so as I am watching you sew I noticed the stickers on your machine and then realized in your video info, you are so close to me :) Love finding locals that are as talented as you!
This bag is perfect for taking on a long walk or short trip! I’m so glad you did the tutorial because I couldn’t find the directions in the pattern for making the strap like you showed us.
Thank you for doing this video! I will definitely sew the decovil light down on the bases on my next bag. When I was sewing mine to the sides, it was releasing from the fabric and I had to try and iron it back down. You are also right about wovenfuse vs. wovenfuse 2. Wovenfuse doesn't seem to offer enough structure on quilting cotton against the waterproof canvas. Lastly, I am going to use staples on the bases inside the seam allowance to stop the fabric from shifting. I used pins but I still struggled with it since it is so small. GREAT TUTORIAL as always!!!!!
I like your tutorial with your instructions are very easy think I will make this for my 66th birthday which would be on the 6th of November my gift to me you did an awesome job
Now this changes everything!! I had plans for several OTHER bags. They are going on the back burner.. Haha! Now I need to do this one as soon as I’m done with my stubby Bellezza bag! :) Since I always carry a water bottle I’m excited to start. Thrilled your doing the video!
This is the third tutorial I’m watching for this bag lol. I’m taking a break so I don’t throw in the towel trying to sew the bottom part. I measured everything as stated, marked the seams to sew but the bottom part is causing a headache for me. Half of the decovil literally came off bc I kept shifting it. So after I watch this, I will go make a fresh larger bottom exterior and leave out the decovil for now then fuse it after if all goes well. Not that I’ll be making a larger bottom, but at least it should look much better than what I’ve done…at least that’s my theory 😂
I think the Zipper Tab pattern piece should say to cut 4 exterior fabric because your not seeing the lining side of it...It's just more work trying to cut two exterior fabrics and two lining fabrics... I'm also going to try the wovenfuse 2 next time to see if it is sturdier like you suggest. And Lindsay has a hack for the Credit Card Pocket, and the Pocket to be sewn higher so it stays out of the seam allowance when sewing the base on... Your bag came out beautiful by the way! Really nice job!
Thank you for this tutorial, I am going to buy this pattern! Oopsie - bought this pattern and a wallet pattern from LindsHandmade...so many "to do" projects! LOL
So bizarre, I just said to a friend last week on a hike, I should try to design a body strap carrier for water bottles, guess I just need to buy this pattern 😁
Ok so I bought this pattern and made 2 over the weekend. One for me and one for my daughter. This pattern so so cute, I’m obsessed! The only problem I’m having is the exterior bottom. I’ve even did the 5/8 trick that she just released over the weekend with the pockets and still I’m having problems with the bottom 🤦🏽♀️
Oh my god ive made 3 and still having huge problem with the bottom ..ive trued different things too just makes a real big mess ...ive tirn out every one of the bottoms ..
Thank you for this step by step video. I am a beginner and want to try making this bag. I'm hoping I can make one without to much trouble. When you were topstitching aound the pocket part, I noticed there is really no guide line. How do you make sure to get your line straight? Also, do you know where I can find the fabrics for this bag or does someone sale the pieces already fused together or a kit for making the sling? That way I don't have to try and figure out what to use and how much. Thanks!
Hello, thanks so much for all your help from your tutorials. I have a question about the H2O 2go bag. Do you think fleece interfacing would be too thick of an interfacing for this project. Thank you in advance 😊
Kasiah please help have made 3 of these bags ripped out everybottom a number of time tried going slow and pinning it so it doesnt shift but what a mess ...getting really disgusted with this pattern ....and ive been sewing for forty years cant master this bottom very difficult...
Yes keep it around the 1/8 seam allowance and make sure you take them out after. I show how to do this in the live sew of the H2O 2GO video go check it out 😀
Eeeek. I love the Schitts creek fabric!

Thanks for the tutorial. It was not as hard as I thought.

Awesome tutorial! What measurement did you use for your fabric straps?
So bizarre, I just said to a friend last week on a hike, I should try to design a body strap carrier for water bottles, guess I just need to buy this pattern 😁
I tried staples for the first time sewing the Swoon Brooklyn bag and I will not go back to clips when sewing the bottom in.
What? Staples??

Omgosh love it.

I wish the pattern pieces were lettered or # so you know at a glass what goes with what
That one is high on my to do list
I have seen sewers using a stapler on the bottom of bags inside the seam allowance and then cutting the seam allowance down or just removing them.
Yes I have done that many times
Thank you for the video! What kind of thread are you using that you were burning the ends of it when you stitched up the opening at the end? Thx!
I use a bonded Poly thread, it’s a heavier weight, Tex 70 that I sell on my website. You have to have a more heavy duty machine to use it though...
Love your tutorials !!
What size needle are you using ?
Size 18
I love your tutorials! What’s the name of the fabric? I went to their site and can’t find the pre-order.
I went to website also and cant find:(
Thank you so much for your videos 😍
You are so welcome!
Great video, bought the pattern. Wondering where you got the tread holder for your large spools in the background? Thsnks
I think I got that one from gold star
Would staples have worked for the bottom?
Yes I think so, just be careful sewing with them and make sure to remove all of them before finishing the bag! 😀
Hello, thanks so much for all your help from your tutorials. I have a question about the H2O 2go bag. Do you think fleece interfacing would be too thick of an interfacing for this project. Thank you in advance 😊
Hello! Yes I think that would maybe be too much, but if you really want to try, I would suggest keeping it out of your seam allowances
Noticed a couple of things-another wonderful informative video, and it seems like a lot of thread wasted😀
Hi siah, can I use marine vinyl for the outer fabric?
Yes just might be a little trickier to do the base and topstitch
What would be the best next fabric to use for the lining if you don't have the water proof canvas
I would say just something sturdy, if cotton just interface well
I've always used insulated curtaining to keep drinks cool and a stiff interfacing and sometimes a layer of flannel
Kasiah please help have made 3 of these bags ripped out everybottom a number of time tried going slow and pinning it so it doesnt shift but what a mess ...getting really disgusted with this pattern ....and ive been sewing for forty years cant master this bottom very difficult...
That’s where the stapling comes into play. I would really suggest stapling the bottom first. It helps
So much!!!
@@SiahSwag ok ill try the stapiling would you staple at 1/8 and would you use pins not clips? Thank you so much
Yes keep it around the 1/8 seam allowance and make sure you take them out after. I show how to do this in the live sew of the H2O 2GO video go check it out 😀
Can’t find that fabric. Can you provide a link?
Does anyone have a football boot bag pattern.
I would have thought they’d be made with Insul-Bright.
What are your measurements for the straps.
I usually do them around 50-54 for crossbody straps.
Hi I would like to know the measurements on each piece please. I don't have a computer or printer so can get the pattern
I’m so sorry, you have to purchase the pattern for that information. The designers work very hard on these patterns and I enjoy supporting them.
Can you explain the strap again? Did you cut the width 1.5" to start or was that the width when you folded in?
I cut it 3in to start and fold raw edges in to make each side 1.5 when done.
How long for each piece?
Can I use cotton duck fabric
Sure!
How long and wide is your strap?
Total width is 6 for a 1.5 inch strap and length is around 54-60
Did you interface your strap?
Yes I just put a woven on the cotton canvas side
The Facebook link appears to be broken 😢
Let me fix that. Here you go facebook.com/groups/2648183788617172/?ref=share
I want measures please and pattrons
The link to buy the pattern is in the description under the video 😀
@@SiahSwag ok thank you i love your jop
@@SiahSwag pattern for bag
Hello, could you put the pattern? Kisses
The link is in the description of the video 😀
I am going to make one but my bottle will be wine!!!!

It's a nice looking bag, but the pattern costs the same as a ready-made bag, and besides, it's not even insulated!
