  • Review and details of installation of the ICT Billet knock sensor relocation brackets (551216-KN30) and knock sensor extension harness (WEKNO30-36) on a 2005 Chevy Avalanche 4X4. These brackets are made to work with the 1996-2007 LS Gen III engine series (LS1, LM7, LQ4, LS6, L59, LQ9, and LM4) where the knock sensors are located under the intake manifold.

Im thankful for your video, i was planning on doing the relocation but after seeing this i think id rather just take out the intake manifold and replace the existing sensors 😂 especially with a 4x4 truck and all the parts in the way

I made this video just so others could see what was involved in doing it. I hope it works out for you.

Thanks for the video. I have big arms, hands, and fingers, so I may have to find a small mechanic to help me out with this swap, but I think I'll order the parts and give it a go.

Great video. For reference, I have a 2004 Express 3500 box van with the 6.0, Neither the drivers or pass side blocks fit, because of oil cooler lines and the frame/ crossmember. I pulled an oil pan bolt and used the drivers side block with a longer bolt, seems to do just fine.

Great video! I might have missed it in the video, but what did you do about the valley? New solid plate, or reapply the plugs with silicone?

Cool video , my ? Is there any excessive revving of the engine to relearn? Most relocation videos claim 5-6k rpm for 3-5 seconds two to three times .. Tks again great video

I went out and checked my 2500 Suburban has the oil cooler lines mounted in the hole on the driver side. Don't see any more holes on that side of the block.

any idea if having a six inch lift would make the process of installing the brackets easier or more difficult? i have replaced the sensors once already, four years ago and recently started getting codes again... i dont want to pull the intake again, especially with the lift... thanks

I bought all of this but honestly didn’t want to fool with the locations lol so I’m thinking of screwing in the knock sensors on the side of the heads the threads fit into the holes by alternator and passenger side

That's the reason I made this video, so someone needing to do this will see what is involved. It's definitely not an easy job, but doable.

Seems almost easier to remove the intake. I tried mounting to the head. Didn't work for me.
