Thank you for the blurring powder roundup, Lisa! My mature, dry under eyes love the WA pressed powder with either a brush or preferably a puff. Another blurring powder for mature, dry skin and under eyes is the Chantecaille HD Perfecting Powder. It's truly lovely on mature skin and rivals CDP.

    Hi Lisa,
    Thanks for this review.
So out of all of these, i think you are recommending the Rodeo loose powder for under the eyes.
And you said the pressed powders were better for blurring.
Would you say the Chanticay one (the first one you mentioned) is the most blurring?

Hi Lisa! This video is so helpful - I’m currently trying to decide between the Westman Atelier (either translucent or crème) and the Chantecaille Perfect Blur. I have quite large pores around my nose and forehead which I’m keen to blur while still retaining as natural looking a finish as possible. I have combination skin and prefer a natural/satin finish to my makeup. The WA looks beautiful in demos but I feel like the Chantecaille seems more smoothing/blurring overall - it seems like people tend to buff it in a lot to really get the smoothing effect, while the Westman Atelier looks like it lends itself to a more gentle/light touch application, which makes me think it’s not as blurring. But, I’m not sure if the Chantecaille powder would possibly be too yellow for me (I’m fair/light neutral, leaning more cool than warm) which makes me gravitate back towards the WA. So tough to say without being able to test the products in person - any insights you could share would be very appreciated! Thank you!

    • @lisabillson
      @lisabillson  5 місяців тому

So sorry for the late reply! I was away or a month receiving treatments! The Chantecaille powder is definitely more smoothing and blurring on the skin - the Westman Atelier is like you said, much more gentle and subtle on the skin - it's virtually undetectable and doesn't really provide any coverage/or mattifying on the skin! If you are fair/light neutral, I do actually think the Chantecaille powder will be a bit too deep - my Sister is fair neutral and it's too deep for her - if you are light neutral, I think it could work, but fair skin would definitely be too deep. You could also try the Sisley blue expert powder in the shade 0 which I think would be a better shade and is more comparable to the Chantecaille than the Westman Atelier powder is! ❤

Thanks for mentioning the Givenchy powder. I had no idea it had sparkles. I do my makeup in artificial light so I never saw them. Sure enough, when I looked at it in direct sunlight, they were as plain as the sparkles on my face! Time to buy a new powder...

Thanks Lisa for your good recommendations, I have bought both of the Chantacaille powders from your recommendation ❤❤, I want it to try the CDP but the old formula had talc, it seems the new formula it doesn’t, now I can try it. @@Me-zw8tc it kind of depends on your skin type & texture. I am 47 with Combination-Oily skin and some texture from enlarged pores / teenage acne. The Sisley Refining Blur Expert works best under foundation and is excellent at blurring pores. 2nd I'd say the Cle de Peau Refining powder and then also the Givenchy Prism Libre loose powder! I do think the extra cost is worth it when the product performs so well! For me, I want my cosmetics to also last the 8 hour day at work & the Sisley Blur Expert really extends the longevity of foundation wear time! 🙂

    Hi Lisa,
I have normal to dry skin with oily forehead and my favourite pressed powders are Sisley Phyto Poudre Compact and Hermes translucent powder. For Sisley powder I use Sonia G Buffer Pro or Chantecaille Buff&Blur and for Hermes powder I use Rae Morris 22 Pro Powder brush (the softest brush I ever had and I have squirrel face brushes as well).
I am tempted to try the Chantecaille powder for comparison. 🙂 Also I am curious about Dolce&Gabbana Solar Glow Bare Skin Beautifier Universal Blurring Powder but unfortunately it is not available in Australia. 😟
    Thanks for sharing!🙂

I LOVE Rae Morris brushes, but haven't tried that one out!! You are inspiring me to pick it up! Dolce & Gabbana isn't available in Canada either, so sadly I can't test that out either! The Chantecaille powder is truly gorgeous - if you ever pick it up, you will have to let me know your thoughts! ❤

    • @lisabillson

Great question!! I actually only like using the Buffing Brush WITH the glow powder - I use the Sonia G Master Face brush go.shopmy.us/p-3657570 or my Wayne Goss brush for my other powders! I prefer this one for my pressed powders, since the brush is a bit more dense and does a better job of blurring the skin!

Excellent! I’m far more into blue than I am into dew. Do you have an under eye powder favorite that is talc free? I’m on the extreme side of dry so maybe someone has a product suggestion. These are great picks. I waited so long to shop the Lotus powder. Are you interested in trying the new Burberry powder? Lexi Jong compared it to the CdP reformulation.

The new Cle De Peau powder has no talc in it! So happy they removed that ingredient - otherwise, I am going to have to do some more research into more talc free powders that blur (specifically for the under eye!!!!) so thank you for suggesting that ❤

I truly don’t understand the hype or love for the givenchy loose powder… it makes my skin look ashy and so dry. I have a lot of under eye darkness, I’m 38 years old and take excellent care of my skin, I prime and everything, but it makes my skin look dull, grey, and so sucked out of life (and I have combination skin). I’ve tried 4 different colors, all did the same, I just wasted so much money because of the hype… That powder is the worst in my collection truly 😅
