s imagining. There are other sources that tell us about how mobile he is compared to Anakin: compared to him, almost not at all.
It was amazing to see how Revan and Darth Vader interacted with one another, and how Revan in a way, saw the future of what could happen if he doesn’t stop his enemies quick but carefully. And that final line when he say’s “I don’t know if I can change the future, but with these hands, I will fight for the here and now”. You could feel the concern yet motivation that Revan had to try and change the future. And for Darth Vader, i was both shocked and saddened when he said that his hatred for himself is what keeps him going.
Considering everything that had happened to him throughout his life, it’s no wonder he became a slave to his anger, and Hating himself more then anything for all he had sacrificed for nothing.
As much as I appreciate that (and words cannot describe the amount), I don't think I have the clout to pitch to the great Filoni and Favreau... Later on perhaps, who knows?
So a friend of mine sent me a link to this and holy smokes, I was on the edge of my seat! The voice acting was well acted and the script had me in shock with how Vader spoke of his time before becoming who he was now. Then that line of “Myself.” When he was asked what he hated so much just floored me, and the delivery was on point that I felt my jaw hit the floor from the shock. The animation was fluid and the body language seemed natural, even with Darth Vader’s flare for the dramatic it only made sense considering his actions in the movies and such. All around well done and thank you to my friend, Moko, for sending me a link to this! I’m more than happy to subscribe to the dark side of the Force.
This was surprisingly good, I often dream of a clash between these two characters since they share similar traits with each other, such as their romantic connections that went against the Jedi code, the tragedies they both experienced, and the peace they made with themselves after they passed on. I imagine with Cinematic captures or loacherfilms quality animation it would be even Better.
There is nothing similar between them. Revan did never walk against the Jedi Code. Revan did what was right. Using and commanding the dark side, yet he never fell. However, since that idiot Drew Karpyshyn released his book we've lost Revan as a dramatical character. Indeed, kids wanted a new Vader and they've got what they deserved. Revan of original games is not the Revan of Drew Karpyshyn's book. Revan never believed in Sith Empires and its Emperors for there was none.
@@highbird4986 a matter of opinion truthfully. You see no comparison, that’s your perspective you are free to have. It is just my opinion that Vader and Revan share similar qualities.
@@Fi_Sci_ But why do you need their similarities? Why to respect Anakin this much? One weak person strong in The Force, what did he do? Rythorical. No intend to debate.

"Your efforts are in vain Revan... Even you that's supremely gifted in the force can't even stop my reign from happening in the future." -Paraphrased dialogue
This is amazing. the dialogue feels natural for their character, getting into their knowledge and feel of the dark side while also even getting into the core of their character with why they did what they did and such. Vader and Padme with Revan and his family. it hit them both and they both know it. now the fight itself was amazing and again fits their style. Revan in a natural body has the speed and grace expected from a Jedi/sith of his time. Vader however was power, using the force to control and dominate the fight to his speed. Revan had power but his was more precision and control. honestly I think you did the two characters justice and is a wonderful video.
I love the way they have Vader swinging his saber so cool & casually, almost nonchalantly, while Revan is this way & that way with his form. This was dope.
Interesting, Vader might be one of the greatest challenges Revan would ever face, he’s both a tank, and a scalpel. He won’t charge in like Savage Oppress, he’ll draw you out, then cut you down in a moments notice. He won’t use the Force in a blind manner, he’ll attack when the time is right, something as simple as a Force Choke could end the battle in a heartbeat, or a well placed Force Push will send you flying and break your bones, or even use Dunmash to make you feel vulnerable and sense your breaking point, like a less effective version of Shatterpoint. If Revan met Vader, I honestly couldn’t say who’d win, but Lord Vader would give Revan one hell of a fight, that’s for sure.
How wonderful! Revan was not supposed to survive Darth Traya from the beginning. Then those kids on the forums showed up and Drew Karpyshyn decided to make some money on them. So he ruined all the Kotor story and made Revan the one who he was not meant to be. There was no Sith Empire. "Sith is a belief". Kreia would never tell you where Revan wanders now for he is a symbol of redemption and hope and must exist in minds of living people. If anyone of adult would ever care of Star Wars, such guys like Karpyshyn and Disney won't ever be alllowed to write and make movies on the subject. I am sorry that so many people just didn't get Kotor story. It happened to be too complicated for a mind of a child.
I'm guessing you used the "myself" line from a Vader comic when he goes and fights Darth Maul? If not, that is some good writing. This is a fantastic video!
@@blackpanther1013 wdym lukes green lightsaber? There were other jedi that had green sabers, and in the revan novel he does wield green and purple sabers. Dork.
Honestly people have tried to capture the "James Earl jones magic" of Darth Vader, and it hardly ever sounds like JEJ (ex; battlefront Vader) but even though the voice isn't deep enough, you do truly encompass the James Earl jones Vader.
Aside from Revan’s defense of the Jedi, this was good… really good. Pretty much exactly how I’d want a fight between them to play out. There are no winners or losers, just a clash of ideologies. You’re impressive.
I haven't played KOTOR yet so this is the first time I've seen him in action, and I just love Revan's characterization in your video. This is not a clash between lightsabers, it's between ideologies. Ideologies of two clearly very similar characters. The pain both have clearly been through, and the fact that Vader is willing to let Anakin out to Revan, showing strong vulnerability before he strikes fiercely. And the punch to Revan with the words "maybe you are a jedi after all." Obi-Wan has taught him well indeed. Beautiful video. Subscribed.
Just finding this and I found it to be Quite accurate in most things. Vaders self loathing. Perfect. Revans change and convictions. Perfect. Vaders towering fighting style and battle field control perfect. But I feel like Revans force abilities were a bit under powered. The dialog was incredibly done. Bravo
Honestly, the dialogue here is great. It feels natural for both characters and flows really well. Both seem to have an equal ground of respect for one another to stand on. The fight is nothing to scoff at either. Its really well animated. Naturally vader would have the upper hand, he is vader after all, but its good to see that revan keeps to his status as a legend and holds his own really well against the beast of a duelist that is vader.
Vader's biggest advantages are fear and overconfidence. Most Jedi are either so terrified of him that they can't focus while those who grip tightly on their courage feel far to embolden to blindly charge a foe that is several times stronger and far more skilled than they are. This is why very few Jedi survived an encounter with Vader those who did, did so by the skin of their teeth or were able to push Vader back due to their mental fortitude. Revan would naturally negate those advantages as he's overcome his fears and his ego from the second chance he got and the redemption he earned.

I'm wondering how it's not gaining a lot more views

The dialogue and perspective of the characters is perfect and valid; and I can feel the love the creators have for star wars and its lore. This will be content i always go back to when im in the mindset for star wars and it's mythology.
This was awesome! The dialogue is truly believable. They talk about their deepest beliefs and they’re both still in a phase before they found true balance. Probably the two most interesting characters in Star Wars and certainly the most important ones, concerning their struggle defines what Star Wars is really about
I don't know if this has been said before but... I'm sorry to say that this storyline would make a more better sequel then the actual Disney sequel. That is how epic your storyline is.
The fight is cool, but the thing that stood out is the dialogue. The back and forth that they had was on point. It felt like an actual conversation where Vader was opening up about his past a little.
This was so good. I feel that you captured both of their personalities with great accuracy. Also, you addressed the deep philosophical issues of Star Wars within a matter of 5 minutes! You got yourself a subscriber.

I can fit this in my mind as a vision to Revan as he leaves his family to begin his hunt for Vitiate. A final temptation from the dark side to give up his quest as, even if he succeeds Vader is proof that his quest will not stop the Sith from getting Revenge and once again reclaiming the galaxy. A temptation to turn around and live his life with the Woman and family he loves. Had he not continued his quest, Vitiate may have attacked sooner, before the Jedi had time to rebuild as they did. Without Revan to keep Vitiate convinced that more time and preparation were needed, the Sith Emperor would have crushed the weak order and rebuilding republic. Revan rebuffs the Vision of Vader and presses on, knowing that he cannot leave destiny to chance, and that any possibility of even slowing the Sith Empire down is worth any sacrifice.

Wasn't he going to genocide a species when he was killed?
I know I'm two years late but everything about this animation is stunning, from the dialogue to the fight choreography, absolutely amazing

It contrasts perfectly with Revan’s more acrobatic and flexible fighting style too, which just makes it better
This six and a half minute fan animation is better written, acted and more interesting than all three of the sequel movies combined.

Why’d he abandon the Order and the Republic when they needed him the most, like Carth told us in KOTOR 2, because personally I think Qui Gonn would at least help the Jedi to recover, before Nihilus ate them all
@@cerealdig
As revealed in the novel, Revan was brainwashed into being a Sith along with Malak by the frankly OP Vitiate (who Kreia was referring to at the end of KOTOR2) who was running things behind the scenes.

Bro I’m going to need more starwars animations like this.
I like how Revan has his Revan Reborn armor from SWTOR
Edit: and Revan’s theme at the end is just awesome
On both accounts, too good not to use.
I think Revan's original armour was better. This SWTOR version is pure Sith, while the original armour was half and half - Jedi armour, black Sith hooded cloak.
Half and half suits Revan's story better. Like Count Dooku - black Sith tunic and trousers, brown Jedi cloak.
That was pretty good. I'm subscribing.
Oh Fancy meeting you here.
I only just found this now, many thanks!
@@Imagivotion you’re welcome
I love how strong the lore is with both characters. And the combat seemed fitting. Revan is everywhere, while Vader’s moves seem limited because of the suit, but he makes up for it with the Force.
The reality is that Vader was hardly limited by the suit. In the "Lords of the Sith" canon novel he is quite literally a monster.
@@A-RedHerring That’s what I’m saying, it’s because he’s strong with the Force, and uses it beyond anyone’s imagining. There are other sources that tell us about how mobile he is compared to Anakin: compared to him, almost not at all.
The only thing this needs is a live action version with Keanu Reeves as Revan and the voice of James Earl Jones for Vader. Honestly well done.
Keanu's build yes, but Revan should wear a mask. Two faceless opponents dueling until one either dies or is defeated in some manner.
Tf? Fuck no keanu reeves has zero business playing revan. Revan is in his late 20’s and keanu is nearing 60. What kind of dumbass idea is this
It's been confirmed the Keanu Is going to play vitiate
"they even deny love" the way he said it was on Point, you can feel the personal undertone in that line.

The "hatred of myself" line is very in line with Vader's character. And that fight choreography was really good. Very impressed.
"Then perhaps you are a Jedi afterall"... OH WHAT A SICK BURN😎
That was SO sick. It looks like a fight from RWBY. The dialogue was perfect, everything was perfect.
Congratulations, you made a masterpiece.
Revan's voice was magic.

Revan: You fight with conviction, Vader. Tell me, what is it that keeps you going?
Vader: Hatred.
Revan: Hatred of what?
Vader: Myself.
*FUCK ME UP*
This is the best duel that i’ve ever seen.
The only thing missing would be for Vader to say "Search your feelings. You know it to be true."
I never realized how much Revan and Vader have in common before this
I love the way they have Vader swinging his saber so cool & casually, almost nonchalantly, while Revan is this way & that way with his form.
This was dope.
Man, that's amazing! The story, the dialogues, the fight, THE VOICEOVER!
My deepest. DEEPEST respect.
This video deserves a lot more views and likes.

Perfect.

This writing is as high quality as any of the recent Star Wars projects. Very well done!
Well, it’s like Vader said himself, “With the full power of the Dark Side, one lightsaber is all you need.”
Now that was a such a masterpiece, love the dialogue of both characters
