Cool to see actual use cases. I have some ideas on how to implement Shadow Foam in my shop, thanks to your demonstrations at Makers Central! Thanks for sharing!
Your foam looks great, but (though distressed and made with inefficient tool spacing) the original divider trays are absolutely amazing. So rigid and some of the best hybrid designs with the back metal I've ever seen.
Depending on the weight of the tools, you can get away without a backer, however you can add one for extra stability. If you don't want that, check out Easy Peel! It's sturdy enough to make trays from! 😊
While I love the way the foam holds the tools, the stacking concept within the case is hugely impractical. To work on a bike or whatever,, you would essentially have to remove every layer and have them later out so you could access the tools as needed...
Most used tools on the top layer, then less used further in the case. This doesn't work for everyone, but you're right, sometimes you will have to take the top two layers out to get to the right tool
How is this impractical. This is very well organized and pull out the tools you needed in the slot with ease, rather than your trash digging box of shit.
Our new product Easy Peel is much more suitable for using as trays. It's a rigid foam so there's no need for handles or reinforcing with a tray underneath
What would you recommend to attach the foam in the lid with? I have a similar set up with my box and the foam has a habit of falling out the lid when I open it! Double sided tape? Some form of spray glue?
We have used a number of techniques to do this, it depends if you want a permanent solution. If you do, we have a spray adhesive that we sell on our website. Alternatively, we have used strong double sided velcro, this means you can take the full insert out form the lid if you want to.
Striker9080 Gaming I’m sure we will give away a toolkit at some point, this months give away is the PS4 case with built in screen. Next month will be a custom nerf gun, however the next month will Most likely be a tool kit similar to this 👍😀 so stay tuned

Be Inspired with Dominic no problem, I’m glad you enjoyed the demo 😀👍

Our newer foam since this video is also rigid and dense, allowing tools to be held firmly.
Does stuff ever fall out of the lid?
Do you need extra backing material for the removable trays? or is the foam sturdy enough to support the tools by itself?

Just ran into my own comment on accident. Easy peel sucked. Looks and feels cheap. Almost like packing foam.
When you close the lid how do you prevent tools from fallin ?
The foam grips the tools!
@@JonaShone mine don't
Is the foam you are using 30mm or 50mm?? Thanks!
Awesome. We have no clue. Super informative video. It made me decide to go with kaizer or whatever the other foam guy is.
What the name of the divider trays?
How did you get the foam to stick in the lid????
General adhesive would do the job, nothing too heavy but generally if it's cut to fit, it wedges in there snug.
Nice! How long does that foam hold up?
Its been years now and it shown no sign of wearing out yet!
Cutting out a circle all the way through the foam on opposite corners would make it a lot easier to pop each foam tray out.
Good idea!

Sure beats the time it takes finding tools in a box with tools just throw in though

Can anyone tell me how to make a label like the one on the box? Where it says "POTTER RaBE Race Cars". Is that embossing tape?
Looks like it to me!
Without handles to lift the foam layers, this is not very practical. Have you solved for that?

@@JonaShone Some people attach flat nylon straps under the trays
