In my own list of recruiting blades. I always pick the mage followers. Because i rather want them to focus on range attacks and healing. -Onmund. As a mage he is average, but has heavy armor stats that suits him with the blade armor better, then he can heal himself if taken large damage. Marcurio. Loved his personality, has a strong magic damage and so I can pick him from the blades for free when i needed him. -Illia. Since shes a follower that disappeares from the game after her quest. Instead of turning her into a steward on a house, i made her a blade member that also focuses on range magic and healing.
Reason why I avoid melee followers, is because mostly they stare at the sky when the dragon is still flying, they do use bow and arrow sometimes, but the accuracy is bad than casting spells. Sometimes melee blades get hit by large scale spells by they're fellow members causing them to kill each other when the dragon is dead and finally, melee followers mostly can't heal themselves back in the bleed out state. This problem turned themselves a burden on both the early phase of the battle and later phases.
A mix of Mage and Warrior Blades can certainly lead to friendly fire from Destruction spells while the dragon is on the ground. Also, both Marcurio and Onmund can cast the Chain Lightning spell (while they have enough Magicka) - can't this damage your allies (Blades, Followers, creatures, summons etc) as well as the player? As mentioned in the video, Illia is strictly a Frost Mage, so Frost Dragons have a 50% resistance to her Destruction spells. She must be at least given e.g. a Staff of Incineration for those instances, until it runs out of charges and you must recharge it yourself. And she has no perks. Mage Blades recruits are a bit more high maintenance, because they perform optimally when provided with as many Magicka (Regeneration) Potions and Elsweyr Fondues as you can spare and maybe a Staff or two. Melee Followers / Blades can consume Health Potions to heal themselves in combat, just not the ones brewed by the Player on an Alchemy Lab (maybe, not 100% sure). Besides these, having 3 Mage Blades seems like a really fun roster
I’m sorry, but the perfect person to join the blades is Alea the huntress it makes perfect sense the companions are moving away from being werewolves and worshiping hircine so she’s off to find her next great hunt and what better to hunt then dragons to sacrifice for the god of the hunt
great options. I chose benor, cosnach and golldir on my first playthrough. oh and don't worry, I used the parthunaax dilema mod. I would never hurt partysnacks
Forgive me for I have sinned... On my second playthrough I wanted to experiment with the options I didn't take in my first one and I did kill Big P as Delphine asked. I am still ashamed of myself.

Imagine if the game started with your execution by the hands of the dominion because you're a member of the Blades, but right before they kill you the place is invaded by the other blades who rescue you
If Delphine, the Sarah Morgan of Skyrim, is in the Blades, I'm calling it: I'm siding with the Dominion. Sorry, not sorry, but I've had enough of Delphine for 10 mer lifetimes.
The video doesn't elaborate but _Rebuilding the Blades_ should be started by talking to Delphine immediately after _Alduin's Wall_ is completed and before reading the Elder Scroll during _Alduin's Bane_ . After recruiting the 3 Followers, speak to Esbern to get the _Dragon Hunting_ radiant quest, one of those repeatable ones that send you to the same 10 (11 with Saering's Watch) Dragon Lairs, this time with the 3 Blades recruits along for the fight. Kill the Dragon at the lair, speak to Esbern again to start the 3rd quest in this mini questline: _Dragon Research_ . Give him one Dragon Bone and one Dragon Scale and he gives you Esbern's Potion, drink it to get the ultimate reward in this questline, the *Dragon Infusion* permanent perk. After that you can visit Esbern from time to time to get the _Dragon Hunting_ quest multiple times, if you want the extra help from the 3 Blades. This can only happen before the _(Kill) Paarthurnax_ quest, when they stop interacting with you, but you can just ignore them. The only thing you'll be missing after that is Esbern's *Dragonslayer's Blessing* , which seems vastly inferior to Paarthurnax's equivalent *Meditation on the Words of Power*
Borgakh Steel-Heart from Mor Khazgur is destined to be a trophy wife for some far-off chieftain if you don't convince her to leave. Additionally, she has the perfect skills for Blades gear.
Was about to suggest that. She was one of my choices for this very reason, along with Cosnack to give him a redemption arc specifically because so many players use him as a sacrificial lamb.
I love recruiting the priest of Azara, she’s kind of ditched by her God in the end of the quest told to go do her own thing and I love giving her new purpose
Delphine refusing to serve the dragonborn unless they kill Paarthurnax is a betrayal to the oath she took when she became a Blade. And as such, she should be executed. The first Blades swore fealty to Reman Cyrodil when he used the thu'um to kill THEM. Not when he slew dragons. Because there weren't any. The use of the thu'um was the sign that Reman was of the dragon blood. While it's true that theoretically anyone can learn to use the thu'um it was very rare. Only the Greybeards, known pacifists who would never use the thu'um for war, no matter how righteous, would be living non-dragon blooded thu'um wielders at the time of that Akaviri invasion if my memory serves correct. Killing just a single dragon would be a lot more of a show of power than Reman Cyrodil did. And yet Delphine has the GAUL to demand the dragonborn, one enlightened by the gods just before absolute destruction of time and space, who may also be a Shezzarine, to slay the dragon, blessed by Kyne, that led mankind's revolt against Alduin in the first place!? OFF WITH HER HEAD! When the Blades become the Vanguard against the Thalmor once again, they will not need people like Delphine.
Nice idea and nice picks. Other good choiches in terms of roleplay (but not all by skills) could be: - Borgakh Steel Hart, at Mor Khazurg: she want to live adventures, and not stay in the fortress as a wife devoted only to the chief, without other higher purposes. Why not help her? - Ghorbash Iron Hand; Dushnikh Yal: he was in the Legion before returning to the clan, but he says us that he miss the adventure and a role outside, so we can give him one! - Mijoll; Riften: She wants to make Riften a city without corruption, but not only it's hard to achieve that anyway, there are even some scenarios (based on the player choiches) where the corruption and/or crime become even stronger and nearly unavoidable in Riften. If the player complete even partially the Thief Guild questline, they become stronger in Riften, and if Maven become Jarl, by "Season unending" choiches or by Civil war, the corruption would be the soul of the city administration. In those cases, Mijoll in Riften is going to fight an unwinnable war, and maybe suffer. We can give her a new purpose in life (Delphine is not an angel, but still better than Maven). - Erik the Slayer, Rorikstead: he become a mercenary, but not because he want to live doing that specific profession, but because he want to live a life full of adventures. And with the Blades he can live many of those. - Ralis Sedarys; outside Raven Rock. At the end of the quest Unearthed, if we choose to spare him, he will fell confused, guilty and shamed for the fate of mercenaries and miners that died at the barrow while he was ander Azhidal's spell, plus after that he is going to stay at the Retching Netch without nothing to do until we recruit him. We can give him a life far away to Raven Rock and the barrow that shocked him, where he can start from zero, and maybe redeem himself. Plus i will say that any housecarl could works. They are assigned us after completing quests, but in many playthrough my character is going to live in one propoerties, or at most in 3-4 of them, but most of the time i will not play someone that is going to be a stable citizen in all the holds. The housecarls in the holds where i don't spend spare time and i don't have a property are going to stay on a chair at the entrance of the relative palace, waiting for me, a phantom thane without affairs in those holds, all the time. I prefer to put those skills on other purposes rather than waste them. The Blades are a good choices.
I always choose Golldir cus he owes ye and lacks purpose. Uthgred the Unbroken cus she lacks purpose and wants to fight. And finally Erick the Slayer cus he's an upstart with enthusiasm seeking direction (plus it saves you 500 gold each time you wanna take him out and can level high) You can meet all 3 of them too before hitting up the temple with Esbern n Daftcunt. Another good combo is 2 warrior mercenaries and the mage in riften. Won't have to pay them 500 anymore and they're all level 50.
Also inducting erik honors the elder scrolls fan who the team created the character for, the fans name was erik and he died of cancer before skyrim came out, probably died hoping he'd have a chance to explore it before his time came
Aela is one of my picks so that The Companions can be freed from lycanthropy after Vilkas & Farkas get cured. I like Uthgerd for the reasons you already went over, and my pick for the last spot is: Ralis Sedarys, if you decide to spare him at the end of Unearthed. His story isn't completely unbelievable, as people have been influenced/hypnotized before (like Brother Verulus in The Taste of Death). Recruiting him to The Blades is a fitting way for him to do good and atone for those miners' deaths.
I kinda like the idea of giving the sellswords a reason to fight. The idea of them finding a cause to believe in and finding a new sense of morality and purpose for being other then just fighting for wealth.
I think both Mjoll and Erik are very deserving of a spot in the Blades as well (aside from Erandur as my 3rd fyi). Mjoll's a good warrior, uses heavy armor and her sword grimseaver is one-handed. Besides, there's also a practical element to having her join the blades if you'd like to get up to some other shenanigans in Riften, if you know what I mean. My case for Erik is basically the same as yours. Give the man a purpose in life. His whole (mini) quest arc is about his father letting him go out into the wild world. I know he says something like he'll become a sword for hire, but let's face it, the only experience he's going to get is the one we offer him. + Erik has a really cool (real life) backstory.
I always recruit Nazeem, and optional choices such as Brenuin, Heimskr, and Narfi. Narfi keeps looking for Reyda in the Sky Haven temple while Heimskr keeps preaching about Talos, God bless the console commands.
I my recent and only-ever Blades playthrough I ended up recruting the executioner from Solitude coz I'd heard he'd keep using his Executioners Axe, and lo and behold that Dragonborn has a personal executioner.
It's insane that I've played Skyrim since its release and this is the first time I'm hearing that recruiting followers as Blades is a thing! I had NO IDEA this was a feature, crazy to be discovering new things about a 14 year old game
Handy guide for those like me wracked with indecision. Though I did use Uthgerd and Benor for different Blade-related reasons to Mephala's delight in my current playthrough.
One note for mod users to consider, is that The Unofficial Skyrim Patch, which many mod users have installed, does change the classes of several followers to match their starting equipment. This means that Cosnach is now proficient in light, rather than heavy armor, and Uthgerd proficient in two-handed, rather than one-handed weapons, which does make them poorer candidates to join the Blades after installing this patch. On the upside, Erik the Slayer is now proficient in heavy armor, making him a very capable candidate.
The followers I chose are almost similar. Illia, and Erandur are my picks, but The warrior I chose was actually Ralis. Yes, the elf who got mind scrambled by Ahzidal (I can't spell his name lol) nord lich in Solstheim. If you spare his life, he becomes a follower and he is one of the strongest followers in the game next to Teldryn Sero with his One-handed skill almost fully maxed out. I would also juggle between Ralis with Darkeethus, Uthgerd, Mjoll and Kharjo.
Worth noting that the Unofficial Patch fixes a lot of NPCs' skills and perks to better fit their default equipment. Such as changing Uthgerd to a two-handed warrior, and Cosnach to light armor. And probably all the other mismatched entries on this list.
I've gone about this a few different ways of the years, but I like to go for Nords who have Heavy-Armor and Single-Weapon styles at a minimum. I have gone the "lost adventurer" route and my preferred 3 are: Uthgerd the Unbroken, Golldir, and Erik the Slayer. Erik truly wants to be more than a mercenary, plus there are mods that change his skills to match his starting equipment (Light-Armor/Two-Weapon to Heavy-Armor/Single-Weapon).
Uthgerd and Golldir are mandatory for me. They both need an honorable purpose after their previous shortcomings. But I'm hesitant to pick Borgakh or Erik because they seem to favor the freedom of adventure over being duty-bounnd to the Blades. Speaking of duty and purpose, it does make Aranea a strong candidate once her role for Azura has concluded.
My character was a Breton from a noble family, but not full-blooded. He was a accident born from an intimate fling his father had with an imperial consort of minor Nobel lineage, he spent his days essentially being lambasted for his imperial origins. When he finally was able to visit his imperial family, around the age of young adolescence, they accepted him with open arms. They taught him about the family's history, their lineage and culture, and when the boy expressed that he wanted to learn the sword and shield, to be an unbreakable wall like they were, they taught him. This turned him into a incredibly staunch Patriot, and fueled by the inner insecurity of falling back into ostracization by failing his newfound family irks him on to further escalate that. He doesn't become a radical or anything, but he saw the dragonborn Powers as an acknowledgment of his place in the empire, and when given the ability to join/lead the blades, he will do what's necessary to do that. 😅
Yes! I have made Benor, Uthgerd, and Golldir blades. Ghorbash also is an interesting choice IMO as he doesn’t have an actual place at his stronghold, although nis class is not benefited by the blades gear. I included Vorstag as well on a playthrough just because of his skills and because he was all bored at the Silver Blood Inn.
I believe in all playthroughs that I have helped the Blades I have chosen Mjoll, for two reasons: 1. She’s essential and a great warrior so roleplay wise she is so perfect for it, she can rid Riften of Dragons and maybe even take down the Black-Briars with the help of the other Blades. 2. This means that technically the Blades get a fourth member, Aerin. So you can either see this in two ways, one is that he can become Esbern’s apprentice and can learn the history of the Blades (because he remains in his clothes, but still follows Mjoll) OR it’s an easy way to assure that he will meet an unfortunate end at the hands of the dragon. Though actually I remember on one playthrough I pickpocketed Aerin’s clothes off of him, and it ended in him in nothing but underwear coming toe to toe with a Frost Dragon, and got the kill animation on it! But he did also get killed by an ice wolf in another save file…
I always have 2 people for sure, the companion dropout lady from the Whiterun tavern, for strong melee, the mage mercenary for hire at the Riften tavern for a strong magic offensive, and then the third recruit is always whoever else I feel like in that playthrough. I don't like to take someone from another faction out of their faction, I choose followers that are kind of unaffiliated followers.
6:08 I did pick Uthgered for the same reason and Illia, since she won’t follow u after that. She never dawned the blades armor however. She was very useful as the video suggests though
I usually recruit Aranea, the Priestess of Azura, after the Azura's Star/Black Star quest for Blades. I usually either have Ulthgerd or Sven become steward to Goldenhills Plantation. That may change with Legacy Of The Dragonborn v6.
The best recruits for the blades are the ones that need a place to redeem themselves and are powerhouses to slay dragons IMO. Ralis Sedarys, a Two handed spellfighter that can summon dremora lords. if you leave him the rings of Azhidal he can use ranged fire and ice spells, if you make him a blade he will change his standard leather gear for Blades heavy armor and permantly be able to dual wield his pickaxe with a katana, the two fastest one handed weapons in the game. Erandur for long range fire magic and close range dual wielding the blades katana and his own mace. Ilia Like Ralis and Erander she has nowhere to go and specialises in lightning based magic which is useful on dragons
If the standard is interesting NPCs with nothing to do and something to atone for, then a cool choice would be Sinding... if that were possible. A werewolf dragon hunter would be cool to watch in action.
I think in addition to these guys in the vid, these followers would also fit well. Erik The Slayer - he has always wanted to be an adventurer and has you to thank. Ahtar - Imperial Headsman, blades used to serve the Empire. Mjoll The Lioness - she already pledges to protect Riften, I suppose next step is to keep it safe from dragons, which helps everywhere, and she trusts you. Anekkie Crag-Jumprr hates her life and wants to be a warrior. Derkeethis - He isn't really a part of his community, and he owes you.
I went Illia, Guy from the tomb. Those two need to have a new purpose in their relatively young lives, one has experience ith witches and such magic could be useful alchemist. The boy is young and needs purpose otherwise would be quite depressed. Lastly for lore perspective I go Erandur. He's got a lot of experience with daedra which isn't entirely relevant but still useful. He's versed in destruction magic but after devotion to Mara for the last couple decades as he says, he would be a useful healer. He would also outlive Esbern and Delphine and likely become the new recruiter. A Blades Grand Master in Skyrim who is a Dark elf who was a devote agent of Mara is so good for many reasons
With the Crusader armor from Oblivion being added in creation club (and using the armor stand duplication glitch), I like to make Erandur into a Knight of the Nine given his holy calling in the game.
I picked the unbroken lady from white run. The guy from the dark elf tomb quest golldir. And last it was between cosnach and benor from morthal picked cosnach
I put frea in the blades, while she had a purpose, i found it kinda fitting that the woman who helped the dragonborn to kill miraak, will help the dragonborn killing dragons
I usually go with 3 Characters who scale up to level 30 wich is Eric the Slayer, the female Wizzard from Rifton for elemental support and the 3rd is optional, another melee damage dealer or a bow user.
Apparently, this list is different if using the Unofficial Skyrim Patch version 2.0.9. Quote UESP: “If using the Unofficial Skyrim Patch 2.0.9. or higher, followers who are skilled with this equipment (Heavy Armor, One Handed) are: Erik the Slayer, Kharjo, Adelaisa Vendicci, Golldir, Ria, Torvar, Borgakh the Steel Heart, Ghorbash the Iron Hand, and Celann.” I have no idea if this is accurate, but that’s what I read. No idea if these characters are actually bugged in vanilla or if this is just a weird balance change made by USP.
Since I never slay Paarthurnax, I view Rebuilding the Blades quest as the Dragonborn sending people there for training or gaining lives' purpose, but not actually go dragon hunting. So I too, pick Uthgerd the Unbroken. As for the other, the first is Erik the Slayer, mostly because I think he need some proper training, and since he won't the life of adventurer, it would be cruel to make him a steward (if I really want to play a cruel Dragonborn, then I will use him for Boethiah quest instead). As for the third, I used to pick Aranea Ienith since I were dumb enough to restore Azura Star, but nowaday it's Illia.
The best answers are Marcurio Stenvar Vorstag 3 mercenary follows, higher max stats than almost all those in this list, making them a blade makes them free to hire. Vorstag is an amazing 1 handed warrior, stenvar 2 handed, marcurio is already a top 5 follower for his dps alone now he gets free armour and is rehirable for free
I always found it odd that dragon slayers use katanas instead of something like picks, spears, and large cleavers/ axes. You know something to bypass or move between strong scales that are almost on par with the best metals on the planet?
I usually recruit Uthgerd, Ilia, and Erik the Slayer to the Blades. They're good companions for a bit but are quickly replaced by better ones. Still, I like them so I want to give them a purpose in life.
Kharjo should be replaced with Aranea Ienith, I think. After Black Star quest on Azura's side she feels lost and alone. It would be a great chance for her to start another life.
For only my Nord in the Imperial Legion character: Cosnach - Dude is out of a job anyway, thanks to the Forsworn. Illia - My Stormcloak or neutral playthroughs, she is a steward to my homestead otherwise, best to use her before that bug as well. Uthgerd - Companions rejected her Otherwise, my Stormcloak and neutral DB's flip off the Blades. Paarthurnax, aka "Dragon Yoda" lives for them.
Me in Stormcloak playthrough = Uthgerd the Unbroken, Ogol and Cosnach, spare Paarthurnax. 😇 Me in Imperial Playthrough = Jordis the Sword-Maiden, Gregor and Rayya, kill Paarthurnax.😭
My recommendation is none of them, since you won't get this far in the quest on account of you not betraying an ally on the paranoia of an insubordinate underling

@@octavianpopescu4776 Its ok. he will be immortalized in one of your playthroughs forever. also surely everyone has atleast tried to kill parthunaax once...

The blades making a comeback for es6 would be sick if you're against the dominion
Those mobile game Blades is descent I'd be down for a full AAA showing.
Hush babe Master Neloth uploaded a new video
Ngl if I had choice wouldn't bother
Thanks, hon!
Borgakh Steel-Heart from Mor Khazgur is destined to be a trophy wife for some far-off chieftain if you don't convince her to leave. Additionally, she has the perfect skills for Blades gear.
I love buying her dowry out and then eventually marrying her so that the Tribe thrives and she gets a strong husband.
I like to recruit she too
Was about to suggest that.
Love your videos. The way you say 'however' is mantling itself into my vocabulary.
@@damonl9981 Good! 😈
Nice idea and nice picks. Other good choiches in terms of roleplay (but not all by skills) could be:
- Borgakh Steel Hart, at Mor Khazurg: she want to live adventures, and not stay in the fortress as a wife devoted only to the chief, without other higher purposes.
Also, nice usage of the Daggefall's tavern music at the end, I love that game
I always choose Golldir cus he owes ye and lacks purpose. Uthgred the Unbroken cus she lacks purpose and wants to fight. And finally Erick the Slayer cus he's an upstart with enthusiasm seeking direction (plus it saves you 500 gold each time you wanna take him out and can level high) You can meet all 3 of them too before hitting up the temple with Esbern n Daftcunt.
Another good combo is 2 warrior mercenaries and the mage in riften. Won't have to pay them 500 anymore and they're all level 50.
Yup, pick any 3 mercenaries and you never have to pay them again.
You forgot benor from morthal, he asks you to fist fight him and then he can be a follower
Also inducting erik honors the elder scrolls fan who the team created the character for, the fans name was erik and he died of cancer before skyrim came out, probably died hoping he'd have a chance to explore it before his time came
Kharjo gets recruited, so I don’t have to have a min quest finding him, every time I wanna hang with him.
Illia is much better as a Steward, making Uthgerd a blade gives her life purpose
Aela is one of my picks so that The Companions can be freed from lycanthropy after Vilkas & Farkas get cured.
I like Uthgerd for the reasons you already went over, and my pick for the last spot is:
Ralis Sedarys, if you decide to spare him at the end of Unearthed. His story isn't completely unbelievable, as people have been influenced/hypnotized before (like Brother Verulus in The Taste of Death).
Recruiting him to The Blades is a fitting way for him to do good and atone for those miners' deaths.
Divines bless you. May the ground you walk quake as you pass.
Another fantastic video from Master Neloth!
As someone who plays both the blades and stormcloaks almost every playthrough thank you as I spent so long trying to figure out who to choose.
🗣️Rebel dog
Long live the Empire!
Don't worry about the cucks brother. Skyrim belongs to the Nords.
A traitor AND a partysnax killer, can it get any worse?
My respect to you, son of Skyrim. Fret not what the spineless, milk drinking Nancy boys have to say about you.
Narfi keeps looking for Reyda in the Sky Haven temple while Heimskr keeps preaching about Talos, God bless the console commands.
im addicted to watching your videos lol glad i found your channel
I my recent and only-ever Blades playthrough I ended up recruting the executioner from Solitude coz I'd heard he'd keep using his Executioners Axe, and lo and behold that Dragonborn has a personal executioner.
I also recruited Ralis (the Kolbjorn barrow) guy as he also deserves a chance at redemption, in my opinion.
Always a good day when Master Neloth uploads ❤
It's insane that I've played Skyrim since its release and this is the first time I'm hearing that recruiting followers as Blades is a thing! I had NO IDEA this was a feature, crazy to be discovering new things about a 14 year old game
I was waiting for a video like this. I think you are the first to do so.
Bravo. Thought out, well organized and great presentation. Good job.
Great argument and hi from Italy 😊
“I lied, I don’t have Smash, you’re watching Master Neloth”
I'd like to see something like this for the Stewards.
I love having Illia as a steward. Preferably the Morthal home. The spooky vibes fit with her so well. :D
Yeah totally did NOT hear “witch” at 4:56 lmao. Had to do a double take.
I would always have loved a mod that let's me recruit more blades and build other hideouts for the blades
Handy guide for those like me wracked with indecision. Though I did use Uthgerd and Benor for different Blade-related reasons to Mephala's delight in my current playthrough.
Kharjo joining always made sense to me what better way to protect the caravans than by slaying the dragons which haunt the landscape they travel on
if you go with the blades instead of my boy party snacks there must be something wrong with you
One note for mod users to consider, is that The Unofficial Skyrim Patch, which many mod users have installed, does change the classes of several followers to match their starting equipment.
Delphines existence makes me think the Thalmor are the good guys
They are the good guys, elven supremacy is the only truth!
Nah, this ain't it
The followers I chose are almost similar.
This is a great question! This is very creative.
Worth noting that the Unofficial Patch fixes a lot of NPCs' skills and perks to better fit their default equipment. Such as changing Uthgerd to a two-handed warrior, and Cosnach to light armor. And probably all the other mismatched entries on this list.
The Unofficial Patch changes Cosnach's Heavy Armor skill to Light Armor.
Well like he said he’s better off as a sacrifice than a blade
Yeah I hate that. The patch changes every follower to use what they're default equipped with and not the other way around. It's very frustrating.
Uthgerd is my favorite follower and I use her in all my playthroughs.
I used to recruit the main members of the Companions. Just felt like it kinda made sense from a warrior ambition perspective.
Shitt.. get a life my dude.
I believe in all playthroughs that I have helped the Blades I have chosen Mjoll, for two reasons:
It's funny I was just debating this with my self
nobody is the real answer. All my homies let the blades die out.
Good thing i dont know you
I love the "who to recruit for..." series
6:08 I did pick Uthgered for the same reason and Illia, since she won’t follow u after that. She never dawned the blades armor however. She was very useful as the video suggests though
Love these videos
Ilia
Like Ralis and Erander she has nowhere to go and specialises in lightning based magic which is useful on dragons
Derkeethis - He isn't really a part of his community, and he owes you.
nice list!
Could you do a video ranking all the followers?
It would be really fun to have your opinion on them.
Quote UESP:
“If using the Unofficial Skyrim Patch 2.0.9. or higher, followers who are skilled with this equipment (Heavy Armor, One Handed) are: Erik the Slayer, Kharjo, Adelaisa Vendicci, Golldir, Ria, Torvar, Borgakh the Steel Heart, Ghorbash the Iron Hand, and Celann.”
I have no idea if this is accurate, but that’s what I read.
The best answers are
Marcurio
Stenvar
Vorstag
3 mercenary follows, higher max stats than almost all those in this list, making them a blade makes them free to hire. Vorstag is an amazing 1 handed warrior, stenvar 2 handed, marcurio is already a top 5 follower for his dps alone now he gets free armour and is rehirable for free
No one the blades deserve their fate they are so desperate to return they would have you kill a dragon that saved the world.
Haven’t watched the video but want to give my go-to Blades first - Uthegard the Unbroken, Erik the Slayer, Brogukh the steel heart
Just use Paarthurnax Quest Expansion so you don't have to kill him for the blades
The correct answer is No One. Do not recruit anyone. A life lesson to live by: if she hates your boy Party Snacks then she is no good.
I wish there was a destroy the blades quest
Greetings my master. Let your wisdom guide me
Erandur, Erik the Slayer, and J’zargo
I always found it odd that dragon slayers use katanas instead of something like picks, spears, and large cleavers/ axes. You know something to bypass or move between strong scales that are almost on par with the best metals on the planet?
Benor , Illia , uthgert and erandur ...they wanted adventure they got adventure
I refuse to help the Blades
I usually recruit Uthgerd, Ilia, and Erik the Slayer to the Blades. They're good companions for a bit but are quickly replaced by better ones. Still, I like them so I want to give them a purpose in life.
i never knew you could recruit members
Kharjo should be replaced with Aranea Ienith, I think. After Black Star quest on Azura's side she feels lost and alone. It would be a great chance for her to start another life.
considering you have to kill Paarthurnax to do this Quest I literally never do this Quest
I like to make Ilia steward of my Hearthfire house. She deserves some peace and a nicer place to stay than that tower.
agreed, I let her stay in Lakeview Manor, it's peaceful and quiet, she dose honest work and it's close to Cyrodiil, her people's homeland.
God tier.
Illia, relys sedaris and goldir for the blades! 👍✌️💪
For only my Nord in the Imperial Legion character:
Cosnach - Dude is out of a job anyway, thanks to the Forsworn.
Illia - My Stormcloak or neutral playthroughs, she is a steward to my homestead otherwise, best to use her before that bug as well.
Uthgerd - Companions rejected her
Otherwise, my Stormcloak and neutral DB's flip off the Blades. Paarthurnax, aka "Dragon Yoda" lives for them.
Me in Stormcloak playthrough = Uthgerd the Unbroken, Ogol and Cosnach, spare Paarthurnax. 😇
Me in Imperial Playthrough = Jordis the Sword-Maiden, Gregor and Rayya, kill Paarthurnax.😭
Paarthurnax dilemma mod everyday... To oblivion with the blades
My recommendation is none of them, since you won't get this far in the quest on account of you not betraying an ally on the paranoia of an insubordinate underling
Always recruit Illia and Kharjo. Deerkethus, the argonian from Darkwater Cross is good too.
Just wanna point out. I'm curious if you can make a video explaining who the best Elder Scrolls protagonist lore wise is(if there's enough lore)
