Jules Verne would be jumping for joy!!
As would Vincent Price I am sure.
@@borusa32
Stop motion short with Vincent Price narration when?
10/10 would like/subscribe/comment.
Wow, you guys made Jules Verne alive for a few precious moments!!!! CONGRATULATIONS, proving he was well ahead of his time in his day.
no he wasn't ... he just knew the right people (scientists) and was a great storyteller
The amount of work put into this model is outstanding.
Thanks to you I know know monsieur means gentleman 👍
@@jonasgeez2140
no it doesn't ... monsieur means mister
gentleman would be gentilhomme (but almost nobody uses it anymore, using gentleman instead)
@@KaosKrusher oh ok yea google translated it to gentleman so that's why I said that .. thanks for the clarification
@@jonasgeez2140
you're welcome ;)
The sweet irony of turning a battery-powered drone into a replica of a battery-powered Aeronef designed by the great Jules Verne himself.
Looks incredible.
Imagine the down force wind just standing on the deck if it was full sized!
Normal RC is neat but projects like this take it to the next level. I'm impressed you could even fly the thing without installing some sort of internal auto stabilizer to keep it level.
M. Verne would have been delighted.
Robur the conqueror and his Albatross nice ship and nice book!!.
I hope this guy could build The TERROR in the future.
What an amazing build, and that he was able to control it well enough to get it flying and not crashing to the point of destruction. Bravo!
Vern was truly a head of his time his concept works.
His concept would never fly as all the inboard rotors are useless. The four otrigged motors are mostly flying the whole thing.
@@stuwest3653 figured that the 4 drone propellers are what made it work but imagine if they actually took the time at that time period to make it a reality. He was onto something
Let's face it: any RC can fly. I watched flatirons, several other kitchen appliance and even King Henry the VIII's bed fly
@@PaulieLauraXombie1331 In that time though you would never get anywhere remotely close to the required RPM though, in fact even if you built this thing today you would never get it to fly - no engine in existence could deliver the power required to lift this with just four of them like a drone. If they could then the flying aircraft carriers from the Marvel movies would be a reality already.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Trials make everything work.
Cool model! 😎
Way cool!
It actually flew!!
Well done!
Wow!! Just the kind of stuff I like! I'm the king of different things at the RC field! Fantastic job, sir!
It's a bit unfortunate that it was so windy, for its first flight, but great job of getting it airborne & holding its position.
MOOOOREE COOAAAL!!!!
No flight stabilization? Since this is basically a special quadcopter, it should be able to hover very stable, but if it's full manual control, then it will be extremely hard to control
Tbh; prototype.
I love it when people create things like this.
Presenting Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines’ Icon of the Skies.
Fantastic model. It looks majestic in those slo-mo shots.
When flying take of for poetry, bravo!
Love the imagination of the _Albatross_ and the work put into this fabulous model! That you got it aloft is a great accomplishment. Jules Verne would be so proud of you. Respect! 😎🇦🇺
Maybe some gyros as used by drones (IMU-Inertial Measurement Units) would help to stabilise the model in flight?
Fantastico !!!
Complimenti !!!
quasi ... spaziale !!!
Krásné práce, jako by vyplul z mých klukovských snů 😊
The imagination needed to imagine such a machine is marvelous simply marvelous. 👍. Bravo sirs.
Fantastic!
Brilliant! 👍👍👍👍
Erinnerungen werden wach! Fantastisch!
Love it.
Wow well dine, a work of art ❤
Well dine, sounds like a Royal😂
Didn’t believe it could fly but it did
Congrats 🎉
RC can make a brick fly. It's the gravity part that can be tricky, Newton's a b!tch.
Congratulations to Robur the Conqueror!
I couldn't even imagine the long, lengthy process of testing and tuning just to get that thing to fly.
Congratulations, that was pretty awesome.
Thank you very much!
RC tending meets culture. Way to go!
Should make one from Master of the World. That one may even fly.
If he were done with it, it belongs in the Jules Verne Museum in Nantes, France!
Extraordinary and wonderful. We need more wacky ideas in aeromodeling. By the way, my favourite rubber powered Flying Witch can be viewed on Hobby Cerdas. Recommend.
Impressive and Pythonesque. 🤣🌟👍
It looks like a possible source of inspiration for the likes of Miyazaki. I wonder…
I just did some googling around and it seems he did indeed read Joules Verne.
*"Captein, we need more propellers!!!!"*
Super. Děkuji.
Je dis bravo!🤗
Awesome!
That is an impressive model! How did he get all the props to turn? That has to be the winner of some competition fir sure! Thx for sharing!
Beautiful
_Robur the Conqueror_
Awesome model, looks like some PID tuning would do the trick. But it's difficult to say, sometimes drones act up when the frame is not rigid enough or something vibrates, which could easily be the case with this model.
Verne was a man of his time to be sure. As Sikorsky would learn, smooth thrust is important. Can you imagine being a passenger on a vehicle that oscillates like that? Verne's next invention would have been seat belts. All that rigging would have made it an aerodynamic mess even with the forward thrust prop spinning it seemed to stay in place. A real one might have needed sails!
In 20,000 Leagues Verne describes hunting underwater using projectiles that utilized Leyden technology to electrocute their prey. I don't believe in Time Travel (everything in the universe is moving, so there are no static destinations) so I have to give in to the divine or just assume Verne was a genius in his own rite.
Ben Franklin used to use Leyden jars to shock his guests at parties in the 1700s. He also spent a certain amount of time in France. I would not be surprised if Verne knew people who had been shocked by Franklin's Leyden jars.
Majestic and Magnificent, really ! Oh, I'm sure that with some additional setup or midification, the dangerous pitching instability can be corrected... Anyway, congratulations !
Congratulations! I would love to see an in depth video of this model
Oh my god that aeronautical abomination actually flies! I don't know what Jules Verne was smoking to come up with something like that but excellent work making it a functioning reality even if it is a scaled down version.
Gyro?
Reminds me of the flying ship in ff9
Al-Bat-Rows?.......Human narration is so underrated
1:14...😁🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺👍👍👍
Robur!
mans forgot to put in angl mode. good save pops
Saw that movie with Vincent Price.
Could a small gyroscope be introduced?
This is like Studio Ghibli, but real life
Von wegen unmöglich! 😁👍
WHY the complication of contra-rotating rotors? With multiple rotors, all you need is for half of them to spinfl in the other direction.
Where is Robur? Thanks
It's pronounced Albatross not Albatross 😂
Yup!!!!!
@@ScottJohnson-up2vmyou're both wrong. It's albatross. Duh
It's actually pronounced corrosion of conformity. Or if you are from middle earth, it's Albutroose. You must pronounce every letter in the word.
Huh. All of this time I thought it was pronounced Albatross.
Nuh uh, it's Albatross
He created a quadricopter and all helices are cosmetics. But is nice!
Drop the A.I. narration
And now I want a inhabitable, steam powered elephant.
Pronounced Al - ber - tross, with the accent on Al. Thank you.
Kilograms! How many pounds?
It's a bird, innit. It's a bloody sea bird . .. it's not any bloody flavor. Albatross!
Of course you damn don’t get any bloody wafers with it!
Still beats an ex-parrot.
@@bunion8579 Or an expatriate.
If Elon Verne had designed it it would have been the future for sure.
is this a AI voice? because it's Al Ba Tross is how it's pronounced. WTF. but it's really cool someone made it.
It looks a bit amateurish/rough, there are far too many wires/electronics on display that could easily be hidden, some of the structure looks like bad papier-mache (like the green life ring thing on the front), and all of those stay cables are far too loose and baggy and should be much more taut. Is it an incredible fete of engineering though? Definitely!
it's just another drone with a model on top
Al-ba-tross!
Not al-bat-rose!
Did I like the video? Yes, but I didn't like the computer voice. Al bat tros?
You would do better having no narration at all rather than that A.I. foolishness.
Three words in a mispronunciation.
Next.
kar
If you're going to post videos on here, at least teach your AI proper pronunciation.
She looks prdy difficult to fly
Hire a real human to narrate your videos.
You need a better AI commentator. Al bat rhos
Al bat trose?
Looks more like a flailing RC model than a flying model.
Sour grapes, mate?
Thats quadrocopter with extra suff. Nothing new. Do the same without quadrocopter base.
Wrong....., that's not the albatross from "master of the world" ....
What a wicked web we weave when we practice to decieve👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻🤬🤬🤬🤬
impressive ;)
Four additional big engines by sides? No, that's not canonic!
Men….feed the boilers more coal!!!
🤣
Don't be silly! Robur never used coal or steam to power the Albatross! It was purely electric - a Tesla of the clouds, as it were.
@@billswallow1804 I know next to nothing about the Albatross, how did they get the electricity?
😅🍺🍺🍺👍
Verne never addressed that question in any meaningful way. The Nautilus was also electric. And he had hand-held electric lights that would work for months at a time. All charged by armwavium.
Wonderful!
