Love your videos! This one made me laugh as I have a couple 750 tear downs under my belt and we ran into all the same problems. Thanks for posting these, they are so helpful.
I just bought a 03 waverunner xlt with a brand new engine. I took it for a test run and it wouldn't go over 10 mph and the engine sounded bad. I turned right around and put it on the trailer. It also looked like it was almost going to sink with 2 people on it. If you know why it would do this it would be a great help. Thanks
I have a 94 slt750 with the 1st piston burned out like you mentioned. Top is off the cylinder, but can't get the jug loose. Any suggestions? I have removed the 4 bottom nuts and the two side bolts.
Once everything is off the engine and the 4 mounting nuts off the mounts how do you disconnect the drive shaft from the engine? do you have to remove jet unit ?
@servicesafloatnz Yes you have to remove the jet unit first. Check out the video just before this one, and you will see how that is done. It is actually pretty easy.
Nate 8888 I have a 99 slh 700 we completely rebuilt carbs with new carb kit also has new electronic box however starts perfect idles fine but as soon as you hit the throttle it bogs down and dies. Any thoughts would be helpful running out of ideas here.
You seem like quite the expert on these ski's. Maybe you can help me with this one I just picked up earlier today. Here's the situation, the PO tried to jump start it, I know huh? He said he knew there was a problen when he started seeing smoke, really? I see one wire so far that was completely fried. It starts under the cover with all those wires, and goes up to the starter I believe? I guess I will be hossing the motor out. How far do you think it might go as far as damage?
My girlfriends SLT 780 ,1997 engine hull got flooded just like that and there was no seal on CDI,electrical box flooded,I purchased a new circuit board and took pictures so I would know where wires went, anyway ...transferred the wires to the new board,Question: IS All CIRCUIT BOARD VERSIONS INTERCHANGEABLE??? The 1 AND 2 Version, the board numbers are Correct? Thanks
i know it has been a couple years but do have any parts left for this ski? I need a good piston and cylinder and a MFD. i live in the dallas area and can pick up
Thanks for the great videos. QUESTION: I am looking to get a couple "old school" PWC. Something that is cheap to buy, easy to work on, parts are abundant, the motors are simple, and online help is available. I was looking at early 90s waverunners because they are cheap and seem simple enough. I'm not a gear head but I have some decent experience rebuilding a Jeep so how hard can a PWC be? Can you recommend a PWC that you think is cheap and easy to maintain that I should consider looking at? Thanks much!
funny these were sold as working jet skis as the first video states, what a joke, friend of mine wants to buy one but dam not sure I'd buy used, people just don't take care of there stuff. I'm curious of what you paid for the two and the trailer? One thing is for sure i believe you do bad on someone it will come back to you even if it takes 20 years
Y’all know that the exhaust is supposed to be full of water, hence the name “waterbox.” The engine is water cooled and the water comes out of the exhaust manifold into the exhaust stream.
also I noticed you have TX water registration on y'alls SLY and your Boat trailer plate, I am in San Antonio, what region of Texas are you in, if you don't mind me asking, I'm on FB as Dan James send me a friend request and we can talk tech on messenger, up to you I Know you have a Million Projects like me, Thanks
I have removed my motor from in the hull and is sitting on top of where the seat would be because I cannot figure out how to remove the stator wires. any suggestions?
Ashley Hillier did you figure it out? I have the same issue, the wires from the box to the stator are burned. I am guessing I have to take the engine out to get to the stator?
I just want to thank you ! Recently bought a 750 slt with only 30 hours, sat since 2004 and your videos have helped me out so much !
@welderman27 a ski i bought was sold as good compression, cranks but weak spark. it turned out to be seize filled withsand i also only paid 150 for it

That is cool you are working on them with your Dad. I am glad you like the videos.
I also looked at all of the videos for where you disconnected the shaft from the prop and couldn't find it. Thanks for your help!
Im also wondering about driveshaft

Is the hole on the rear of the water craft ment to let in water ..or is there a plug that goes in it ..hole right of the propeller ?

I don't have one. It pulls out with dome force, and there is a little runner o ring that holds it in.
I have water in the first and third jugs. Do you think it's the jug head gaskets?
And why would two go out the of three at same time?

The "muffler" is a waterbox it is meant to have water in it
Exactly! The water in the muffler/waterbox is what provides the silencing.
Ya whatta dumbfuck
Port side lower area. You need to take out the engine to get to it.
How do you disconnect the engine from the actual jet? Also, is taking out the whole engine the only way to get to the carburetor?
You have to remove the impeller and the drive shaft first. You can get the carb off, its just a pain.
FriscoJarretts To get the impeller off, do you just remove the eight bolts on the rear end of the ski? how do you remove the drive shaft?
where or how did you get rid of the shell? where I am I cant seem to find a place to dump these shells that I have.
I really do not remember
how much do you make off a jetski?

do you have any parts for a 99 slth 700?
.my starter is froze up...any vids on just doing that?
Waylin Van Halen did you get the stator out? Do you have to take the engine out to to get to it?
Wait a minute. In the movie "Water World" there were 3 jet skis driven by dennis hoppers bad guys, they were underwater and ran ok!
lol

LMFAO!!! Great comment.... great comment!
Its a shame about the water in the engine. Really gets to me when people dont take care of their belongings.
