Good enough isn't good enough. We're always looking to improve what we make and expand our range, when it's the right thing to do.
As soon as Seiko announced their new NH34 GMT automatic movement, we knew it would be the perfect movement for our Holton range -- bulletproof NH35 heritage plus an independent jumping GMT hand, keeping the clarity from the OG Holton Professional tool watches undiluted, whilst offering a GMT dual time zone feature we hadn't offered previously.
Taking all our design language from the original Holton, this model honours everything we already know and love, with the added benefit of it now being able to show 'Zulu Time' when you're away from home. Paired with our Flat Dark Earth rubber strap, this nods to its military issued brother with a twist of colour that just works.
Our Holtons have earned their reputation worldwide time and again and in the worst conditions imaginable, so we don't mess with what works: the dial and hands are unchanged from the very first prototypes we drew almost a decade ago - bold truncated pyramid hour markers printed in high performance X1 C3 Superluminova reminiscent of 1970s military dive watches - brought up to date with our trademark 12-3-6-9 cardinal graphics, with white triangles to help orientate the watch when it’s dark and aid rapid timing readings.
A stubby ‘sword’ hour hand and a long slender parallel minutes hand that reaches precisely to the minute markers minimise the chance of confusion, with the Crow's Foot/Broad Arrow-tipped GMT hand paying respect to the OG issued Holton quartz with its NSN, as well as being legible day or night, reaching the perfect distance beyond the hour hand.
Very minor internal tweaks to our proven shock proofed Holton case mean the GMT version is no thicker than the NH35 automatic version at 14mm, but never being ones to miss an opportunity for some design work, we designed a beautiful new deep etched and brushed case back graphic with an EB shield/globe logo, referencing the GMT movement whilst differentiating it from the other Holton models.
Equipped with a triple-sealed screw-down crown positioned at 4 o'clock for assured water resistance and fortification against the elements. the high grip 120 click bezel, coupled with solid steel gunmetal casing, has a tactical aesthetic while providing exceptional durability. The matt gunmetal hue not only adds a touch of sophistication but also enhances resilience with it's 1200HV hardness
If you're struggling to choose between the quartz and automatic versions, we wrote a little article here on the pros and cons of each.
As our way of saying thank you to serving and ex serving military personnel, we're always happy to offer 20% MIL/LE/first responder discount on all our standard watches. Please email info@elliotbrownwatches.com with proof of service to find out more.

Thanks for the heads up on the strap length. It's on my radar and I have a 7 3/4 inch wrist so will probably go for a bracelet. I saw Elliott Brown at Redbar's Best of British show. Lovely people and you're right about the lume, it's top notch.

Hi Barry, EB hail from Poole: I'll see if I can pop in to see them the next time I'm there.
This has definite Sinn vibes, although some of the details are disappointing: the recessed crown and uni directional bezel to name two.
I'd have rather seen a Miyota 9075 installed instead of the Seiko, but if it's been regulated properly perhaps we can forgive them... perhaps...
I like what EB are trying to achieve here, but nevertheless I feel it's a work in progress which needs to progress somewhat further before I could take it seriously.
Look after yourself Barry, LG Bob 🍻

@@robertlock6041 I think they a good brand to keep an eye on as I like the way there heading. It would be nice to see them slim down there case and maybe add a thicker case back as that would give the illusion of a slimmer watch.

Cracking review and watch. I really like the look of this one. Pointless having a mono directional bezel on a non dive watch really, but it’s a minor point and no great hardship. Strap designed for weeny wrists as usual - thanks for the heads up. But yes, I really like it. Bob continues to display excellent taste. You didn’t put it on the timegrapher though?

I just had to check myself but I do test it at 7:25, the reading was -1.5 which is pretty respectable PS I had a feeling you my of liked Bobs choice 😁

I've always been intrigued by the EB Holtons. Hope you could likewise get a hold of and make a review of the EB Holton IP bronze on a bracelet. I just wished they had smaller variants at least 41mm with a smaller L2L. The current size has been holding me back for some time. I almost did pull the trigger on these when they were first launched sometime back. Cheerio!

Great review. I flipped my quartz version and regretted doing it. But now with automatic movement and GMT it’s definitely on my radar again. I just wish (like a few other fellas here) it was a little smaller. Having said that it was made for a certain purpose and big is better for tactical use so we have to accept it. Cheers.

its going to be borderline as the lug to lug size is 52mm, try measuring that against your wrist Jim. That will give you an idea of the size

They should've put 24 hr markers on rehaut, and made the bezel bi-directional. Easy way to get 3 time zones. But no.

Its on for £730 from FCW website which is about the same price as a run of the mill Seiko with questionable QC, say a Sumo. The EB I think stands head and shoulder over it. It feel like a watch which could be run over by a tank and not pick up a scratch matey

I picked this one up after watching this review! Awesome, rugged watch. The only complaint is the the date window. Why is it there? And if they’re going to add it, why is it so small? I have to use my phone camera to see the date! If I have to do that, why wear a watch?
