Thank you Lauren Elizabeth, it is very helpful to see your process in the initial drawing... I spend days trying to perfect a drawing before painting..some freehand sketchbook time will be a big help in boosting confidence. I've been using a proportion divider and have found that I've lost some confidence to sketch freehand even though my eye seems more accurate that when I try use the tool to measure. I will give this a go. And I love the expressive freedom of the sketchbook. I've been using mine mostly for planning lately, so back to play will be good.
That’s exactly what I’m trying to communicate to artists. You said it, that creative, expressive freedom. To just play and enjoy the array of designs, colors, patterns, line, shapes, we can create in our sketchbooks. I’m so so thankful this tutorial and hopefully series will bless you Melanie.
