Your channel is awesome. It's clear that you take pride in your work and are a true professional. You explain everything very well and I appreciate the no nonsense approach. No flashy intro, no annoying music and no off topic tangents. You get right down to business with no BS. Much respect.
Thank you very much Oscar for that video. In an internet world where every detail is perfect and flawless is very refreshing to see expectable results from a family hauler. Keep up the good work.
I am glad you made this vid. Great job and you taught me how to better use my steam cleaner. I have the same kind and it’s great. I just did my first paid detail job today but didn’t get to finish the compound due to rain but will continue tomorrow. It’s a satisfying job and I see why you do it. Thank you for all your knowledge bro. I am 55 years old and it’s never to late to learn and start a business after retirement. God bless.
Love your channel Oscar! We love any videos you can post. It is well understood that you still have to make a living FIRST and then post videos later. All of your expertise is very much appreciated sir.
Don't apologise for your videos. If I lived in your country you will be my go to detailing expert. Since I don't live anywhere near I will enjoy your videos and wish you super success. Think about it. You are helping make this world a cleaner place one car at a time! Yay
I understand your point of how it's a pain to record and detail at the same time but it is VERY HELPFUL. Maybe next time show one seat, one rug area, one headliner area, etc. to cut down on time. Or just keep banging out more videos separately. Thanks man for your help!!
Looking to start my own detailing/ paint correction business and you're vid probabably pushed me to do it a bit more . I'm about you're age I believe and I wasn't sure how do go about this business but you pointed out a lot of good points bro. Subscribed !
Nice. If I start seeing more and more cloth and carpet business coming my way I will deff. Invest in the brush attachment for my DA. I have the Steamer at least though. Ended up getting the Mcculloch 1375 instead of the 1385. It's smaller and just less continuous run time and 3 less attachments but I just have a Corolla so I'm more worried about running out of space
What do you charge for basic wash exterior. Interior vacuum, dash, inside windows. And your version of a basic wash inside and out. Can you share ways to generate customers. Thank you for your time, you are very well articulated. Is there a detail carpet/ cloth seat brush with a drill attachment.
That's a lot of questions! Haha. Thanks for the kind words. 1) $30 to $60 2) $30 to $60 3) wash, tires, wheels, gas cap / thorough vacuum, wipe down interior, clean glass and mirrors 4) online marketing- SEO, Facebook, Instagram, UA-cam
Where did you get the brush for your 3 inch GG polisher? I searched on Autogeek then Amazon and could not find it. Is it made by Griot's Garage or some other company? I still do interiors by hand, I think using the polisher would save me a lot of muscle ache ;) And most likelly a little bit of time too.
can you recommend other brushes? hard to soft bristle brushes? and do you always use the same type of brush on the same polisher? how often do you change your brushes?
Well you don't want to use the extractor as that may clog some things up. Maybe you can vacuum depending on the type of vacuum. If you use a steamer, the brushes might be done for. Have you done anything to it?
Oscar looks like the SUV I did for my customer that as three children. I am the only one she will every touch her vehicle, I love the headliner looks like a canvas of a artist. I love how children take time to draw on the headliner with either with chocolate or some kind of cookies. What kind of brush are you using on your drill??
Jamming an air gun between the back and bottom of the seat if its one solid cloth peice in the back works wonders to blow out stuck debris. After using a compressor in my work I wouldnt ever go back i didnt realize the difference it made until i used it
Hello Oscar, great Video Brother, just a question where can I get a polisher like yours? What's the model and brand? Thanks and keep up the great work!
Detail Groove I saw in one of your video that you spray just a Little amount of solution and the seat makes cleaner.... what kind of solution you use?, and can i buy it?
I wish you worked in Lubbock! I’ve been dying to find someone who can do a full detail for my car. It’s not even that bad, it’s just a little musty due to its age. However I’ve found it’s hard to find a reliable detailing place
Question: I baught a used car from a girl. The car is pretty good but the girl didnt really take care of interior very well and the gray cloth seats have this brown tint to them that just looks disgusting. I later figured out it was makeup on the seats. Any suggestions on what i can use to get makeup stains out, i tried the store bought foam product for cloth seats but the makeup is tough to get out.
You can buy Super Clean locally. Dilute it in a spray bottle 10:1. Spray, use a brush to agitate (or towel if that's what you have), then use a towel to mop up. Repeat till you like the results
What’s the best way to clean dog hair off my headliner of my Lexus RX330. The vacuum isn’t cutting it. I guess I could use the sticky side of tape, but I’m hoping there’s an easier way. Great videos so far. Just found you and sub’d, working my way through your list. Wish you were in my area.
Thanks for the kind words! Check this video out. You'll want to use that rubber brush (also check the comments as there's A BUNCH of alternatives): ua-cam.com/video/j1rNI5REebE/v-deo.html
In one of his first material videos he says a pet hair brush is almost essential, it seems like a pretty good idea so I would try it! but seeing from his other videos he uses his all purpose cleaning and just a brush to really pick that stuff up.
I charged $120 and it took me 5 hours. Had I priced it properly, it should have been $180. You live and learn. You can find the polisher and brush on AutoGeek. Here's the brush: www.autogeek.net/grulsoupbr1.html
Detail Groove thanks bro, I'm in Dallas and planning on starting my own detailing business soon, your videos truly help. On a serious note though how are you still able upload videos and find work after Hurricane Harvey? 😱 I keep seeing you mention Houston your home, and wonder if the flood affected your business.
Well goodluck on your venture! And yes, Houston and south east Texas got hit reallllllyyyyyyyyy bad. I know families that literally lost everything. However, there were many homes and families that were not affected and they are back to "normal" operations
Bro I have to ask, what do you think is the best cleaning solution to use on the nastiest, brown stained carpets? This minivan killed me; I mixed ZEP spot cleaner + APC + water, brushed it in, then used the steamer, THEN used the extractor AND STILL those stains were NOT going away! DEAD. I had a degreaser but I didnt think to use that maybe? DO you think I should've let the solution settle in for 10-15min? I saw somewhere someone was using Dawn platinum + alcohol + oxyclean and water? Maybe? but like...I have to be telling these people I can CLEAN but I cant RESTORE. That stain from a 2000 minivan is NOT going away. Ppl telling me I should only be taking 3 hours for a full detail and im in 7 hours deep to comply! No way! Alright, enough.
Respect as always for ur tremendous effort just a quick advice u shouldn't show where u keep ur keys and phone I suggest u hide them in a new place. I wish u the best of luck . Regards
Hey I don't know how costly they are but perhaps invest in a GoPro or something hands free? Also, do you ever clean under the hood and is there a certification required for interior detailing?
Helloo sir....my car have a dusty odour tried various perfumes but all of no use.my car runs very less so i clean it once in a month or two. What can i do to get ride of that dusty odour???
Lmk if you ever move to Pennsylvania! Your hired 😉. If you haven't ever checked out detail king they have a nice cleaner for fabric seats that you don't won't to get too wet since they may stain more (not the suburban seats) it's called Fiber Pro. Works great on those cheap light color tan cloth seats 👍🏻 good video bud
Dude get an extractor! All that dirt in the cloth, plus the chemicals and water from the steam should be pulled out more efficiently than a microfiber cloth.
I had an Aztec extractor for roughly a year. Unless the vacuum has enough suction power where doesn't need multiple passes to suck up the water it's injected, it's not worth it IMO (the cloth gets wetter, the vacuum doesn't suck it up good enough, takes longer to dry). The Mytee Lite II is awesome, but way too clunky to carry around. I could use a wet/dry vac to suck out the solution, but at the end, trying all those things, the steamer and mopping up with a towel is getting the customer and I the results we want
Detail Groove do you have the chest attachment be cause you can put it on your chest and get good footage of you cleaning or put it on you head and do the same so you have both hands

Making me dread cleaning my cloth seats in my 2009 GMC sierra lol. Great video man as always!!
Hahah yeah, cloth seat take a bit of time! Thanks for watching :)
Hi great videos, will that brush attachment fit all machine polishers?
Thanks
Thanks! And I'm not entirely sure? I think it will fit almost all dual action polishers?
Oscar, love my Aqua Pro! Thanks for the recommendation!!!!!!!!
Woot!
Another helpful video. I am going to purchase the steamer based on your recommendations.
GREAT!
Good Work!!!!
Thanks David!

What can one do if after cleaning the cloth seats they are faded. Is there something to put on them to make them look better?
Hmm, what do you mean by faded?
@@DetailGroove The just look dull and I want to make them look bright and like new.
Hi mate, how would you approach cloth interior seats that have engine oil staining on them? Cheers
Yikes, that's pretty serious. What tools do you have?
Detail Groove I know man haha. I've got an extractor, a steamer and the usual chemicals, ie g101, upholstery shampoos. Cheers

Hi, i have a question, the steamer does make the dirt come at the surface or make it to be more easy to extract the dirt? (sry for my bad english)
Ehh, an extractor would probably be easier
Detail Groove I saw in one of your video that you spray just a Little amount of solution and the seat makes cleaner.... what kind of solution you use?, and can i buy it?
What is the solution in the bottle spray bro?thanks
It's Super Clean diluted 10:1
Thanks bro
1 more question bro..what can i put in my steam cleaner??just water???help plz thanks
i just put tap water
I'm going to Texas this summer, not excited about the heat lol
The heat is manageable. It's the humidity that is terrible
Detail Groove in that case I think I'll be okay, I'm from Miami 😅
Oh, and your water is much better than ours, lol. It is a health hazard to go into Galveston
Is there a cordless steam cleaner?
Most likely not. I haven't seen one
What type of polisher do you use?
It's a Griot Garage 6" polisher: www.autogeek.net/new-griots-polisher.html
How much did you charge the customer for the van cloth seat and floor mat job. Thank You. Your videos are awesome.
Thanks for the kind words Ron! I think I left a comment somehwere. I forgot the exact price by now.. I think it was like $140?
How long does it usually take to dry the seats with this method of cleaning?
Within 2 hours it should be 90% dry if it's relatively warm outside
Also this is weird but how would u clean the seat belts.
I wish you worked in Lubbock! I’ve been dying to find someone who can do a full detail for my car. It’s not even that bad, it’s just a little musty due to its age. However I’ve found it’s hard to find a reliable detailing place

The video goes so fast, what is the red machine you are using? Why do you need two machines?
It's a Griot Garage 6" polisher: www.autogeek.net/new-griots-polisher.html
What steam cleaner will do good steam cleaning and vacuuming for house and car and grout in ceramic tiles?
A steamer does not vacuum. If you want to clean grout, I'd go with the VX5000
What's up bud hey how long it takes for you to do an interior Detail in that suburban
between 4 to 7 hours depedning on condition
What steamers would you recommend?
I use the McCulloch 1385 steamer
What part of Texas are you?
Good ol Houston
Would super clean attract more dirt and make seat stain again?
How much do you charge in your area to clean seats like you did here?
Between $180 to $240
How do you know you have used enough water/steam to remove/rinse the apc away off the seats? Is there any risk of apc still remaining in the seats?
How much did you charge for that detail?
I think $140
I can't say how much I appreciate your video. but my question is how many time you refill the steamer
You're welcome! And just once :)
How much did you charge for that suburban interior Detail
I think $160? Not sure. It was a while back

Detail Groove what is your email, I'd like to see if you can help me with the detailing process.
How do you price for a partial cleaning? You are not doing the full interior detail but just headliner, seats and carpet...
It's really going to come down to experience. Seats always take the longest, carpets can take long based on condition..
Detail Groove I was meaning, if you charge $200 for a complete interior detail and then do what that client wanted how do you pair down the cost?
Experience and gut feeling. Sometimes I'll undersell, sometimes I'll make a great profit. I don't use a specific formula.
Where do you get your shirts made?
I had them made locally but there's a bunch of online options
How much you charge for something like this seats, carpet, headliner
$180 to $240

oops, I was on the wrong video. This would be $140 quoted properly

all purpose cleaner
How many cars do you do on average

Anywhere between 2 to 6.. Although the number of cars you service is irrelevant. Focus on the average ticket price of each car

How much did u charge?
I think $200?
I do most of them in the dealerships. and private car sometime.
