With his close, personal relationship to the Los Angeles gang culture, Spellman, who is a violence prevention counselor by day has become a central figure in bringing peace to the community. Gentrification is happening everywhere. Our family went from living in the city to the suburbs but now what used to be black and brown neighborhoods are white. They bought the land cheap so the developers are making a killing and it’s cause not just the rent but the property taxes to go up and I’m in Dallas Tx. The housing has doubled. A 3 bedroom used to rent for about 1200.00 now it’s about 2200-2500.00. To the youth save and invest your money plus make sure you have good credit. Invest in education and trades because even having a trade is an asset.
