Hey Travis. Thanks for being so honest in your opinions on what has worked well and what hasn't with your boat. Others guys would have been too concerned about upsetting a potential future sponsor. Good luck selling the boat (wish it was in my price range!) and remember...wear that life jacket on the St. Lawrence...it was snowing up here today!
Not going to lie the flashback to the legend breaking down is my all time favorite video of yours. The catches, the boat issues, Will locking his keys in his truck, is all highly entertaining
Good that Garmin customer service was good for you. They were having problems just getting my order sent two years ago. Eventually they got it figured out after I called a few times and offered a discount on the order for the trouble. It all came out good but took weeks longer than needed for them to complete the order and ship.
Very informative as always with your equipment. I know you have been busy but I hope to see more live shows with guests and tournament footage. I know this year has been chaotic and stupid but we will rebound brutha.
We have the Garmin trolling motor too and have had the same issues. We eventually got all of the new updates they put out and haven't had an issue since. It's rolling fine and spot lock is working great! It's a beast. We like it so much that we ordered in with our new Phoenix PHX21 that will be ready next month. 😀 Hope u get it worked out. Shouldn't be that much of a pain but it's working so good right now we can't imagine having anything else. We fish St. Clair, Lake Huron and Lake Erie a lot too. 😀
Wiedas marine posted a video yesterday. Detailing a guys new boat running a HB 360, Lowrance and panoptic all on the front deck. They could definitely be some help on the brackets they used and managing all of those wires.
Nice info. Thanks for the tips and reviews. Color choice battleship grey( no sparkle, w/ Blue, Black and silver accents. Goes with the modern monotone “blackout” trend.
Nice looking rig! What happened to the boat review? Couple minutes on the motor and a few more on the touch controls. How about a little info on ride, handling top speed, fuel consumption, ETC?
I never thought i would be 1 step ahead of SMC ... 360 on the ultrex mount ... livescope on my homemade PVC mount on the port side of bow ....i sit in the seat and run towards structure using 360 and manually scan left and right on livescope to right on top of erie smallies and farm animals - LOL. My 2019 z21 is patterned off your 2019 even got same color. Thx for tip on chargers - also have 2 batteries for crank / graphs been losing them. Thankful for the combine battery switch. What is the logo on you hat?
I’m thinking if PP doesn’t have your trolling motor, I’d go back to Ultrex! Why not have it integrated into your bird units? I run shallow water Susquehanna with an Ultrex. Had it on two boats now, no issues!
Ya, unless your sponsored , I don't see how it's better financially to switch each year. Putting an additional 150 miles on an used boat is probably better than doing it to another new boat.
Couple questions, how do you fish everyday for five months or so and only have 160hrs on the boat? And why not run ultrex now the humminbird has its own version of live scope?
This boat was late getting here in spring. Had it June. I’m not sure how well the Humminbird version of the live scope is yet I would need a good year to see how that plays out
Loved the nitro Video. You fish Lake Ontario a lot, Have you had a chance to fish Stoney Island, particularly Stoney Island Pond? I first fished it in 1957 with a 19' Lyman. Hank Parker has a video that I think you might find interesting.
No Input as far as Nitro, but as far as colors, do yourself a favor ... go with something light. My DVX 22 Ranger was silver and white, and my buddy had a TR22 that was mostly black with red accent stripes .... what a pain to keep clean! ... my Ranger looked good even when it was dirty. I fished Erie/Detroit all the time, and that last thing I wanted to do after getting beat all day, was to clean a boat!
Travis buy a ranger and you’ll have a boat that will last many years .. I have a 2004 ranger 521vx and there is no boat made in this current day that can run the big water like it ..I was at the Bfl two day last year with those 8 footers didn’t damage a thing ,I had so little water in the boat I thought my bilges were broke .. 8 footers 15 miles about a gallon of water in the boat .. my boat is completely foam filled and unsinkable which gives you piece of mind when fishing the Great Lakes ..
Like the review. Always great to hear what is like to own something and the good and bad after some real life use. One question, if you're fishing every day and doing charters, how did you only put on 150-160 hours?
I didn’t get this boat on the water until early June so fortunately this year I didn’t put as many hours plus on Lake Ontario Canada was closed so I stayed closer to shore. Normally I’ll have about 250 hours on it
Hey, great video. I've always had Stratos or Triton but am considering a 2021 Z20 this year. My concern is all the talk about how Nitros are "throw away boats". I hear about carpet and seats that tear up, about trailer problems and cracked hulls? Are these just Nitro haters, if so - why? Or should I be concerned and look elsewhere?
I love my Nitro! This is my second one and will be getting a third! No issues. Keep in mind every boat can have issues regardless of brand. I have seen friends with Rangers, Phoenix, you name it that have had issues so it can happen.
Matt, I have had my current Nitro (2005 Nitro 911 CDC with a 225 Mercury Verado) since 2008. I live in Florida and my boat has spent most of the time outside with only a Westland cover over it. In the last six months I replaced the P/S wiring harness, recovered the seats, replaced all of the pumps(not because they didn't work, but because they were 15 years old), and replaced the deck carpet. That's it in 13 years at a cost of about $3100. Yesterday I took my first ride in a 2021 Z21 and although I'm still happy with my CDC I have already started plans to purchase one of these awesome boats.
I mean it sucks that it happened but there isn't an outboard out there where lower unit failure does not happen from time to time. I may go 3-4 years without and issue and than it just happens.
Your live shows were really niche and break away from other youtube fishing channels.... looking forward to the next one and seeing Jimmy BigTime again
Man I'd leave the tape around the inside of each hatch. I personally would be happier buying a boat that someone clearly cared about. But thats just me I guess. I go crazy if things are not perfect on my boat
Buy a ballistic 223 Travis .. you only live once .. I could also see you in a vexus since it’s made by the best guys ranger ever employed for real ...nitro is a throw away boat period..
For the love of God, stop walking around in circles. I needed medication for motion sickness! Other than feeling like we were on a damned merry-go-round, the info was great. Thanks for the review, but please get a tripod or something! And stop pacing!

Thats funny, I sometimes forget just how much shit I have been through trying to catch fish lol
I've got an 52" ultrex with HB 360 and LiveScope mount on the shaft and both seem to work fine. The 6 cables can be tough to route and manage.
Great Video Travis, Brutal honesty is necessary to separate your content from everyone else’s. Keep up the good work!

Customer Service is great! Just shouldn't have to use customer service that many times in a few short months!
You should try that see clear wiring harness for the graphs in 2021. That’s supposed to help prevent graph issues.

This is a great video! You make some SOLID points and also awesome review from experiences!
Use the 3M adhesive remover next time you do the decals. It makes removal very quick and easy.
It would be great to have a video for what Livescope settings you like to run with and how to best get rid of that 'tree'
I have a detailed question: what action, size, and power of rod do you use for a spinning rod throwing the mini blitz? As well, what size of line?
I never thought i would be 1 step ahead of SMC ... 360 on the ultrex mount ... livescope on my homemade PVC mount on the port side of bow ....i sit in the seat and run towards structure using 360 and manually scan left and right on livescope to right on top of erie smallies and farm animals - LOL. Look at Cornfield Crappie, they make a pole for Live Scope. It operates with a remote or wireless foot pedal.
Thanks will do

Not really glad to know your season is over(that's always depressing )but would like to see more live streams with Eric. 👍
I did my mercury decals blue, also. I had no idea how long it was going to take me 😅
Wheeler has a video where he did a walk through with his boat and he had a hummingbird garman and a lowrance on the front of his boat.
I dont know how you guys do it.....new fully equipped boat every year....
Ya, unless your sponsored , I don't see how it's better financially to switch each year. Putting an additional 150 miles on an used boat is probably better than doing it to another new boat.
So I do have a small deal with Nitro which basically means I can get what I paid for it one year later. I don't make money but break even basically.
Great vid. Hopefully I will get a chance to fish with you whenever we get a chance to head back up North and book a trip

Travis you thought about going with a motor guide tour ?

PP is coming out with a trolling motor.

Hey Travis have you ever fished Blue Marsh?
I’ll post that boat in my Facebook group. I always crack up on the Nitro Hate...I mean they get the job done.
Travis buy a ranger and you’ll have a boat that will last many years .. @@SmallmouthCrush someone's getting a great "used" boat. Hope there's a better trolling motor option coming.
Do you have something against lowrance
NO in fact I love there 2d but found that garmin with the livescope and the great 2d is a better replacement over Lowrance
My buddies lowrance ghost was same way on spot lock. So don't go that route. I'd go with ultrex or motorguide

Did you ever sell you 2019 boat?
Yes I just have the 2020 now
I bet he’s gonna have 360 and live scope next year 😂 👍 I’d love to see that trav.
Oh wow 😂 never mind, I commented this before I got to that part lol
How can you not be disappointed in Mercury? The lower unit should not go out on a 1 year old outboard
I mean it sucks that it happened but there isn't an outboard out there where lower unit failure does not happen from time to time. I may go 3-4 years without and issue and than it just happens.
He’s trying to sell the boat .. he’s not gonna say it’s junk
Idk why but I see you in a Phoenix!!! Let the bird fly!
Your live shows were really niche and break away from other youtube fishing channels.... looking forward to the next one and seeing Jimmy BigTime again
Best thing about the boat is the charge
Yes!
Man I'd leave the tape around the inside of each hatch. I personally would be happier buying a boat that someone clearly cared about. But thats just me I guess. I go crazy if things are not perfect on my boat
Big fan , always appreciate your vids, but goodness could you stand still. Feels like three footers with you strolling around!
Sorry!
21:48...... You and me both my friend! It's the curse of the white man! Lol Also the walking back and forth made me dizzy.
I went back to 21:48 to see what you were talking about. I’m DYING laughing right now!!!
wait for mega 360 LIVE to come out ;)
Correct!
Make sure you match the color scheme to your favourite sweat pants.
Get ahold of me I have a solution for your scope mount
Can you reach out to me my email is travis@travismanson.com Thanks
U gonna pass on an ultrex to deal w that garmin junk!! Ultrex man whfnvthe brushless comes out swap better than dealing w garmin's
true
No not like trolling motor.
It hasn't been the best experience. I hope they work out the issues. It cost me to much down time this year.
@@SmallmouthCrush That sucks bro heem
65k+ for a boat is crazy..no way that's justified unless ur a pro..it's just a boat
Bro you just spent more at Walmart than the prize from the tournament hahahaha
And that’s tournament fishing sadly 😭😭😭😭
Get a motorguide
