  • Route to contemplate the High Mountain Pyrenees in its pure state. A pleasant walk of about 2 hours with little elevation gain, the whole way is between an elevation of 2,150 meters and 1,950. This day we were able to observe a chamois, a fox, eagles and herds of cows.
To access the Fontalba car park you have to go through a dirt track of about 8 km, it does not require a 4x4 but it does require dexterity. This track in the summer months, especially on weekends, has limited access and requires prior reservation via the web.
The panoramic views are impressive and as we approach the Vall de Núria we can see the sanctuary, the hostel and the artificial lake.
This route must be done round trip as the rack train that stops in Queralbs is very far from this car park. It is ideal to start between 10 and 11 in the morning, arrive at the Sanctuary of Núria between one and two, have lunch and return to the car park around 3, 4 in the afternoon. Remember that it is a high mountain and that it is very easy for storms to occur from 4 o'clock, so it is advisable to be in the car before 4 o'clock.
It is the easiest and most economical route to go to the Núria valley given that with the cogwheel train the minimum just going up from Queralbs has a price higher than 20 euros per person and the route on foot from the town of Queralbs (the last town accessible by car before reaching Núria) has a much greater difference in level and therefore going back and forth is much harder.
