DIY Tiki Torch Stands

- We had three tiki torches to keep on the back deck, but no way to keep them safely upright. So I already had some cement and had the idea to use it to make some holders for the torches. Worked out pretty well.

Awesome DIY. Took me about an hour to do 8 of them. Use at LEAST an 8” pot. When the fuel canister is full, the weight at the top makes the base unstable if it’s smaller than that. I filled my pots half full of of quickcrete
I absolutely love this idea and am going to make some today
LOVE this! Just what I needed -- especially the mobility of the pots. Thank-you
Sooo curious though. With nowhere for water to drain, have you created mosquitoes hot beds ? Water will pool on top of the concrete and mosquitoes will thrive? Just my 1st thought.
I figured that out after the video. I drilled some small drain holes in the sides later on.
I wish I could give 10 thumbs up for the rock solid pun at the end 💯
Great idea
Thanks for the insight 👍🏽
Thats a great idea! I have all those materials at home..... and want to try it so I don't have to make holes in the ground....
Awesome! Taking back my stand to Lowes 😊
Thank you for this!
I did the same thing last year such an awesome idea.
Can I ask what size pot you purchased?
Love this
Great job! Looks Rock Solid!
It's literally rock solid, too, because of the cement. Haha
Thank so much this video was right on time
Thanks for the idea I did 3 yesterday it looks awesome.
Nice! Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment. That is awesome!
Solid as a rock!
Indeed.
made these, unfortunately with the slightest nudge of the lawn mower it easily tipped, luckily it wasn't on. I like the idea overall, but i'm going to buy the square pot next time to give it a wider base.
I'm scared to have these around if there are kids or a dog because when filled they are top heavy
I didn‘t have that problem. Mine were pretty stable with the concrete poured in the base. Maybe you could go for a slightly bigger pot with more concrete?
That’s why these are moveable.
@@kellimucci1414 and very tippable. Things can be moveable and still sturdy you know
I might try this. It sounds better than paying $15 each for the official tiki stands.
Thanks so much for this vid!
Rock solid 😂😂😂😂 great video and idea
👌🏽☺.awesome idea
great idea!! I subscribed. thanks
What is diameter and height of pot please? Thank you.
+Chris McDowell this is such a awsome idea😁I love it,and it looks realy nice, and expensive!
Thanks! Easy peasy I’m doing this to some weeping willows trees
rock solid, lol
Can you please tell what's the height of the plastic pot?
I have the same question actually
Did we ever find out the height of the pot?
Hmm. Tiki torch stakes are about $3 each. This solution sounds more expensive.
It probably is 😂
Pond pebbles are roughly $5 depending on the pebbles. The quikrete is also $5 so $10 investment compared to the stakes which are $5 where i am.
The neat thing about this is the decor of the pot and the pebbles can compliment the home nicely compared to the simply stake (but that all depends if you want it in the ground or in a pot).
